Who is Johnson? I read the article this quote was from and still don’t know.
I don't know either. Maybe a misprint for Joshua. Maybe one of the other guys with the girls.
It's the DM after all.

I'd do it, sure! Watch the sun rise, get a little ocean breeze.
Yes! Please don’t mind me, I was being my cynical self when I read it and commented. Like picturing a mass of guests walking out their doors and down to the beach in unison 😬

In the context I think it’s someone else, but who knows! I thought maybe I missed something.

I suppose LE is checking everyone in the footage, there are other men going towards the beach.

I was just thinking...if there were other people on the beach, they could have been completely oblivious to someone in the water. If she was in trouble and perhaps screamed, they may not even have heard, due to the sound of the waves. Plus I imagine the ocean was dark in the wee hours.

I was taken by a rip tide when I lived in Australia, in broad daylight. No one noticed. Fortunately I had been taught to swim parallel to shore to get out of it. Nevertheless it was terribly frightening...

It sounds like a bunch of drunk people went out to party at 4 a.m. Four went home, two kept on partying. Those two went swimming in riptide water current. At least one was so drunk he was throwing up and passed out. He came to 4 hours later. He went home. The other is gone, her clothes still sitting on the beach.

Doesn't it seem more likely that, if the one who got sick committed a crime, he would have left right away? Joran left right after murdering Natalie and putting her in the riptide. He left so fast that his shoes were still on the beach.

Tragic accident isn't that unusual with middle of the night drunken swimming in riptides. I don't think it is inevitable that her body would wash up on shore.

Yes, it looked like another man was with the group that Sudiksha was walking with ?
By now I'd imagine they've all been questioned.
Omo.

Yes.
After the information released today, I think it is most likely she drowned. Very sad.

There's more info here: videos and photos
Also timing was off,
"While the video time stamp showed 5:16 am local time, Noticias SIN confirmed the surveillance system's clock was inaccurately set an hour ahead - making the time the group was filmed at 4:16 am.

Additional footage showed Johnson and another woman holding hands as they returned from the beach at 5:05 am, 10 minutes before the other two young women had left the beach.

The camera picked up Riibe, barefooted and without his shirt, as he slowly walked back to his room at 8:54 am."
I mentioned in 128 "In that video, I'm seeing SK and JR at the back, three other women and one other man." One of the other women was toward the right in the video and seemed to be with the man; is that Johnson?

I have just caught up reading this thread.

I really do just think this is a tragic accident - after watching the video I do believe the guys story - he looked very drunk and likely did just pass out on the beach. This explains the no call to the police or asking for help as by the time he woke up he just presumed she had gone.

My thoughts go out to her family and I hope they find her soon.

I also send my thoughts to the boy in question (I hope I don’t end up eating my words here but I believe him) he will likely never be able to forgive himself for what happened.

I wish they’d clarify what clothes they found. Was it just her coverup or was it her actual swimsuit/bikini?

I’d find it easier to believe his stories if he had reported her missing or even alerted her friends that something strange had happened. Maybe he doesn’t remember and is scrambling to put together fragmented drunken memories.

Anyway, I hope they have searched the large areas of what look like thick bushes and ponds directly behind the hotel strip. It all looks easily accessible from the beach.

Missing University of Pittsburgh student Sudiksha Konanki's clothes were found on the Dominican Republic beach where authorities believe she was last seen going for a swim, two police sources with knowledge of the investigation told ABC News.

IMO, even if it was her two-piece swimsuit that was located, it would be hard to know whether Sudiksha herself removed it in a drunken flight of fancy (I am sure skinny-dipping could sound like a lark to someone a few sheets to the wind!) or if it was removed by another person OR just by the rough water.

I still wonder if everyone involved even knew each other's full names at the time, or had contact info/room numbers to alert companions at all. The Spring Break culture unfortunately is not very conducive for good choices and clear thinking.
