I seriously doubt that Bradley is going to walk free. There's other evidence. It's just tragic that the families have to be drug through the muck and mire for another second. They need to get on with their healing and that's nigh impossible with yet another court hearing looming or a headline in your face every day.

I imagine that LE have smacked their heads on the wall concerning the seizure of the items in the building NOT listed in the SW. It's really more than a technicality, IMO, it was a really unfortunate choice of whomever was supervising the search. I believe that Bradley was already in custody or secured when they did the search. It would have only taken another hour or so to have requested that another building be included in the SW.

I think that this judge knew very well that this evidence would not stand up on appeal. But who knows, maybe a miracle will occur and the high court will allow it in and affirm. The whole argument goes back to a certain building's color. The matter is highly subjective.

Some information I haven't seen before:

http://www.delmarvanow.com/article/20110614/DW01/106140306/Dr-Earl-B-Bradley-admits-raping-patients

"....The troopers told of how Bradley "groomed" parents to let their daughters go with him to a basement or outbuilding to get Popsicles or other treats, such as a "princess doll," before forcing sex acts that he recorded on video. He raped some girls during weekends when he told their parents they needed a three-day series of shots for ear infections, and needed to get candy for their depleted sugar levels from the injections...."

and

"[Lead prosecutor, Paula J.] Ryan and her team did not use videos found in a tan shed known as Building D. Perhaps they are hoping that if the Building B videos are ruled illegal, the high court wouldn't reject the Building D search and they could be used in a subsequent retrial. Ryan called two witnesses -- state police Detectives Thomas Elliott and Scott Garland.

Elliott, who oversaw the search and interviewed dozens of witnesses, described how police tried to identify the victims from videos by making a "clean video" that didn't show any sexual activity to present to parents. Elliott said they didn't approach parents until -- after matching time stamps on the videos to patient and office records -- they were 80 percent sure the child was theirs...."

and

"...Deputy Attorney General Alex W. Gatti's voice appeared to crack with emotion as she reiterated that 16 girls "have yet to be identified...."

and

"....The attacks took place in five places: Bradley's exam room, a basement in the main office, the outbuilding where the worst assaults took place, Bradley's former office in Lewes and his home on Savannah Road near Beebe Hospital, where he once worked full time and kept privileges until his arrest. In the attack at his house -- never disclosed until the trial -- the victim appeared to be about 7, and Bradley sedated the sleeping girl with nitrous oxide before undressing and violating her, Garland said. He also catalogued attacks with pet names, such as "Halloween," "Election Eve," "🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬" and "Post," which Garland said featured older girls who were "not post-pubescent" but about 10 to 14 years old -- much older than his typical victim...."

I cannot imagine how hard it must have been to make that phone call to a parent or to receive one. This man's actions have taken a devastating toll on hundreds.

Another "former" doctor in the news today. HOW do these doctors get away with this for year after year?!! This is so horrible that children are abused by medical professionals that are entrusted to HELP not harm our children!

http://www.courant.com/health/connecticut/hc-stfrancis-tim-doe1-20110614,0,6138613.story

This doctor's misdeeds were not discovered until after his death. The victims are unable to sue him since he has passed, but they are going after the hospital.

St. Francis hired Reardon as its chief of endocrinology in 1963. He died in 1998.

It wasn't until 2007, after some 50,000 images of children — some pornographic — were discovered behind a wall at Dr. George Reardon's former home that she realized why, she said.

Reardon's exam room "was set up almost like a photo studio," he said.

He is believed to have abused as many as 500 children from the 1960s to well into the 1980s.

Here is a picture of where the photos were found hidden in a wall after he passed away. Someone who purchased the home was remodeling and found these photos.

Yes, Reardon was quite a piece of work. We have a thread on him. Some of his victims just agreed to a settlement with St. Francis:

Police Search for Child 🤬🤬🤬🤬 Victim's depicted in 🤬🤬🤬🤬 in Dr. George Reardon's home - Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community

We have a inordinately large number of GPs, psychiatrists, therapists, medical specialists, and nurses who have threads concerning sexual assault and/or child 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬. Most have abused hundreds. The FBI once released a study which said that the average pedophile abuses over 70 children before he/she gets caught. Average.

I completely agree. I cannot imagine the number of people this deprived, selfish, creepazoid affected!! It is unbelievable to me that these "people" were trained to help our children; and yet abuse our trust to hurt our children in the most unimaginable ways. :banghead:

cocomod--I actually think that the vast majority of pedophiles who are in the "helping professions" specifically chose those areas of practice due to their proclivities. It's shocking how much education, training and hard work is endured just to access the children and satisfy their revolting "needs". When you stop and think about it, it's actually remarkable. Many of the doctors I've researched have been extremely well respected for their work with children and their volunteer work in the community and in other countries. They are high achievers indeed. Many have received some of the highest accolades....all the way up to the Nobel Peace Prize.

I've never been able to figure out if the reputation and volunteerism is merely a ploy to reach more kids or is a mind game they play with themselves....."but look at all I've given back"....."look at how much good I've done".

I wish a guilty verdict meant some peace and closure for the victims and their families. However, the defense had made it quite clear that this is merely "round 1". I understand that the state didn't need all the possible charges against every known victim but it still bothers me that 24 counts represents only a fraction of the total. Children and families' lives were forever changed by this monstrous person.

Just a reminder: There were originally 529 counts of rape against Bradley. That number was consolidated into 24.

http://capegazette.villagesoup.com/news/story/bradley-found-guilty-on-24-charges/119925?source=rss

Bradley: Guilty on all charges

"Lewes pediatrician Earl Bradley was found guilty of 24 counts of first-degree rape, second-degree assault and sexual exploitation of a child by Judge William C. Carpenter Jr. Thursday, June 23. Bradley faced 14 counts of rape, five counts of assault and five counts of sexual exploitation of a child that involved 75 children...."

It's over for Bradley. You can be sure of that. At least Beau Biden and the State of Delaware really got behind this case.... changed the laws that make it a crime for a doctor not to report molestation.

Then you have San Mateo County in California, who doesn't give a rat's 🤬🤬🤬 about the victims of Dr. William Ayres.

Good by Bradley-you are a footnote. All of your patients will survive you and you will be relegated to the slime you crawled out of.

I'm not done with Bradley yet. I have high hopes that his story will somehow be told. I think there's much to be learned from his past and his tactics. I know that LE will be informed by him but I want parents and the general public to know just how a guy gets away with this for decades. Many many mysteries and secrets. Yes goodbye to him (how I wish...but he'll be drug out for every appeal) but I want his story told the world over.

Does anyone know what the DE laws on Post Conviction Relief are? Those convicted are allowed a PCR in every state....a civil trial paid for by taxpayer dollars, which alleges that the convicted person was failed by poor representation.

My concern is a specific detail. Only some states have prohibitions against the prisoner calling his victims as witnesses in his defense. In several states (including Oregon, until 2007), victims could be called and have all their personal information and records SINCE the conviction subpoenaed. Talk about ripping open old wounds. I've been researching DE and can't find the info yet. An advocacy group needs to get on this as the turn-around is a couple of years. We cannot have those children or parents being forced into deposition.

A step in the right direction:

http://www.wmdt.com/Global/story.asp?S=14976356

Dr. Earl Bradley's Former Office To Be Demolished

"The company that owns the medical offices of a Delaware pediatrician convicted of sexually abusing young patients plans to demolish the buildings. The Lewes pediatrics office of Earl B. Bradley is now owned by a company whose identity will become known once the property is deeded over next week. The property went to a foreclosure sale last month....."

and

"...Bradley's personal property remains inside."

On the previous page, I provided a link to a summary of an Independent Report concerning Earl Brian Bradley. I found the full report, the "Final Report" submitted to Gov. Jack Markell. It's 62 pages but is important reading for anyone concerned with child safety and the issue of proper and timely reporting. There's also some fascinating tidbits for those who have closely followed this heinous case:

Oh my. It's like reading about a train wreck in slow motion. The only difference is that while the state agencies were slow to move, Bradley was forging ahead, accruing one victim after another. There are many details concerning the communication breakdowns but to me the most poignant paragraphs are these:

"No one can fairly predict whether the purported crimes of Dr. Bradley could have been prevented. However, a tragedy of this magnitude may have been pre-empted if the individuals directly involved had been more focused and alert, less willing to give Bradley the benefit of the doubt, and if they had scrupulously followed the law. Systems were in place to catch a perpetrator, but, they were either not properly accessed, or when called upon, human and mechanical error prevented the appropriate actions from being taken. To be fair, Bradley was extremely cunning. He was a master manipulator, and he had perfected his craft. Based on the allegations, he groomed the parents and the patients to make the children his prey. When the criminal justice system could not stop him sooner because of the methods he used, or the inability of the victims to communicate and protect themselves, or because of the standards of proof required in a criminal case, the civil process should have been employed to protect the public. An over-reliance on the criminal justice system alone prolonged the abuse and terror experienced by innocent children.

Pedophilia is not a new crime, and it is not one that has been easily detected. Further, persons committing these crimes continue to find new ways to hide and gain the trust of children and their parents. In 2007, the National Conference of State Legislatures identified sexual offenders and predators as number five on its top ten policy issues for states. While individuals may consider child sexual exploitation an unusual phenomenon, experts content that one out of four girls and one out of six boys are ―predicted to become victims of child abuse. These incidents may be underreported. Further, researchers estimate that between 3 and 7 percent of adult males have some interested in children. For too long we have focused primarily on stranger pedophiles that lure children away from safe havens to harm them. The reality is more likely than not a child will be violated by someone he or she knows. There are other pedophiles among us. Sexual abuse and exploitation of children by licensees of the state is a very serious breach of the public trust. The revelations of pedophilia by persons who through their status have gained the trust of entire communities are often difficult to accept. We suspend belief that persons who have taken oaths of various kinds including ―to do no harm, could possibly betray their professions and the very persons they have been given the privilege to serve."

And the appeals begin. The defense has made it clear that there will be appeals about allowing in the evidence seized from the building not clearly defined by the SW. I doubt that will change a thing concerning Bradley's life, however. But I just want those families and the entire community to get some closure. They need to move on. Appeals extract blood as the calls, the news articles and the paperwork are daily reminders which bring back the trauma.

Life in prison works for me. However, I have an unfulfilled dream. I wish there was some way to erase the memories of the rapes from the pedophile's mind. I hate to think of them reliving their abuse over and over and gaining any sense of prurient joy from a little child's horror.

While we're at it, can we somehow erase the memory for the child? Doctors are actually working on this, with beta-blockers. I have mixed feelings but I am watching the research.

This statement haunts me:

"....Before sentencing Bradley, the judge addressed the families of his victims, some of whom have struggled with broken relationships stemming from their ordeal and guilt for allowing the doctor to be alone with their children...."

Most people don't know how high the divorce rate is for couples who have suffered through the sexual abuse of a child. It's right on par with those who have lost a child to death. And the guilt never fades. Never. It happened on their watch and it doesn't matter how many kind folks or professionals try to assuage that guilt, it's there and must be lived with.

My heart is filled with hope and prayers for each of those affected by this monster.

Hmmm. Seems that there were other ways to gather this information:

http://www.thirdage.com/news/earl-bradley-predator-pediatrician-contributed-to-charity_08-25-2011

Earl Bradley, Predator Pediatrician, Contributed to Charity
August 25, 2011

"....Years before he was arrested in December 2009, Bradley helped members of his family set up a foundation to help pay funeral expenses for families suffering the loss of a newborn or stillborn baby.

The Associated Press learned of Bradley's links to the foundation through prison visitor logs, which the AP obtained after successfully challenging the Department of Correction's denial of a Freedom of Information Act request...."

more at link (5 pages & a good description of how the esteemed doctor now spends his days)

Heckola, all they would have needed to do is read WS. We posted about the Arrianna Rose Foundation back in January 2010, just two months after Bradley's arrest. We could have saved them a lot of time and money:

Pediatrician Videotaped Sex Acts on Toddlers per Court Documents (Lewes, Delaware) - Page 13 - Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community

I believe it starts with Post #315. I have to wonder if they've figured out about the armed holdup in the parking lot yet?

They need to keep an eye on WS.

One insurance company is trying to distance themselves from Beebe and Bradley:

http://www.delawareonline.com/article/20110902/NEWS/110902029/1003/RSS01

Insurer balks at defending Beebe in Bradley lawsuits
September 2, 2011

"An insurer for Beebe Medical Center in Lewes has filed a lawsuit seeking to free itself from any duty to defend the hospital against civil lawsuits related to crimes committed by Dr. Earl Bradley, who was convicted of raping patients in his pediatrics practice.

St. Paul Fire and Marine Insurance Co. filed its civil lawsuit against Beebe in U.S. District Court days before Bradley, 58, was criminally sentenced to 14 life terms plus 164 years for molesting dozens of his young patients over a number of years. More than 150 plaintiffs are involved in a class-action lawsuit against Beebe, Bradley and other defendants in Delaware Superior Court, seeking damages from the hospital, Bradley and others...."

I saw that. It's a great thing and my guess is that will bring some closure for the community. I've been so saddened to read about the divorces and broken relationships caused by Bradley's abuse. Things like this rip families apart.

I'm just bracing for the first of the appeals to hit.

The structure was demolished today. Meanwhile we have to send up prayers and positive thoughts for all the victims that are suffering.
