Hello Sleuthers!! Another long time listener, first time caller
...Are we allowed to post links to the transcripts of Police Record of Interview here? Not sure, so just thought I'd ask...
I wonder if it could be determined if the chipped tooth was old or recent. Wonder when Allison last went to the dentist. They would have obtained her dental records for identification purposes so would have looked at these. Also any recent photos of her showing a chipped tooth or evidence from anyone who may have saw it or talked to her about it before that night.
I just had a chat last week to a mum at school all about her discoloured front tooth, not that I asked.
Or maybe the hand over her mouth was just to quiet her at some point prior to killing her by whatever means.
IMO The chipped tooth could be a tablet bottle being forced into the mouth. Did anyone check the rim of the medicine bottles. Or was it a glass of water being thrust between her lips. Every movement would have been forceful and fast and clumsily done.

I'd think they'd be able to determine if the tooth was chipped pre or post mortem. They'd be able to tell if there were any signs of decay. If it was old, it would have started to grind down. Dr Watson can probably give us better information on that. Please Doc?

Hopefully the hairdresser can remember. I always notice teeth.
Well, first I'd have to make the disclaimer that I'm not a dentist or a forensic dentist, with no particular expertise there. But having said that, logical thinking would suggest that a simple check of Allison's dental records would determine if the chip was recent or long-standing. Also, if it was thought to be significant, then a forensic dentist would have been asked to inspect the dentition and do a report, as part of the autopsy report.
EDIT: I see somebody has already referred to the autopsy report above, which I'm not allowed to do as it has not been reported in the MSM, hence my circumspection here...
