A bit confusing that he says to look at what's in the media and to connect the dots, then later on they say that anything not coming from their mouths is probably false.

Desiree said if it's not coming from her, question the source. Since she was talking about info regarding her relationship with Terri I think she was pointedly speaking about the comment of Terri's friend.

She said it was installed after Kyron went missing.

I don't understand how that stuff works, why on earth would they get a call on Kyron being missing this Monday if it was installed AFTER Kyron went missing?

They were recording notifications all year but not sending them out? :waitasec: *sigh*

Is this true, they had the call system?

Sorry for the confusion. The school just installed it and DY knows it works because she got a call that he wasn't at school. Well of course he isn't. He's missing.

Yes, I remember hearing this in the first few days, that TH called DY to go ahead and leave. But, they didn't. They were at home when they got the call about Kyron being missing. A neighbor said they were in a huge rush to leave after they heard.

I can't find where I read that and when they were called. Maybe some else can?

*snipped*

That was me who shared that information. I was Tony & Desiree's neighbor for many years and after Kyron went missing, I drove over & spoke to a neighbor who shared that Tony had been getting his boat ready for a fishing trip when they got the phone call that Kyron was missing & they (Tony & Desiree) were in a huge rush to get out of the house & up to Portland.

I think the reason one of the reporters stated that Terri was supposed to drive south on I-5 is simply to clarify for people who might not know where Eugene is in relation to Portland (it's about 115 miles south of Portland & 165 miles north of Medford).

Oh my goodness! This can't be true...I hope not...

how heartbreaking:(

I know, how insensitive.

For those that haven't watched the interview...the school got the automated callback system working the Monday after Kyron disappeared and didn't have the forethought to remove his name from the list of students who should be in class. Thus Kyron's contacts, Desiree and surely Kaine or Terri too, got an automated call saying Kyron was absent. A little thing but still salt on the wound.

I listened to the Medford statement again and the reporter said TH was to drive to meet DY in Eugene.

I noticed something else that I noticed and forgot...when DY is talking about what's most frustrating she says something along the lines of Kryon is somewhere, and we don't know where and "THEY'RE" not sharing. Who is THEY?

BBM

Eugene? That's kind of out of the way. I-5 doesn't pass through Eugene. :waitasec:

From what Desiree said, I took it to mean they got a call yesterday (Monday)? That Kyron was not in school? Or did she mean the Monday of June 7th? What does anyone else think? Did the school have that up and running by June 7th? Her voice caught when she answered that...it made me sick for her, either way...
Yesterday would not make sense, though, since school has been long over, so I am baffled.

When I heard her say that, I took it to mean the Monday after he went missing. In fact, and I don't have an article to quote here, but I recall an early article that stated that all of the parents of the school received a call Friday evening about Kyron not showing up for school that day, but I could be mistaken...it could have happened Monday and maybe that is what DY is referring to. FYI my kids school (an elementary school K-5) has an automated phone alert system whenever a child is absent. However it doesn't call until the evening hours (I assume because that's when parents are home to get the call in the event their child skipped school without permission). So even if Skyline had one when Kyron went missing, if it was a "typical" one (based on my experience) it would not have called the Horman household until around 5 or 6pm....which would have been too late, obviously. As a side note, even my high school had an automated phone alert system and that was 15 years ago!!!

That was hard to watch. You can tell her and her husband are both trying hard to keep from breaking down.

BTW her hair is straight again . So can we please put the perm crap to rest.

Really? Maybe they were to meet half way to a fishing/camping location?

i just watched the heartwrenching newsconference...

One thing that confused me (and maybe I'm just tired, and have forgotten something or misunderstood???) but she was talking (at about the 10 min mark?) about how she cherishes the time with THE BOYS in the car on their drives... is there another sibling on DY's side?

  • #191
No it was the Monday after he went missing. One of the reports remarked about it being a mistake * or something like that* and mom replied back quickly that no as he was missing. She seemed very upset ( as I would be) that the school did not have the system set up before but was glad that they have it set up now.

I wondered about that also. Maybe she means her husband and Kyron. I call my husband and our sons my boys all the time.

OT, but the little girl in Missouri was found safe, dropped off at a car wash, apparently...amazingly...

DY does have a teenage son, either he rides up with her or he lives in Portland too, not sure...

WOW! That school just seems to stay a step behind, doesn't it? Ugh!

What???

The school did NOT have an automated call back system in place.

I think the original poster is stating that one was put into place AFTER his disappearance, and that NOW they are receiving the call notifying that he is not in school:(

talk about salting the wound...i feel so sorry for them...receiving that call after he was missing would be so heartbreaking

Her mom and dad are with her. Why can't they make her talk. Or is it another case like the Anthonys...screw everyone except for the murderous daughter. My god, they have to go back home in live in their community. Do they feel no shame, humiliation, guilt? I'm sorry but if they were my friends, I would wash my hands of them. Supporting a murderer of a child, who needs friends like that. Well parents of Teri step up and act like a parent.

This is a very hurtful and personal statement. We know little of TH's parents. I'm sure their hearts are breaking too....and no, they can't make TH say anything. TH is an adult. I'm not sure how they are handling things with her but I know its not easy. If my friends wash their hands of me due to something my adult child may or may not have done, then what kinds of friends are those? There is not an automatic off switch for people who love their children, just because they are adults who do or say bad things. I am praying for all of them. So sad.

Oh no, the new automatic call system at the school called the parents to let them know Kyron isn't there.

FWIW, I said "new"

I don't think appealing to Terri is working...that is why I said to direct the appeal to the "accomplice" (who I don't believe in) just in case that is their theory...he/she must be panicked about now...and is hoping to be told what to do and Terri sure can't make contact...it is via TV or nothing, if LE does not have a clue where to look...

I don't think it would help...but it might make Terri think they know something?

I agree that guilt will not help, but their real goal, I think is to scare her into some sort of confession/plea. These press events demonstrate that Desiree has the public's sympathy, meaning that TH has lost the public's trust and support. To have Tony, a detective, imply she is guilty should have her and her lawyer scared about what evidence they have. The point here is to get her to plea.
