Still, the big question remains, who initiated contact?

Well, who was on the bottom? George.

That suggest to me, that Trayvon struck the first blow. He is 6" taller than
George and one would assume he has equally longer arms and reach when throwing a punch. That gives him the distinct advantage in a fist fight. He can connect with George's nose with his longer arm. George can swing all he wants and not make contact with Trayvon.

In the sport of boxing, this is called the "tale of the tape".

I guess the SYG law only applies to people who have loaded weapons. If you only have your fists, it doesn't come into play. Not quite fair, is it?

Where did you get this idea? If can manage to kill someone with your fist, you can still claim self-defense.

Sorry, a dark mark on the TOP of his head doesn't match the description of the beating he took. It doesn't even look like a wound. If the police had photos of a beaten up GZ they would have released them to quell some of this tension and show that he was defending himself. They have not done so. Not to mention, Trayvon's body was found face down in the grass, facing away from the sidewalk - it doesn't add up.

Also - GZ was not taken to the hospital - a head bashing into the sidewalk? They would have taken him in an ambulance, whether he wanted to go or not. He could have died from something like that. IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE.

I once was in an accident. I was not black and blue till the next day. I thought I was OK after the accident.
So go ahead and don’t believe anything. but try not to jump to conclusions about what really happened because we do not know yet.

Wow. This sums it up for me. Perfectly stated.

Sitting in traffic is peaceful?
I'm sure that's disturbing the peace for people who need to get somewhere.
Taking over lobbies is disturbing peoples peace also.

Not my definition of peaceful.

Well, I suppose you're right! I wouldn't feel it was peaceful either if I couldn't get home or get out of my office.

But, it's different than a riot, which is what I was trying to say.

And it is true that riots can be spawn from moments of civil disobedience. But anything can cause a riot. I think there have been more peaceful demonstrations in modern history in our country, at least peaceful in the sense that the participants didn't start rioting, looting, beating people up, turning cars over, lighting things on fire, than there have been riots as a result of a political demonstration.

Usually what happens when there is a riot is some rabble rousers come in and try to mess things up. An already tense police force responds and mayhem ensues. I understand why people have some anxiety that such a thing could happen in such a situation but I don't see Jackson or Sharpton inciting such a thing at all.

Think about it. How would a riot help their cause in any way? It's the last thing they want.

And, while in times of economic stress when there is a racially-tinged incident, peaceful demonstrations can turn ugly, I don't believe we should anticipate that here or predict it.

I think we need to differentiate between those who cause trouble and those who do not. The New Black Panthers, Spike Lee and now Roseanne Barr, (yeah, that's right: http://www.businessinsider.com/rose...riticizes-everyone-for-criticizing-her-2012-3) are trouble makers who are inciting serious violence and should be ashamed, if not arrested. I see a big difference between those advocating that Zimmerman and his family should face violence and those clamoring for justice.

Unless he was a threat to himself or someone else at that moment the could not force him to go to the hospital if he did not want to. He does have a legal right to refuse treatment.

THE THREAD IS MESSED UP - lookes like a reply to me, but it was not my post...

Regardless of whether you agree with my assertion or not, the next question is, is this the proper venue to address this? He's latching onto this event for his own agenda. As I stated before, it doesn't exactly seem like his top priority is getting justice for the Martin family.

I think it's okay. I think justice for all black people is his goal. For him and for millions, this case is a sign that there is still a long way to go.

I would like to know, if you all do, who released the video of GZ last night being taken for questioning. Did LE take credit? Or was it another leak?

Jesse Jackson is a disciple of MLK, was there when he was killed. His rhetoric is no different. The vast majority of the country in the 1960's did not think MLK was for harmony, which is why he was gunned down. What makes Jesse Jackson any more of a divider than MLK?

Jesse just out right lies and looks real stoopid when he does it.

:floorlaugh::floorlaugh: You are cute...

here is your BBM.
I do think THIS case, as far as GZ is concerned is not a racial case.

LE??? Maybe. I just don't know.

But it really rubs me the wrong way when people call GZ a racist because we don't have any information that says that.

That is not what he is doing at all. If you think he isdoing that I feel sad :(
IMHO he creates more of a divide.

I don't know,ask Alveda King...

Alveda King: Sharpton, Jackson should stop ‘playing race card’ over Trayvon Martin

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s niece is criticizing the Rev. Al Sharpton and the Rev. Jesse Jackson for politicizing the Trayvon Martin shooting and leveraging racial tensions to rile up Americans.

Alveda King should in now way be tied to the beliefs of MLK. She is a niece, right-winger, radical anti-abortionist -- and his niece -- not even part of immediate family. Let me know when you hear from Coretta.

MARTIN LUTHER KING JR.s FAMILY is keeping him AUTHENTIC. That is the truth.

I totally agree with her. I loved MLK and I always will I do teach cultural diversity and use him a lot with Passion.
I will never use Al Sharpton, or Jackson not ever. I do not think they represent the King well at all.

To state that anyone here is claiming TM was killed BECAUSE he had Skittles and iced tea is really disingenuous.

What Horace was saying is What I've seen too.

I've seen it many times over in threads.
