If he had no decent health insurance, he would be probably thinking twice about going to the hospital. :twocents:

He had time to think about health insurance?

I don't have health insurance and one night I was home by myself and my heart started palpitating and I was really dizzy and I called 911 and they came, took my blood pressure, did an EKG, and took me to the hospital because my blood pressure was really high. I didn't even think about health insurance.

In the end, it was a panic attack. I thought I was having a heart attack.

But, maybe I'm just not as calm as George Zimmerman when it comes to my health?

Also, the officers/investigators apparently did try to charge under the unnecessary killing statute. I say that because it has been reported that LE was told by the prosecutor that the case was not solid enough.

They can try to charge him with a crime all the live long day. That doesn't mean anything with respect to the responding officers' reports.

  • #643
They can only ask them to go to the hospital for drug testing otherwise they can decline to go. While LE was not asking for him to be tested IMO once he was in the hospital they probably would have made that request. Funny GZ did not want to go to the hospital but all of a sudden according to him he had some serious injuries consisting of a broken nose and a cut on the back of his head that should have had stitches. jmo
Oh. Your saying that GZ declined having his injuries treated at a hospital to avoid a drug test. Maybe.

Since Zimmerman was never questioned, I wonder who he was talking to when he said he was screaming for help, but no one would help him...

The medic that was helping him. <modsnip>

That is also some very good advice.

It's also a song by Rick Springfield. :blushing::blushing: I swore I was gonna marry that man.

In most instances don't talk to strangers is very good advice BUT if you are a kid, and you are lost or in trouble, and someone does not approach you closely, but simply askes you from a distance away if you are in trouble, then I think most lost or in trouble kids would tell you....Then is the time to call 911, if the kid responds by flipping you the bird, an ugly comment or rolls their eyes, it is highly likely that they really aren't in trouble....

I just don't get freaked out by a strange 9 yr old walking on the sidewalk by my house, no matter what color they are.

Official: Suspension wasn't for tardiness

By David Weber

<snipped>

"But Miami-Dade Public Schools spokesman John Schuster told the Orlando Sentinel that the school district "does not suspend for tardinss."

He also said: "No one has been suspended this year for tardiness at Krop."

According to the Florida Department of Education, schools are not permitted to suspend students for tardiness under a state law that spells out that "no student shall be suspended for unexcused tardiness, lateness, absence, or truancy."

<snipped>

Looks like some one is lying about why Martin was suspended. And people are claiming it's the SFD doing all the lying?

Last year, my oldest son's bus starting coming way early and he missed it 3-4 days in one week. Which meant he was tardy to getting to school by the time that I got my other 3 DS up, fed, dressed and out the door so I could take him to school. And, the AP called me and said that if he was late again, my DS would be suspended. Well, it's good to know that's not true!!

And none of this points to the guilt of either party. Zimmerman's 911 call ended before the confrontation. Let me put it this way - if they had a 911 tape that clearly stated Martin was attacked and defended himself, do you think the police should release it to the public and risk the chance of a mistrial? It would be very easy to claim that any possible jurors heard that tape, taken out of context, and can no longer reliably and impartially juror the case.

They released every possible call and document in Casey Anthony's case didn't they? Before she went to trial. I didn't follow that case as closely, but just because evidence is out there doesn't mean the jury pool is tainted.

Or alcohol?

He could have been in shock and not realized how bad his injuries were. JMO

How would GZ being arrested be vengence?

Just askin'.......................

JMHO

He has to be charged and before he can be charged
they have to do a full investigation. jut hanging the man is not a good idea, the is not some crazy country with no rules. Trayvon deserves justice YES HE DOES. but he also deserves honesty and we need to get it investigated, charged,,,, and,,,,
Seems there is a new law in place and everyone is unclear how this is going to play out. or if it will.

And what would you tell your child to do if a big, strange man approaches them?

Well, according to some posters here, the child should politely and humbly answer whatever question the big strange man asks.

  • #652
And yet release all but just that one?

Nope

JMHO

Wouldn't this mysterious 911 caller have come forward by now with this case breaking news? Or are they waiting like Casey Anthony for those big buck interviews. If they are holding a 911 tape it's probably the one TM supposedly made. jmo

  • #653
I'm sure everything this man said is true...except the goon thing but maybe, who knows but he seems sincere. And under normal circumstances I think if we met GZ we would instantly like him. But most people agree that poor judgment and a gun don't mix well. jmo

Or rather poorly controlled anger/bruised ego when getting bumped on the nose by an (inferior in your mind) scared dark skinned kid do not mix well with a loaded gun.

GZ knew Trayvon was visiting his father and that he did not live in the complex. GZ could have seen him leave and come back earlier or on another day. GZ kept a close eye on the comings and goings in the neighborhood.

How could he POSSIBLY have known that Trayvon was visiting his father's girlfriend's home?

It seems quite clear to me that he didn't know this young man. I can't imagine how he could have known him. There certainly is no evidence to suggest he did.

  • #655
Why would a reporting officer make that determination, especially when they state they handed the case over to major crimes?

But didn't Sanford PD make just that determination by deciding GZ was covered by SYG? :waitasec:

It does if certain evidence gets suppressed that was already seen in the public eye. This is why a grand jury hearing is not public.

I don't understand why if it was written in the hard copy of a newspaper, why it's not on the website? That's pretty big accusations? I know where I am from, they have suspended kids too?

If it's against the law to suspend kids or even threaten to suspend kids from school for being late, maybe someone should be held accountable for that?

  • #658
But they released all the other ones?

Nope, don't buy that.

JMHO

And, they released the 911 calls several days after they said they were done with their investigation. And, only due to public outcry, IMO. I don't buy it either.

Page 2, last sentence

Police said 911 tapes had since been released. Police claimed to have released the 911 tapes, they never said all but just that one guy's.

Can't be much clearer.

Sanford PD is not the responding officers.

The police report we have is the affidavit from the responding officers. Nothing more, nothing less. This is only the two officers that responded to the scene. This has nothing to do with major crimes, or any other division within the department. These were the guys that secured the scene until major crimes came and took Zimmerman to the police station to get interviewed.
