Quoting myself just to add - I hope this is true, because at least it will mean its not part of something bigger, more locations, more shooters, more victims, etc.

Cold comfort for the victims families, though.

Mayor:

A shooter entered building 197 and began shooting.

4 wounded were removed and taken to hospital

still trying to confirm number of casualties

as far as we know this is an isolated incident

building 197, naval sea command. Began shooting 820 am. LE engaged at least one shooter. Four wounded they know of taken to hosp. Number of fatalities to be updated later.

So far only know of one isolated incident, one location. In continuous communication with whit house.

Police chief up next, then park police.

Police Chief. No questions, will have another briefing within two hours.

Metro police deployed within seven minutes. Multiple teams, us Marshall's, FBI, park police. Right now have one MPD officer shot. One shooter involved that is deceased. Nother casualties, won't confirm number, but multiple deceased. Potentially have two other shooters not located!

Initial call came in shortly after 8:15am

Active shooting teams deployed on base within 7 minutes

multiple units have been inside since then

1 npd(?) officer was shot while engaging with shooter (stable condition, in surgery)

1 shooter involved with this that is deceased

multiple victims inside deceased

Big concern right now is that there are POTENTIAL NOT CONFIRMED 2 additional shooters on loose

1 white male, kahki naval uniform, short sleeves. Last seen 8:35am with handgun

1 black male approx 50yrs may have been in possession of a long gun. Drab olive green military style uniform.

No information that those 2 may be military personnel but do believe they may be in uniform.
