Not sure I could return. I hope they are receiving counseling for PTSD.

I know right! They are so brave. To witness what they did, and some still healing from their wounds. I'm not so sure I could return either. They are all so young.

Staging house of that size with a cute furniture would cost thousands. It was a short sale as it is.

People stage for a business. They have furniture onboard . Cleaning it up and ditching the piles would make it so much better for free.

Even if it was a short sale, that does not mean that it should not be made presentable for a higher price.

Some nice bedspreads, furniture arranged pleasantly, some vases of flowers. Anything to give it a feeling of warmth, class and caring.

It was a short sale. LC was walking away with zero, she would have no motivation to spend any extra money on staging. The realtor would have been cutting into her own profit, and wouldn't have had the pay back to make it worthwhile.

We are talking about a house worth a lot of money. Some clean up, some nice bedspreads, some cute throw pillows, some nice paintings, some vases of flowers. How much would that cost to rent from a stager.

Just getting rid of the trash and clutter. This is a high end home in a desirable area,

Staging a house with furniture is expensive, and much harder to do when the house currently has furniture and the owners are still living there. Staging is great for spec homes or unoccupied homes. The only thing I found odd was that they didn’t put a sheet on the mattress on the floor.

Getting rid of trash and clutter. A tablecloth can go a long ways on covering up ugly tables such as in the office,

Doesn’t she owe the difference in money? Or does the bank say, “ Oh well.”

I agree. In the very least regardless of what type of sale things could have been made to appear tidy within an hours time.

Staging does not require furniture or a hefty budget. If it’s available great, if not stage accordingly. Remove the trash, personal sentiments, a random mattress on the floor, etc. There was plentiful room to tuck things away.

It’s just sad to look at the house she hoped to have been a place for her and the boys to call home, and all that that represents. Instead she is hit yet with another round of exploitation.

The lack of dignity in this seems callous to me. Being as this is a more so publicized listing due to the tragic circumstances it would have been kind to make an effort on her behalf.

I wonder what happened to the doggie...

Seems like the poor woman had a really hard life since her husband died..

Would she have had to find the funding for all the special services Nik needed, or would they have been state funded?

They appeared to have had such an idyllic life prior to his death.. it's an utterly tragic story.. I have never felt such overwhelming compassion for a perpetrator.

I wonder how he's coping with jail?

By all reports I have seen the sale of the house was a short sale. She wasn't going to get any of the proceeds. Staging the home would have benefited the bank, not her.

How is he coping in jail? As far as I am concerned, I hope they put him in general population to see how he likes it.

If there was a large some of money that was to go to the kids when they were a certain age, it sounds to me like that money was likely in some sort of a trust. That money/property would not be part of the probate estate and passes outside of probate.

Or there is no money. So far nobody has found proof that these money exist.

The agent selling the homes in high end areas knows this.m I feel she was really taken advantage of. What would be the commission on sail. Geez, no correction!

You have to live within your means. Which in her case presumably means she should have sold it soon after her husband died. Doesn't appear she could afford the house.

This is not avout him. It is about the mother. The mother getting ripped off by the agent who did not care to tell her to fix the house up for sale.
