Thanks Sleuthis. I'm of the understanding that the Brookfield house was in fact declared a crime scene on the 20 April 2012. Well before a full scale search had begun. GBC phoned the police from there Mr. Davis!

Yes..It was declared a crime scene immediately when the first offciers attended the missing person call out.

it just gobsmacks me that Toni was up and ready to lie from the get go.. I mean, it may well have been the first police interview in her life.. and a bit unsettling, as she was not a volunteer interviewee.. she was called in to the station... I dont think that interview would have taken place at her unit..

and yet.. right off the bat. no.. no contact. ..and maintained that lie, in the face of the circumstances unfolding ... a couple of QLD detectives can be a bit discomposing to face, your main squeezes wife is missing under suspicious circs, but no. Toni is up for it.

That is the impression I got - she wasn't completely truthful by ommission of what she could have told to implicate gbc. ANd to say blatantly they (she and gbc) never spoke of Allisons dissappearance -well they must have been the only two not talking about it because the Western Suburbs were on fire with EVERY detail of what was going down.

4.27pm: HOMICIDE detective Peter Roddick has denied telling Toni McHugh that Gerard Baden-Clay had had affairs with other women.

"I don't believe I told her ... I asked her if she was aware of any other relationships," he said.

"I didn't volunteer any names to her."

He said detectives had to issue a warning to Ms McHugh before she gave her fifth statement after discovering she had earlier "failed to disclose" a phone call with Baden-Clay.

"She told us she had not had any contact with Gerard Baden-Clay and we were aware that that was untrue," he said.

yes i think it came up here in the first week or so and it stick in my mind and i sort of get that feeling about him too, and what with his strict game hunter father, the macho kind of upbringing etc, i really feel hes hiding something else.

I need a break, but if anyone is keen to compare some statements - something I just thought about:

It would be interesting to look at the timeline the morning Allison was reported missing

i.e.
-Kieron Ash's statement (and other police) that includes GBC's reference to looking for Allison before he got ready for work, going home to get ready

-the time phone calls were made between BC's - what time were they contacted, when they arrived, who arrived

-who was looking after the kids when GBC was out driving the streets, did he really call the police from his car?, what time did he get back

-if he cut himself shaving, I would assume at least one of the BC's was there, because they were looking after the children while he was driving around? In Keiron Ash's statement, he said GBC told him that he WENT HOME to 's**t, shower and shave' - he didn't get up from bed and do this, so he would have had to see someone before he went looking for Allison. I wonder what they said in their statement about whether GBC had the cuts on his face when they first saw him (before he went looking for Allison)? This would be VERY IMPORTANT testimony, IMO.

Something seems really off to me about that morning - I'm sure looking at all the statements and documents will show some inconsistencies.

If not now I think they will at the trial. Esp since it's seen as a deliberate attempt to avoid an interview and cover up his other injuries. Many people have said it is virtually impossible to crash the way he did, so it would be good as evidence.

Appears he can go to two doctors,,,seeming have it all together and try to chat one up....but lost concentration while driving.....Pull the other leg GBC.

he might have been shat off Dr Candice did not take his advances to heart...

What a stupid thing to do...even giving her his business card when his wife is missing....No doubt about him.

I also feel he was totally stringing T M along all that time...even though she seemed to want to... and believed she would be in the big picture some time in the future.
He fooled her big time and possibly kept up the facade after Allison went missing to keep an eye on her to instruct how she gave evidence.....
Any wonder she was a mess on the stand.....still sticking up for him.....Get a grip Toni.....and as someone suggested she might even marry him in jail...:jail:

Exactly Trooper! GBC instructs his legal eagles, the don't instruct him. Although he's not too bright so there may have been some suggestive coaxing involved. Just saying. :twocents:
