Decorah, IA - Bald Eagle Cam: Watch the babies! #2

  • #641
How in the world will we survive not being able to see them today?

Here is the eagle cam for the Hampton Roads, Virginia eagles. These babies are older. The first egg hatched 3/11/2011. Anyway, I don't intend to follow this one but thought it would be nice to be able to check in on today while we are in withdrawals from our real family.

Is the camera lens covered in bird poop? LOL

Hi, I've notices it just squirts out of their little hinies. :floorlaugh:

I raced over here to see if they are OK blanketed with snow like that. I was only gone 15 min to get some coffee and when I got back the screen is solid white !!!

Logged on at 4:30 this morning (6:30 Eagle time) to watch the morning activity and was so disappointed to see the white out. I did see a brief glimpse of Mom's face. She looked so cold and miserable. Then I check the weather for Decorah and I've been in a bad mood ever since...not a good start to my birthday..

I've watched the Hampton eagles a few times. I'm just not as emotionally invested I guess. They lay around like lazy teenagers! LOL

Thanks, that nest sure is swaying!

Yea, It's like they are in a perpetual rocking chair. Made me a bit dizzy at first. LOLOLOL

There are 3 babies, right? I wonder how long before they go flying?

ETA: It is ice on the lens and they say the eaglets are OK. The ice is starting to melt HOORAY

Is the chat working? I haven't been able to connect to the chat server the last few days. It keeps saying connecting then that there was an error connecting.

I couldn't watch the Hampton eaglets anymore because of the swaying.

I'm excited the ice on the lens is melting. Looks like Bob is panning around.

It's super hard to get into chat. The only time I've been successful is around 4 or 5 in the afternoon. They took the social stream off so I guess everyone is waiting to get in chat and it becomes overloaded.

I check on them daily also. Chat is quit hard to get into. I like to connect just to see if anything new happened that day. I find 4-5 easier also. Closer it gets to 5 harder it gets to get on.

Checked yesterday and my how fast they are growing.

Been watching along with all of you. It is an amazing look at nature isn't it? I'll bet that when that ice melts, those eaglets will look twice the size as they did yesterday!

It makes me shiver just hearing the wind and ice melting today and I'm sitting here baking in the Florida sun!!!

Yes, Kamille, I can't wait to see the little boogers today because I'm sure they will be huge.

I've been in chat off and on today and it is closed for discussion because there is nothing to see really. The mods are just posting information about eagles in general, these eagles and about the camera angles.

The eaglets look bigger every day to me. It seems they grow overnight. Kinda like that gray nose hair I found this morning that wasn't there yesterday! :D

Happy Birthday Sterling!!!!
