"She was arrested on Monday following the discovery of a body in a house in Newcomen Road, shortly after 3am that morning.

"A forensic post-mortem investigation, which took place today at Leicester Royal Infirmary, gave the preliminary cause of death as being a result of sharp force injury. "Police and firefighters had attended the address after reports came in of a fire at the property. Inside, police officers found Marta’s body and paramedics sadly declared her dead at the scene at 3.29am.

The family of a 43-year-old woman - believed to be Marta Bednarczyk - who was murdered in Wellingborough, have written a moving tribute to the caring woman they describe as “the matriarch of the family”.

Marta was killed following an incident inside an address in Newcomen Road at about 3am on Monday, March 10.

“Marta was the matriarch of our family. She was a very caring woman, a loving mother, and a supportive friend who could never do enough for those she loved.

“She moved from Poland to the UK in 2010 - first to London and then to Wellingborough in 2012, where she worked in a warehouse in order to bring money home for her family.

“She was engaged to her long-term partner Eugene and had a small but tight network of friends and family.

Just a bit of background info about Wellingborough.

What a tragedy.

Reporting on my post to ask a Mod to add England to the thread title.

A 13-year-old girl has appeared in court charged with murder and arson.......

The girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, clutched a teddy throughout the brief hearing at Northampton Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.

She spoke only to confirm her name and date of birth during a four-minute hearing before three magistrates, where the case was sent to the crown court.

In the afternoon hearing at Northampton Crown Court, where the judge and lawyers removed their wigs and gowns, the teenager was allowed to leave the dock and sit next to her lawyer.

She was remanded into secure detention accommodation until her next appearance at the same court on 11 April.

I'd be very interested to know what caused the girl to do this.
How shocking.
I'm thinking she must be the woman's daughter too.

I don't like where this story is taking me ...

From the timings, firefighters called at 3am, I think we can assume the 13 year old is a relative, either her daughter or step daughter or niece perhaps 😢 A 13 year old stranger wouldnt be in someone's house at that time when the arson was set!
There could be so many situations why this youngster felt the only way was to do this to Marta, I guess it will all come out at the trial. How incredibly sad, Marta sounds like a good woman who was very loved!
I wonder if the girl was told to carry the teddy bear by her defence in an attempt to make her appear sweet and innocent?🥴

"Opening the case for the prosecution, Samuel Skinner KC said it
'may never be known' why Ms Bednarczyk died.

Although he recognised that the jurors
'may have sympathy' with the girl because of her young age, he added:

'Marta was not armed with a knife.
Marta did not deserve to be murdered.

This is about the girl making a deliberate decision to arm herself with knives,
and a deliberate decision to stab her victim repeatedly'."

Thank you for reminding me about this one @Dotta

"The jury at Lincoln Crown Court heard
that the teenager stabbed Marta Bednarczyk at least 143 times
at a terraced house in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire,
in March this year.

Before the death of Ms Bednarczyk
the teenager had searched on the internet for a forum
featuring images of murder, torture and executions.

Giving evidence to the court on Tuesday,
Dr Tina Irani, a consultant forensic psychiatrist,
said that, in her opinion,
the defendant was not suffering from any recognised mental health issues
at the time of the killing."

I haven't seen anything about how she knew this lady!? Have I missed it?

Stabbing someone 143 times is PURE anger! It's horrendous to imagine anyone stabbing a person that many times, and then you are reminded this was a 13 year old girl!

So the girl wasn't depressed but she was definitely depraved!
And I'm grateful this isn't being (doesn't seem to be) blamed on the girl having some sort of neurodiverse/personality disorder/mental health disorder either.
Maybe she was just Evil!?

"During her evidence to the panel of 11 jurors,
the girl said of the fatal attack:

'It felt like my entire mind shut down.
I just wasn't in control of my own body
– it was as if it was moving on its own'.

'It's as if my head was separated from my body
– as if it was two different parts'.

Asked by Ms Prior what she could hear,
the defendant answered:

'Voices in my head telling me that I am in danger.
Also at the same time I can't remember a lot of it – it's still hazy now'.

Describing the voice or voices,
the accused added:

'It was like a mix of a male voice and a female voice
and also a buzzing at the back of my head.
Noise just going through it'.

'I felt as if there was a path leading me somewhere
and my body was just following that path.
I only remember that my body just lunged forward'."

I always assumed the girl is the daughter of the victim and they can't reveal that as then the girl's identity would be known.

Moo...what she describes is..de-personization or de- realization or..I know there is a word for it. It is usually PTSD originated. I know I have had that experience..not fun. I felt like I was in the back of my mind just watching what I was doing. Very detached. Moo
