catching up so sorry if this has been addressed but unfortunately most states don't allow carry into locations that require a fee for admission. also this theater was a no gun zone so if you were a law abiding citizen you would not have been allowed to have your gun. too many restrictions for citizens that are just trying to protect themselves when obviously criminals don't care about these restrictions.

I've had this discussion with a couple people today (not here), and you are correct, and I do believe I read that this theater had a no firearms policy.

also he was so well armored, you would have to be an excellent shot with lots of practice and within a few yards of him to have killed him. i don't even know if a head shot would have worked since ive heard he had some form of tactical head gear on?? having a concealed weapon may have actually just sealed your fate in this case. he was very well equipped and one sick, sick person

I'm not talking about his hair. I'm talking about coming into the theater with his bullet proof vest, throat guard, and head gear as well as other protective gear, while carrying a rifle would not draw suspicion, to me it sure as heck would!!!

He entered in through the emergency doors in the back of the theater building.

No one is to blame for "not being suspicious" - this mass murderer is the only one at fault here.

They never said he exited. They said that he answered his phone, went to the exit, propped the door open with his foot, waited there for 10 -15 minutes then went and took his seat. At no time did this gentlemen leave the building, all he did was prop the door open. After he took his seat, then it was 15 minutes after that that a guy dressed in all black entered through the exit door that was propped open! This has been confirmed by numerous witness's. They all report that a man took a phone call, and they found it really strange that he went to the exit door, rather then go to the lobby to take the call like most people do.

The witnesses just say someone went to the door from inside the theater.

The official word is that the gunman himself is the one who propped open the door.

"The gunman went to the rear door of the theater and propped it open, then tossed in a canister before starting to shoot, according to a federal law enforcement source involved in the investigation."

Not to mention all the tear gas. I just saw a tweet by some celebrity saying that this wouldn't have happened if HE were in the theater because he always carried. Insensitive. This guy was very prepared and fully intended on staying alive.

I think that's because her companion made it out and called Jessica's mother who then called her brother Jordan. But Jordan hasn't been officially notified as yet according to his blog.

Yes, officials have not named any official fatalities, IIRC.

I agree about the distant stare, but not the lazy right eye. I have a lazy right eye as does one of my sisters. Mine bothered me significantly when I was in my early 20s, teaching, taking grad classes, and not getting enough sleep. I had unpleasant eye-muscle surgery that partially corrected the problem, but 40 years later, when I'm overly-tired, my right eye has a tendency to "wander".

I' not blaming anyone for this except the shooter, all I am simply saying is the guy that answered the phone needs to be investigated to see if it is in fact the same person as the shooter, or if it was someone else that may have helped him get into the theater, such as an accomplice.

Please do not twist my words. That is not what I am saying at all. I just want it ruled out without a doubt that there is no other accomplice. The witness's are saying something completely different, and I tend to trust them more the law officials right now, because that actually saw something, where as the police are just going off of what they are being told.

I hope the police investigate this, even if it is just simply to rule out that someone helped this shooter.

They could have been separated in the panic, or whoever he went with is also deceased (if he is deceased in the first place).

Yeah. Finding out how he got in there is going to answer a lot of questions.

Ok I understand that that is the official word right now. But what else proves that??? It needs to be investigated more fully... Especially with more then one witness coming forward!

As we have seen in other cases, police can get sidetracked and not investigate things right because they are focused on one particular theory. A lot of times things come out, and they are to focused on there current theory that they set it aside. They get tunnel vision. Hope this makes sense

Ok I understand that that is the official word right now. But what else proves that??? It needs to be investigated more fully... Especially with more then one witness coming forward!

In the presser LE said they would continue their investigation, but they are very confident that he acted alone.

Early 20s is when a lot of mental illnesses first show up. He is 24 so it isn't out of the realm of possibility that this is some sort of delusional psychosis. Dropping out of med school suddenly and having no prior record does seem to give that theory merit.

Yeah, people think they could stop something like this but unless they are highly trained (like an undercover cop or soldier or something), it is highly unlikely that, if someone was armed, they could react quickly enough. Most people are first shocked and surprised, then instinctively duck and run. Who is going to take the time to stop, grab the gun, look around, try to figure out, in the dark, among screaming, running people, where and who the shooter is? Too many variables.

This kind of scenario is vastly different from going into a place where you expect gunfire.
