Dog the Bounty Hunter #2

Again...everyone ignored what I said. Do people not want to hear it? They don't want to disagree or agree to what I say. Why?

You shouldn't feel ignored, SS. Several times I've written something only to have someone else say the same thing many comments later and then it's brilliant! :waitasec:

I often don't feel like responding to every comment I read here whether or not I agree.

I agree with you about this though.

It keeps getting brought up because it didn't just happen in the past. It happened in the past and it is happening in the present. Racism and prejudice is very much alive and well. Have you read some of the responses on this thread?:hand:

IMO, some people are sick and tired of being labeled racist and prejudiced just because we don't want Dog's head on a platter. I don't think I've read a single post on here applauding Dog for using the n-word; most responses are that it's an ugly word and NO ONE should use it. But just because everyone doesn't think that Dog should be vilified for it doesn't mean they are racist.

For all of their vile, racist attitudes themselves, I don't see much (not saying not any) people calling for Jesse and Al to lose their jobs. They are the worst hate mongers IMO against white people, blaming white people for anything that could ever possibly go wrong for black people. And when they are wrong, they don't apologize. At least Imus, Michael Richards, Dog, etc. reach out to the black community when they say the n-word. Not that it changes anything, and maybe they do it to save their azz, but at least they try. But that's not good enough. No, they are supposed to lose their livlihood and everything they have and ever hope to have. It just gets old, the double standard.

. . . In "A Time to Kill", Grisham's character says "you don't see me as a man, you see me as a black man". . . .

It's been a while since I read that book, but was the character who said that the same one (played by SL Jackson in the movie version) who lay in wait and murdered 3-4 white men, shooting them down in cold blood as they walked down the front steps of a public building?

Herewith, allow me to express in the weakest terms available my abject condemnation of this racist, bigoted piece of white trash.

"white trash"?
(As opposed to "brown trash" or "black trash" or "yellow trash" or "red trash"?)

The point is: Those who use racial slurs to condemn the use of racial slurs lose their credibility.

People of all ethnicities have the right to feel pride in their heritages. There's no free pass for the use of racial slurs against any race.

Those non-whites who use racial slurs are just as reprehensible as are those whites who use racial slurs.

"Hypocrisy" = "Do as I say, not as I do."

Here's the recording made by Tucker Chapman and sold by him:

To quote from the Constitution: All men are created equal. That say ALL.

I know lots of people who would declare that they are not racist, but would never be seen living in an older neighborhood where there is mostly minorities and their kids school is mostly minorities. I don't think Dog should be fired any more than I think my mailman (if he has ever said one thing about ANY minority) should be fired, but I'd dare anyone to accuse me of being racist because I live around mostly minorities when the rest of my white townsfolk with kids just have to live in the "better" parts of town, and I know exactly why too.

Personally I can't stand the Dog and his show. In one breath he is cussing and calling his bail jumpers everything in the book and once he's sharing a smoke and stuffing their butts in the vehicle, his whole personality flips to a preacher. He loses his show, big whoop te frigging do, No one is taking aways his business and trust me, he makes lots of cash on the folks that don't jump their bonds.

I grew up in a small community that didn't have any black folks until a GM plant in Michigan closed up and sent them here so they could keep their jobs. They were accepted with open arms and treated no differently than anyone else. Our community now is a melting pot of many different races and we don't have racial issues. We didn't chase out the middle easterns folks after 911, nor did we threaten them.

I must admit, I am guilty of using the n*gger word and it is always followed by rigged. It's not meant in a derogitory manner and has never been taken as such. Living alone and not having the funds to do things the correct way, I often use short cuts that work just as well. Especially when it comes to finding something someone has been tossed out in the trash. Hmmm, is it worth dragging home and how can I n*gger rig it so it works for me. Guess I am a bigot and never knew huh?

Maybe, but I still like you and your honesty just the same.

The problem is he used the word to describe a person of color. It was used in a derogatory manner. No matter how you look at it...it's wrong. If she was white he wouldn't have used the word. A&E did the right thing and hopefully it's permanent...

What I got from that recording is that Tucker's girlfriend, Monique, had not only threatened to "whip" Dogg's wife Beth, but had also threated to wear a wire and sell the recording to "Enquirer," in response to which Dogg was explaining to Tucker he could not allow such a snake in the grass to come around to have either of those opportunities. But Monique got the opportunity anyway, via her boyfriend Tucker! ;)

The bigger problem for me is that Dogg seems to be admitting that he, his family members and employees regularly use that word in their workplace and at home and have no intention of changing.

Unfortunately, many parents of color do the exact same thing.
Both are guilty of teaching their children it's okay to use racial slurs.

Hypocrisy = "Do as I say, Not as I do."
(Some parents are guilty of hypocrisy in many things.)

I find it laughable that Monique threatend Beth with physical harm. I saw a picture of Monique and she is tiny. Beth could smother her easily with her breasteses alone. She looks so ridiculous with those gigantic hooters and her trashy way of dressing. But I think I remember early on in the series her saying that Dog likes her that way. She's really pretty with minimal or no makeup, but she chooses the floozy look.

Yes, Beth could take her out with those knockers. LOL

OK, I have a slightly different take, especially after listening to Roy Ennis and another black spokesman talking the other night. I believe they were both in agreement that Dog is not a racist. It was pointed out that he has a black minister, and many black friends, and that his use of the N word was more of an over-familiarity that comes from hanging with so many blacks that treat him like a "brother."

Apparently the issue with Tucker & girlfriend is that Tucker is a "black sheep" within the Chapman clan, having served prison time and being a generally "bad boy." Tucker has not been allowed to participate in the family business, and he wants a piece of it. So he has a black girlfriend that has heard Dog say the N word and has threatened to sell the info to the tabloids. So the taped conversation is to Tucker reacting to that blackmail. Tucker captures it on tape and sells it for a whole bunch of money.

Bottom line is that Dog is not a racist, and yes he uses the "N" word, but not in a context that would make him a racist. And, by the way, isn't it racist to allow the use of a "sensitive" word by a select group of people, while denying other groups of people that same privilege? If that particular word is to be considered sensitive and derogatory, then it should be sensitive and derogatory to all racial groups, right? To believe otherwise is to acknowledge a double standard. And having a double standard is in itself racial bias.

And there are many people who don't consider themselves racist but do not want their children dating someone outside their race.

Every time I see Beth it makes me think of that song that says, "I like my women just a little on the trashy side....". LOL

Don't actions speak louder than words anyway? I mean, n****r is a word and an ugly one, but it's still a word. If Dog doesn't treat black people as if they are beneath him, treats them fairly and has several black friends (REAL friends, not just acquaintances), etc., then doesn't that count for something?

I'm not in any way condoning the use of the word and I'm not taking up for him. I just think that it's wrong to label someone as a true blue racist because of a word, their actions should be taken into condsideration. JMO

Chapman said he is meeting with his spiritual adviser, Rev. Tim Storey, who is black, and hopes to meet with other black leaders, "so they can see who I really am and teach me the right thing to do to make things right, again."

"I know that all of my fans are deeply disappointed in me, as well, as I have tried to be a model for doing the right thing," he said. "I did not do the right thing this time, and hope you will forgive me."

Maybe we can all learn something. It could be a new reality show.
How about calling it "Teaching an Old Dogg New Tricks" ?

Bottom line is: This never could have happened if he didnt use such language. Maybe A&E could make lemons out of lemonade by hosting such a show.
Would anybody watch it?

Then perhaps you shouldn't be saying those things at all:waitasec:

Or perhaps what I say in the privacy of my home is none of anyone else's business. :waitasec:

I've had political correctness up to my eyeballs.
