The problem that I have with the Hyattsville address is that I cannot find a 1600 block of Eastern Ave NE in Hyattsville. The address that I put on my map, which is in the Chapel Oaks area is considered Mt Ranier, according to Google maps and corresponds with Chapel Oaks, as well as the 1600 Eastern Av NE. So that's what I am going with. It

What do you think Dewey and other locals?

This is an excellent question hollye. I am waiting to complete the next map update myself, until we (hopefully) figure this out.

2Hope4's post stated, from LE (IIRC) that the street address was Eastern Avenue. Do we have word from LE that also states the truck was recovered from Eastern Avenue NE as well?

:tyou: locals for your valuable insight! I know that together, we will figure this out, and it will bring us one step closer to bringing this precious child to safety!

Being local myself, I am going to stick with the location I have on my map, as that area is considered Chapel Oaks. Eastern Avenue in that area is the border between DC and MD and just up 295 from Tatum's residence and an easy hop over from the beltway, near the Red Roof Inn.

Well, I think she may have sold her to him. In turn, he may have been selling her time after time, if you know what I mean.

Little Relisha may well have very well have been hurt too badly to be seen in public. She also may have said she was going to tell someone.

Who knows? We may never know. I do believe Shamika will be arrested at some point, and I believe Tatum will be located.

I was speaking in anger when I said to arrest her now. You are right, CUCKOOHEAD, about not arresting her now. She would absolutely get advice from other inmates not to talk.

Please, please let Relisha be found safe.

MOO

This all just hurts my heart and sickens me.

Please, Relisha, please be somewhere safe.

Sadly I do understand what you mean and I agree that there is more to the immediate family's complicity than we know.

I am sick to death of people giving the label 'victim' to someone who happens to be a monster and I'm talking about this mother. IMO she is as guilty for what happened to her little girl as the man who has her. I think laws should be changed to make the 'parent' or 'grandparent' who turns a blind eye or actually helps in the cover up (like we have here) charged with the same crimes as the pedophile.

Unfortunately with certain people, IMO, fear of being incarcerated may be the only thing that makes them consider the welfare of their offspring.

truly heartbreaking

Any locals know what wooded area they are referring to searching?

The busses are parked to the east of the DC General grounds, but excepting the trees along the Anacostia River, there really isn't a whole lot of "wooded area".

Still going through media links here for the purpose of a timeline and I just noticed this. I somehow missed this information before! Child Services have a 7yr history with the family AND had an open case when Relisha went missing.

D.C. Child and Family Services Agency (CFSA) had an active case working when Relisha went missing, along with three prior cases dating back to 2007, sources told News4. The previous cases included lack of food, insufficient shelter, medical neglect, inadequate supervision and at least one report of the mother hitting one of her children.

How sad that nobody protected this child. Who is harboring this man, or financing his travels?

I read in a link upthread that they searched inside the shelter and were searching woods behind it. I'm baffled as well because on sat view on the map there really isn't a wooded area there at all. There is a small strip of trees running along the Anacostia Riverwalk trail there, but it doesn't look that "woodsy" on the map

What worries me is that Tatum is on the run without Relisha. IIRC, she wasn't seen at the Red Roof Inn, and the last verifiable sighting was on the February 26 hotel video.

I have no words... this case is heartbreaking and makes me sick to my stomach. How many other Relishas are out there?

  • #690
The thought sickens me, but I hope they're checking the landfill where the trash from the shelter goes to.

Janitor at shelter + small body + trash night at LARGE shelter = DISASTER undetected!!!

JMOO!

one case with DCS we discussed up thread was failure to receive medical care for her younger son. on social media, you can see that poor boy with a 4 inch hernia.

I totally agree. This mother was more interested in what she could get if she "gave" Relisha to KT. The H3!! with the welfare of the child.

And not having money is so not a reason for not being a good parent. That is why we have all of these programs set up to help with providing clothing, food, housing, counseling, job training and medical care.

All Shamika had to do was LOVE her little girl and PROTECT her. She didn't do either of them. :maddening:

So Child Services was involved since little Relisha was approximately 1 year old, huh? My God, what does a person have to do these days to lose their children?
How many chances do they get? The babies and children only have 1 chance if that.

Were I a Child Services Social Worker, one look at that Facebook and her 'selfies' & language would do it for me. Clean your life up or lose your kids. I don't think anyone at Child Services was the least bit surprised when Relisha turned up missing.

I do have to say that I'm impressed with Child Services that they went ahead and got custody of Relisha to enable them to do an Amber Alert (such as it was). At least the little boys are safe now that they have been removed from that home.

Please let there be news soon. I am praying that the $25,000 reward looks really good to someone who knows where Relisha may be. And I hope one of Tatums 'friends' turns him in for the reward money on his behind.

MOO

That type of surgery can be done successfully as early as in the first 2 or 3 months of life. My first grandson had to have it done.

There was no excuse for medical neglect, IMO. It's not like she would have had to pay for it or it would have hurt her.

It's very woodsy along the Anacostia River in many parts, not sure about near the shelter...?

My heart is so heavy. I think they're searching for a reason. :(

The hernia was horrific. I seriously have no nice words right now and since I'm personally involved with a dcfs case at this time with a child Relisha's age (I took a job with DCFS - which I will be quitting after the case I'm involved in is somewhat settled) - that included pedophilia, child 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬, filth in ways you cannot imagine - lice, being kept in a closet and not potty trained..

I had this child and her sister 2 weeks ago for 2 days until I had to beg them for foster care. I'm just waiting till there's an msm article to start a thread here, it's eye opening being on the inside of this mess and how poorly we are paid and the fact there is hardly any foster homes anymore ... so this case with Relisha is very personal to me and I'm learning some things as we go that are helping with the case I'm involved in.

I do believe we will see charges brought against Shamika, if for nothing else but simple neglect.

Do you think the reason the boy didn't get the surgery done was because she would have to be involved and take the child to the hospital, fill out forms and come get him when he was able to leave?

In another words she couldn't be bothered. She wanted other people feeding, clothing, providing a roof and taking her children to and from school. Her job was to cash the checks?

Relisha Rudd's absence from school, however, stretched into weeks. One day, Relisha showed up at Payne Elementary School in early March to pick up her younger brothers and was spotted by staff members, we're told. When asked where she had been, Relisha said that she had been sick.

http://www.wusa9.com/story/news/loc...rudd-missing-dc-amber-alert-new-info/6914005/

Wait a second. Let's talk about this. If, on March 7, Relisha went to pick up her siblings, where did she drop them off? With someone else, or did she take them to the shelter? Did mom/step dad see her or not when she dropped the kids off? Where did Relisha go after that??

Agreed. That location is just so close to all the other addresses in this case. Another thing that has been weighing on me is how close that Eastern Avenue location is to Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens....ugh.

The shelter is very, very close to the river. A couple months ago, I was at the Anacostia Boathouse (maybe a mile from the shelter) and there's also a construction project going on in the general vicinity.
