So is that HIM in the dressy button up white shirt with print also?!?!?! Does that mean some of those clips from earlier in the evening between disco and beach??? Or why the change of shirts??? And then no shirt at all I understand is in the morning I guess after he "woke up on the beach"... But I need some help - cuz the guy in the dress shirt holding the hand of the girl in white (& they are walking alone 4:38 - 4:52), does not look like same guy as the one in the barely there muscle shirt and again with no shirt....but my eyes are bad and the video kinda sux imho. TIA. Where is Sudiksha??!?!?!?! (sadly this case seems to me a clearcut occam's razor but heck the world has gone mad so anything is still possible moo) Even in the dark, with people on the beach --- someone should have heard screaming for help & even come forward by now, but maybe the undertow was so strong she didn't have a chance....................just miffed.

Where is she?!??
No that is not him, it is the other friend with another of the girls. They walk in front of SK ( SK and her friend are those with red arrows)

These are the screenshots from the video in the dailymail article:

And these are the other two men, which I mentioned are going towards the beach AFTER SK went to the beach and the other friends are back towards the hotel:

Not saying they are related, just a mere observation.

Source and credit: Dailymail,

Another strange thing for me, the lights in the lane are ON and the CCTV is working. I thought there was a power outage ?

I thought about this too, but couldn't the man she was with go to the front desk? "Hi, I was out on the beach last night/this morning with a girl who's here from the US with a group of friends. Silly me I was drunk and passed out, I assume she got back to the hotel safely, but would you be able to double check? I don't have her number." ETC.
Just my guessing: J.R. has never checked at the front desk if S.K. had returned to the hotel safely just because he could be very well aware of what happened to her that morning.
Again, I am just speculating.

The new info from the article:

  • The Dominican Republic National Police are forming a new "high-level commission to oversee the case"
  • LE is re-interviewing the people that were with SK, including hotel employees
  • People due to return home, are held longer there for questioning
  • LE asked INTERPOL for issuing a worldwide police alert, known as a Yellow Notice for missing persons

Lengthy article

Assuming somehow she has ended up in the ocean, what’s the likelihood her body would wash up on the beach somewhere? I’m more familiar with lake and river drownings, and can’t seem to think of any cases with ocean drownings. Others know examples?

Just curious if potentially she may wash up to shore, and the family could have some closure?

Missing American college student's hometown sheriff names person of interest five days into search

  • Loudoun County, Virginia Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Thomas Julia told Fox News Digital that 24-year-old Joshua Riibe is a "person of interest" in the college student's disappearance
  • Riibe "has been interviewed at length," but noted its' "still a missing person case, not a criminal case."
  • Riibe has not been accused of any crime in the case.

From this article, another guest explains the situation during the power outage. The beach was pitch black. Important imformation in this interview IMO

Because the beach area is usually off-limits at night, it meant it was unsupervised — and the outage also disrupted lighting, security systems and surveillance cameras

I agree.

The friends reported her missing and not the 'non-suspect' she was last seen with???

Where was her clothing found? Did they wash up? Were they found near last location w/ 'non-suspect'? Or elsewhere???

I don't see how the friends reported her missing and the guy gets up at 5-6am and just continues his day???

According to CNN, Konanki’s sarong-style cover-up was found on a lounge chair on the beach

...“We are aware and believe he is a U.S. citizen who met her there and believe he was at Riu also,” LCSO media relations and communications director Thomas A. Julia told NTD in a March 11 text message.

...Konanki’s parents, Subbarayudu and Sreedevi, arrived in Punta Cana with two family friends on March 9, and filed a complaint asking the authorities to expand the search for their daughter.

...“There is inconsistent information about this that is being sorted by the FBI and the Dominican Republic National Police,” he added. “The FBI has the lead role for U.S. law enforcement working directly with the Dominican Republic National Police.”

This is what ChatGPT says:

The likelihood of a body washing up on the beach in Punta Cana, or any coastal area, depends on several factors, including the ocean currents, the condition of the body, and the weather conditions at the time. Here are some key considerations:

1. **Ocean Currents**: The Caribbean Sea has complex currents, but generally, the water around Punta Cana flows in an east-to-west direction. If the body is carried by the currents, it could potentially wash up on a beach, but how quickly and where is uncertain.

2. **Time**: The body could take anywhere from a few hours to several days or more to wash up, depending on the currents and the condition of the body. However, decomposition and water temperature play a role; colder waters slow decomposition, while warmer waters accelerate it.

3. **Weather**: Strong winds, storms, or high waves might help push the body closer to shore, especially if the wave that caused the drowning was significant. On the other hand, calm weather and weak currents might prevent the body from washing ashore quickly.

4. **Body Condition**: If the person drowned and was submerged for an extended period, there might be less buoyancy, and the body might not immediately float. Over time, however, decomposition gases can cause the body to rise to the surface.

In summary, while there is a chance that the body might wash up on the beach due to the factors mentioned, it is difficult to predict exactly where or when it would happen. In some cases, bodies may be carried away by currents and never wash ashore. Local authorities often work with coast guard services to search for missing individuals, and sometimes advanced technology like sonar is used to assist in recovery efforts.

I tend to agree with US LE that it is too soon to suspect only drowning. A dark beach with cctv not working due to power outage and the nearby ocean, coupled with a drunk man and a possibly drunk woman, makes it extremely convenient for a criminal to act.

Yes and the friends didn’t report her missing until 4pm on return from a scheduled trip. Didnt they think to text/physically check on her on rising given they left her at the beach with unknown male?
What happened to girl code JMO

I hadn't seen this bit on DM, though maybe I missed it, where they are seen leaving the hotel lobby. It does appear that Sudiksha and the guy, while walking arm in arm, seem unsteady. The girls behind not so much. Is the guy holding up his phone taking a selfie of the two?
Yes it does and therefore would confirm that at least some guests had been able to charge their phones despite the power outage!

Starting at 4:38, it appears they are holding hands but (if you look really close) the guy is covertly passing her a cell phone that she covertly tries to stick in her pocketbook. The phone is visible sticking out of the pocketbook until they enter the hotel.

4:38-4:52
I didn’t see that although in the background another large group of people are seen up and about at 4am. I counted at least 9 people. I wonder if they have been traced ?

My ongoing opinion stays consistent

I find it more weird that her friends didn’t report her missing and they had her belongings and phone than I do that the drunk puking passed out guy didn’t.

We're talking about a bunch of young adults in their 20's partying all day, everyday. Their actions don't make sense if they were sober, but they most likely weren't. Maybe he did something to her, maybe he didn't. I'm glad LE is investigating though, but it wouldn't really surprise me if this was just a dumb accident.

Her friends are completely innocent. They are probably devastated. If they had reported her missing sooner, nothing would be different now.

At least the POI admits to being last to see her and is cooprating. Hopefully she is found very soon.

I still wonder if everyone involved even knew each other's full names at the time, or had contact info/room numbers to alert companions at all. The Spring Break culture unfortunately is not very conducive for good choices and clear thinking.
I feel like nowadays, people befriend each other on social media like instantly. So, for me, I feel like they would have some information on each other (thru social media).

I think the problems with that are one, a hotel most likely wouldn't, and shouldn't, confirm whether a guest was checked in, for both privacy and safety reasons. Two, her first name might not be listed on the check-in roster. And three, that beachfront is lined with hotels and she might not have told him which one she was staying at. I'm curious about the extent of surveillance cameras along the resort's stretch of beach and what her friends say. This story says "Konanki arrived in the Dominican Republic on March 3 with five other female students from the University of Pittsburgh." I've only seen the images where she's with three other women and two men. Has anyone seen info about where JR and/or the other man were staying?
