"Colorado Judge Sarah Wallace is overseeing the bench trial, meaning she will be the sole decider of the case’s outcome, not a jury. Yesterday's trial in Colorado (which is a bench trial with no jury, just the judge)

• "testimony began with details about the Jan. 6 assault that was intended to stop Congress from certifying President Joe Biden’s election win"
• "Lawyers representing six Republican and unaffiliated Colorado voters argued that Trump’s violent rhetoric preceding the attack makes him culpable, and barred from the presidency again under that clause prohibiting anyone who swore an oath to the constitution and then 'engaged in insurrection' against it from holding office."

But just 75 minutes after Chutkan gave notice that the order had been reinstated, Trump appeared to violate it by attacking his former attorney general and a potential witness, William P. Barr.

"I called Bill Barr Dumb, Weak, Slow Moving, Lethargic, Gutless, and Lazy, a RINO WHO COULDN'T DO THE JOB," Trump said in a post on his social media platform, Truth Social.

"His verbal skills are limited," Barr said of the former president during an event at the University of Chicago's Institute of Politics earlier in the week.
"If you get him away from 'very, very, very' ... you know, the adjectives ... they're unfamiliar to him and they sort of spill out, and he goes too far," Barr said. "He's not very disciplined when it comes to what he says."

Referencing the attack, Trump added: "So now this Moron says about me, to get even, 'his verbal skills are limited.' Well, that's one I haven't heard before. Tell that to the biggest political crowds in the history of politics, by far. Bill Barr is a LOSER!"

Sounds like they want it decided by U.S. Supreme Court and not in their state court.

I think they want to punt it because they don't want to give the impression their decision will perceived as political by Minnesota voters.

The 14th Amendment case I want to succeed is the one filed by a group of Republicans in Colorado. Their expert witness analyzed Trump's speech on Jan. 6th. There needs to be a serious consequence for a President spewing hateful rhetoric in order to incite violence.
