Wish there was an app to see if and when the washing machine was used.

Has there been anything said about GBC's clothing? With all the marks on his body Id think his shirt/top would have been torn, maybe a bit bloody, but of course you'd need what he was actually wearing that night to prove this. Id expect the clothing would have been disposed of pretty quickly :moo:

Wonder if this will be consistent with bite marks - eg to a smothering hand over the mouth?

To be honest that is what I thought it looked like, but I'm no expert of course.

The abrasion on his chest has me intrigued and I wonder what happened there. Very red and kind of looked like grazing of the skin. The dr said the patterning of it could have come from material such as the sole of a shoe or it could have been his clothing that caused that effect under some force being transmitted through it. As many have said, when you are confronted with the extent of these injuries, which he hasn't been able to otherwise explain, it is apparent how desperately Allison fought for her life :(

I am just home from being in court this morning. I haven't read the whole thread so apologies if I repeat anything. Apologies also if this is not of interest. I thought those that can't go might like to get a feel for it.

Might just do it in point form for speed

- I think GBC looked like he was quite puffy in the face. He certainly makes an effort to hide in the corner although when he first came out this morning I saw him have a quick look at the public gallery area.

- Olivia Walton was there. She came and spoke to the barristers before the proceedings started and then sat I a chair to the side, directly opposite GBC. I could see her smiling to him every so often. I actually thought she was going to stay there except she left at the very last minute when the judge walked in.

- there was a lady in the front row, far side wearing a white top. I would love to know who she was as she kept glaring at GBC. When she left the room when we had the first 15 minute break she made a point of walking past and staring in at him. If looks were daggers .....

- in that same front row were quite a few older people taking notes. I imagine these must be friends or relatives of the Dickies.
In the row behind them were woman who I imagine would be Alison's friends. Several of them were also taking notes.
I also saw the lady who told GBC yesterday that she hated him.

- the first break for 15 minutes was because the defence only had 2 of the 3 statements made by Dr Hoskins. This gave them time to read up on the copy given to them

- my impression of Mr Davis questioning Dr Hoskins was that he was grasping at straws and trying to put words into his mouth. We seemed to be going around in circles for a while. Why a brand new court complex couldn't include a pointer of some sort for the photos on the screens is beyond me.

- Mr Davis asked for a longer lunch break to be able to read/ discuss some of the accountants information. He said this could possibly shorten his time needed with this witness. The judge commented he was happy to spend time to save time.

- After each discussion with the witness's Mr Mahoney went to the glass box and spoke with GBC. at one stage GBC gave him a paper which he took back to Mr Davis. I gather GBC is taking his own notes

That's all I can recall so far.

I guess they don't repeat what Mr Boyle says as he doesn't really say too much. He calls for the witnesses and after they are sworn in asks their name, occupation details.
He did ask a few other things during the course of the morning but nothing that jumped out at me to remember.

I wonder if it could be determined if the chipped tooth was old or recent. Wonder when Allison last went to the dentist. They would have obtained her dental records for identification purposes so would have looked at these. Also any recent photos of her showing a chipped tooth or evidence from anyone who may have saw it or talked to her about it before that night.

I just had a chat last week to a mum at school all about her discoloured front tooth, not that I asked.

I can't imagine a woman leaving a chipped tooth unrepaired for too long. Certainly not if it was a large chip. Perhaps a small chip that was really not noticeable would go longer. I know I would be straight into the dentist if it was me. (Could Alison afford to go to the dentist? financial problems taken into consideration.) The hairdresser would be the best person to ask so I hope the police have done so. She would have had a good opportunity to see her smile and notice a chip.

Hello Sleuthers!! Another long time listener, first time caller :)...Are we allowed to post links to the transcripts of Police Record of Interview here? Not sure, so just thought I'd ask...

It is general knowledge if it's not from MSM then it's not allowed.

Or maybe the hand over her mouth was just to quiet her at some point prior to killing her by whatever means.

Yes I thought of this type of scenario when a few of the screams witnesses reported short sharp shouts/screams/noises that kind of suddenly stopped (if they'd continued they may have investigated further)? I thought about a hand over her mouth and her trying to shout for help.

NOT OF INTEREST??? It's one of the best posts of the day. Love the details. Thanks so much for the descriptive post wewillgetyou. I was personally going a bit loopy (Sorry Marly )

Does anyone know why Twitter doesn't include Danny Boyle's quotes from the committal?

Tweets are by definition : "a 140-character message posted via Twitter." There isn't enough space to put too much in a tweet. Thats why the tweets are very short.

Just quoting you Thinking because this is something I was pondering last night as I was reading through the thread here. I have heard screams on occasions and have waited to see if I hear it again. I have often wondered if I should call 000 not actually being able to tell them where it came from. It also made me realise that calling them probably wouldn't help a great deal in that situation because if it's stopped, it's probably already too late, though it may help in catching a perpetrator.

He must say something first as I found these below.

Committal hearing
The magistrate's role is to decide if there is sufficient evidence on which a jury could convict to send the defendant to trial in the District Court or Supreme Court.

the prosecutor will present the case against the defendant and call witnesses to obtain their evidence
the defence lawyer or defendant may cross-examine these witnesses

"So the level's too low?" asked prosecutor Danny Boyle.
"Yes," Dr Hoskins replied.

Thinking and we will get you, can I ask clarification on something?

So, the lady who yelled at G yesterday was not the same woman who was glaring at him today?
He had two visibly angry women there?

The way it works usually is that a phone is continually 'talking' to multiple cell towers - each cell tower has an idea of 'how close' the phone is to it by measuring response times from itself to each of the towers that its internal radio can 'see'. These can be logged by the Telco and have been used to locate people in emergencies... by triangulation.

When you actually make a call, there is a log event that logs that call to a particular cell tower, sure, but all of the other cell registration events will show up in all towers that the cellular device could contact. This has been used to triangulate in to devices by emergency services.

You can use this data to even identify when a device wasn't on - or in 'flight mode' - as it is no longer registering itself with the cellular network. Some crims turn their phone off to stop showing up at all. This is also a red flag of sorts...

All that said... Telco's don't make it easy to get this info. And we have quite a few different providers. Each has different log retention policies. I'm pretty sure that they actually charge law enforcement to access them!! (call it cost recovery).

Thanks! Yes. They will have a heap more. And we've only heard bits about computer based evidence that was seized. And the nice thing is, that once they have taken good forensic images of the phones and computers they can reanalyse them if new info comes to light. For example the facetime call log.
They could identify easily if the iPhone 3gs was jailbroken (not hard to do at all and surely GBC knew people who could help) and if the Facetime hack for 3GS was installed.

Just catching up today, but this is an important discussion IMO. :goodpost:
