DR, Sudiksha Konanki, 20, Punta Cana, 6 March 2025 #2

Joshua Riibe won right to leave DR in court on Tuesday, however the judge failed to include provision for return of his passport by DR authorities. Riibe and his lawyer obtained a new passport from the US Embassy and he departed DR on Wednesday, I believe. Unfortunately, upon landing in Puerto Rico he was detained because his new passport lacked the appropriate stamps (both into and out of the DR.) As far as I know, Riibe is still in Puerto Rico.

The St. Cloud State University senior earlier left the Dominican Republic on JetBlue flight 2538. Once arriving in the U.S. territory he was taken by Customs and Border Patrol after an agent said his passport was not stamped by their Dominican Republic counterparts.

A U.S. immigration official confirmed to DailyMail.com that Riibe was questioned over the passport discrepancy before he was released and allowed to board a connecting flight to the United States.

The official declined to provide Riibe's destination under government privacy rules.

so this excerpt doesn’t make sense (which is 100% the fault of the news source and not the readers’.)

Note- Puerto Rico is part of the US so this makes things more confusing. I’ll be honest, I’m confused! Lol.

In this article, the locations and series of corresponding events do not make sense. To get to the United States, Riibe needed to take two flights. One out of the DR to Puerto Rico. Then a connecting flight from Puerto Rico to the United States.

In this article, if you read carefully, They say he left the DR and once arriving in the U.S., he was taken aside by U.S. customs and border patrol and questioned by American immigration authorities before the U.S. then released him so that he could board a connecting flight to the United States.

The US would undoubtedly have admitted him under special circumstances as they approved the issuing of his new passport. Puerto Rico, however, has its own laws. It is not unusual for a person lacking the appropriate stamps both into and out of the country from which they departed before arriving in Puerto Rico to be detained. I have not heard any updates since the news that he was being detained in Puerto Rico.

Thinking of Sudiksha today, who should be back at school preparing for the last push of classes.

From the article: "Puerto Rican television station WAPA showed Riibe's father, Albert Riibe, shouting, 'Ask for your lawyer,' after he was escorted down a hallway.

'Please, just no comment,' Albert Riibe told a reporter. 'No comment is what I said multiple times and I am pretty sure that means no comment.'

'I'm just a regular human. I don't know how to do this stuff. I am just a dad who had his son taken away and I don't understand,' the exasperated parent added before he stormed off. 'We just spent two weeks trying to stay together and now I don't understand, I just ...'

I hope they are home, supporting each other, and staying off social media. I can't imagine that he will even go back to school. MOO

Not to harp on this, but again, that article is unreliable and misleading if you don’t read carefully or if you aren’t familiar with how passport stamp discrepancies can result in detainment. Riibe is not at home because he is being held in Puerto Rico.

And to reiterate how this is not the fault of any readers out there, even People Magazine reported it wrong. The problem is that news outlets prematurely reported that Riibe had returned to the US when he boarded his first flight to Puerto Rico. Since his detainment there, people have continued to falsely report his homecoming.

Posted earlier, it appears the passport issue was resolved. As PR is a territory of USA and his new passport was issued by the USA, the story was hardly worth a news report.

“A U.S. immigration official confirmed to DailyMail.com that Riibe was questioned over the passport discrepancy before he was released and allowed to board a connecting flight to the United States.

The official declined to provide Riibe's destination under government privacy rules. “

Lol I know it was posted earlier, fellow truth seeker, I have replied twice to people using it as a reliable source.

This is an unusual day, but here I offer an article from TMZ updated less than 24 hrs ago with a more cogent report of Riibe’s travels:

I complain about the bad reporting all the time, and struggle to find a reliable source anytime something hits the media like this, but.. I think he is home.

ETA: either way....the original point of my post referencing his travel home. This has been an ordeal for him and his family, and I hope they are taking care of each other.

Yes I think he is home too.

On the topic of bad reporting and keeping in mind DM knows a thing or two about that, is this really an essential component of the story? I think not! LOL

“Sitting on the doorsteps of their three-bedroom, two-bathroom home, purchased for $119,000 in 2015, was a large box from famed Chicago pizzeria Lou Malnati’s.

*Arresting him for being on the beach with a peer, both intoxicated seems absurd to me. It's tragic, but we have no evidence of a crime. They both used poor judgment drinking and going to the water, sure. But their friends were all drunk and near water, and so do countless young, and not so young, people every year. If something turns up to show foul play and/or to implicate him, OK, different story.

Excellent update. Praying for both of these families.

IMO this story has made it clear how people are wrongfully convicted and how fast people are to assign guilt with 0 evidence. Kind of mind blowing imo
