Emergency custody papers filed by mother of JI's son 11/14/11

ummm...not necessarily ~ she never said she was black out drunk.

OK. . .

At best, she was drunk enough to not remember if she was so drunk that she can't remember stuff. At worst, she is lying about what happened that night.

I'm not sure what else she should / could do. Even if she is not capable of being a mom,she may still be alarmed with the idea of her child being with DB.What other avenue does she have ?
It's possible she's straightened up her act,too.

0 to 60 in a short time period?

This woman has 'supervised' visits' and didn't take advantage of that opportunity to see her son. Now all of a sudden she files with the court. Who is her benefactor? Who is helping her?

of course not 0-60 . It takes time to make positive changes. That's not even the point I was making.
Supervised visits could be because she's a flight risk with the child. We don't know.
I'm not saying she's become Mother of the Year, only that she wants to be able to have a court take a look at the current environment her son is in. She probably knows that she won't get custody, but wants to get him away from DB.
It's not unusual for a judge to rule that a (toxic) girlfriend or spouse must leave the home if the child continues to live there. That happens often .In this case it could mean DB would have to leave the home in order for JI's son to to stay.
There's a lot of solutions besides removing the boy and giving bio mom custody,IMO.

Take DB out of it for a second. Do you think the child should be put in RR's care simply because she is his 'mother', taking into account that the lady has no relationship with the boy?

I'd be fine with one of JI's family members if you believe it's not a good enviroment currently. I'm sure they've been more in his life in the past year than RR has in the past 6.

I don't pretend to know what is best for this little boy. I know little to nothing about his bio mom. I do however know that while in the care of DBand while she was self admitted drunk and possibly blacked out, that DB does this adult time of hers several times a week, does not need to be the only caretaker for these children. I will accept whatever a judge decides is best for the children as the judge will have the information at his disposal to make a very difficult decision either way. I will pray for guidance and wisdom for this Judge.

That wasn't the argument.

The original poster said, as if fact, that Debbie never checked her children. That is not correct.

Is it correct to say she was too drunk to remember?

Did she say she has adult time multiple times a week or a glass of wine multiple times a week?

BIG difference 'a couple' and 'several'....just sayin'

Jeremy has never (per them) not been home in the evening before. This SEEMS to be the only time that Jeremy was not home and that the kids were still up...and disaster struck. From what I have seen/heard, Deb was a great mom on the whole. All the kids are well dressed, look very well nourished, happy and content.

What does that have to do with the price of eggs?

When people snap, or lose it, whether the kids were taken care of before hand means nothing.

???? Not sure what this means.

As for the eggs; there is no history of abuse, the police did not remove the other children from the house that night and DB was not arrested for being drunk that night. Apparently DB was not so incapacitated that police felt she was neglectful. It was a night that JI worked overtime; he hadn't done that before, worked overtime at night.

In the case of abuse I don't need "prior" history.

We only know what deborah and jeremy have said.

At this time they have done nothing that would make me believe a thing they have said.

There is no proof of abuse, neglect maybe but not of abuse. No one has come out and said DB is a bad mom or that JI is a bad dad so who are you believing? I have never seen anything reported that says either one of them are bad or abusive parents...........The police have talked to a lot of people including the boys I am sure if there were any signs of abuse the boys would have been removed and CPS would be doing visits which the media would have seen when they were camped out. Do you really think LE would leave the children in a dangerous abusive household? Especially when the case that involves them is national news and the media was all over it.

Can you clarify what you meant in your post about abuse? I'm not sure what you mean to say. Thanks.

There is abuse in this case? There is no evidence that any of these kids have suffered abuse, prior or during that night.

With the gag order in place and absolutely zero real information regarding this matter, this whole thread feels like it is simply an exercise in the above emoticon. All this thread seems to accomplish is encourage members whose opinions differ to continue to rehash the same old nonfact enhanced debate that has been occurring for months now.

I am now dizzy and I have only been in lurk mode, not really participating.

Time for me to climb off this spinning teacup.

As did little Caylee Anthony. A picture doesn't always tell the truth and what happens behind closed doors we will sometimes never know.
From where I sit whomever can deem her a great mom on the whole, but I disagree from what I know.
A great mom doesn't ever put herself before her children.
I would love to know if when Jeremy was home if they both ever got drunk while in charge of their children.

No evidence of abuse given to us doesn't mean abuse never happened, in this case or another.
