Decorah, IA - Bald Eagle Cam: Watch the babies! #2

  • #461
Mom just yawned big time and is nodding off. She's so cute.

Tuned in just in time to see the camera pan the surrounding countryside...the budding leaves on the eagle's tree, the farm, the water, the barn and a close up of the horses. :) Awesome to get an idea of what the eagles are seeing!

Thank you kindly, camerman.

I saw the view from Eagle Manor this morning too! It was a beautiful way to start my day :)

Chatter says owl attack at 2am. Some say dad is MIA? Oh no!

article about the eagloes..
This statement makes me sad though
The camera will be on until about July when it will be switched off so that it does not interfere with the eaglets leaving the nest, Anderson said.

Nooo!!!!!! I don't know what I'll do without these kids!!!

But I don't understand how it would interfere with them leaving the nest? It obviously doesn't interfere with their lives now so what will be different??

I hear a dove nearby. OT I've been watching a dove pair making a nest in my neighbors cherry tree. Perfect view from my kitchen window. It's close too! This is the third year that these doves have been here. But the first time I've seen their nest.

Breakfast is something furry. Kinda looks like it's dad there now. The eaglets are getting big fast.

Skinning the squirrel now... gross.

Wow, the eaglets are getting really big!! I'm just noticing that this a.m.

I started to watch and had to stop it after the owl hit. I almost started crying. That's how attached I'm getting to these sweeties. :(

I feel the same way. That's two nights with an owl problem. I'm really worried for tonight. Seems like the owl is on a mission.

Today mom is shredding breakfast and not feeding the babies. Are they going to start eating on their own?

I'm pretty sure it's mom but it's hard to tell for sure because she's skinning that squirrel right now and shaking her head a lot.

Isn't it really noticeable today how big they're getting?? Wow!

I'm pretty sure the meal gets skinned and then she feeds them. That's what I've seen happen on other days.

This really scares me. I will be devastated if something happens to any of these eagles.

Mom flew out of view and is chattering. She is not happy about something.
