I thought Zimmerman's father conceded that Zimmerman had the gun "shelled" or "shown?" How would Trayvon not seen the gun before the shot if he was fighting Zimmerman for it?

Exactly, and obviously the father is only repeating what GZ says.

So did GZ have the gun out all along, but "tweaking" it to, I was reaching for my cell phone and Trayvon saw it? Keeping in mind, Trayvon is no longer here to dispute it.

The race issue started when GZ called 911.Do you really think he would have made the same phone call if Trayvon was white?

AMEN, AMEN, AMEN!! Everyone has George Zimmerman to thank for this becoming a racial issue.

I do want GZ protected. The bounty on his head is frightening and terroristic in nature to me.

I would also like to see GZ arrested. This case is too hinky. The john doe in the morgue, parents having to file missing persons report, no gun allowed on neighborhood watch, no drug test or sobriety test, video of GZ with no apparent injuries from stated attack, slow slurry speech on 911 call etc. etc. etc. Let him have his day in court and be given full rights accorded to him by law. But may he not be arrested because of threats of escalation. How dare they.

He put himself in that position. If he would have listened to the 911 dispatcher and stayed in his car he would be nice and comfe at home right now. This is the reason we have LE.

How and why does that matter?

I would like to know what forensics on Trayvon's clothes provide. Same with Zimmerman's. No one saw how the fight started. We only have Zimmerman's word. With forensics done on Trayvon's clothes, we should be able to tell if Trayvon himself had been on the bottom at any given time during the altercation.

A lot of people have wanted to jump to the conclusion because a witness seen George on the bottom, but they have no idea if Trayvon was ever on the bottom? His clothes should tell us that.

Great point!
I didn't think of that.

No reason to bag the hands for residue.

They usually bag the victim's hands to see if there is any skin residue under the nails. During a fight sometimes people scratch the person they are fighting with. jmo

The only thing I see in that is that you can break a law responding the wrong way to a neighborhood watch person.

If a moderator would like to delete my post that has offended some, I will have no problem with that? I was simply taking the words released by George's family/friend/lawyer and wrote it out as a sequence of events to show George's side of what he said happened that night. If you're offended by that, I really am sorry.

It was in no way intended to demean or disrespect victims of violence.

Just so you know, Lola, I thought your 'script' was very well written and creative and I'm pretty sure I understood the intent as sarcasm at the slant of GZ as lord and savior of the neighborhood. I ESPECIALLY liked your mention of him as protector of small kittens, ha HAH. Nice piece of creative drama. It's just too bad that this whole fiasco is so very very sad.

Zimmerman's blood should be on Trayvon too. I think forensics is going to be huge in this case. I just hope that they collected, documented, photographed, everything properly.

If George was aggressive and wanted to murder Trayvon for "WWB", he didn't have to wait until he was on the ground and on his back.

The gun wasn't produced until George was on his back being beat up.

Trayvon didn't know about the gun, until George stuck it in his chest and pulled the trigger. A smart man doesn't run towards a gun...

I thought the story goes they were fighting over the gun?
GZ's story makes even less sense if Trayvon did not see the gun.

Great point!
I didn't think of that.

No reason to bag the hands for residue.

There is a reason to DOCUMENT every single piece of evidence in a shooting death.

Exactly....and you can bet that I would be scratching the you know what out of anyone who was beating my head on a sidewalk. And poking at their eyes...and....well they would have some visible damage on their faces for sure.

In the weeks since Trayvon Martin’s death, the impact on American culture has been passionate and broad, from musicians and poets who believe justice has been denied to a major Hollywood studio making changes to the advertising campaign of a movie in which the trailers are eerily parallel to the moments before the teen was killed.

Much like with other tragedies or natural disasters, the artistic world has drawn inspiration from the case despite its swirling controversy, producing a growing string of rap and gospel videos, a music tribute led by R&B singer Chaka Khan and several independent short films posted on YouTube. And Twentieth Century Fox executives, sensitive to the case, hastily pulled the posters and trailer from Florida theaters for Neighborhood Watch, a summer science-fiction comedy starring Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn and Johah Hill. The trailer, which first appeared days after Trayvon’s February 26 shooting by a neighborhood watch volunteer, features Hill using his hand to imitate shooting at a group of teenagers. The poster featured a bullet-ridden neighborhood watch sign with a shadowy figure in the center.

There is some merit to this post, but but but
Why would you need to test his hands? he said he shot him
so there wont be more proff then that on his hands.
I read someplace that his jacket was taken.

Because . . . it's standard procedure to bag the hands of a shooter. The police didn't follow normal procedures, which is why we are here talking about this now.

They can tell a lot by the residue on the shooter and on the dead person. For instance they can tell whether the shot happened at close range or further away.

The truth only comes out when procedures are followed and facts are gathered. Excuses for why they didn't do certain things are not going to cut it with the public or the justice system.

The police should have treated Zimmerman with objectivity, which means treating him like any other perp. It was his word against a dead boy on the ground, and the police are not the judge and jury there on the scene.

How badly do you have to be beaten before you are allowed to stop the assault my any means necessary? Are you required to wait until your head is cracked open like a cantaloup? How many punches is enough?

That's what self defense is all about. You are not required to let someone maim you before you are allowed to defend yourself with deadly force.

Also, I think HIPPA requires a court order.

The way I read SYG, you do not even need a scratch. Just the fear that somebody is going to do your harm big time. Just a verbal "I am going to kill you" from a distance would suffice. That is why GZ's dad conveniently inserted that in his interview IMO.

and has often been at odds with the rest of the King family, especially when she leant her famous name to kooky Glenn Becks "Restore America" events on Dr. Kings birthday. She's anti-gay too which was not exactly a big part of Dr. king's work. She's basically made a living out of her being Kings niece saying how she can invoke the King legacy and denigrate the late Corettas views about MLK such as that he would have supported marriage equality because
I've got his DNA. She doesn't.

Not someone I find compelling.

Alveda King: Sharpton, Jackson should stop ‘playing race card’ over Trayvon Martin

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s niece is criticizing the Rev. Al Sharpton and the Rev. Jesse Jackson for politicizing the Trayvon Martin shooting and leveraging racial tensions to rile up Americans.

I doubt that a proper investigation was done at the morgue and ME too. I hope I am wrong.

I seen the trailer for the movie "Neighborhood Watch" and it looked hilarious, but with how this happened, I think it should be shelved. The character's play overzealous Neighborhood Watch men and there is even a scene where they are grilling a child.

the video evidence taken shortly after the killing does not show a severely beaten man. He was cleaned up by the fire department-did they wash and iron his clothes? The police report? When was it written? By who? The same police that sent the killer home and publicly declared his innocence prior to the conclusion of the investigation. This police dept has a history of racial incidents. The chief who just stepped down had been brought in to "clean the place up" after a previous racial incident.

HIPPA? There is nothing preventing GZ and his atty from releasing the medical records which would show his severe injuries. As of yet, I have no idea how many people in Sanford are in on the effort to cover up and whether that's because they intended to do this or because they need to cover up the shoddy police work they thought they could get away with.

Ita, but I don't think he sought medical attention. It would have been better if he had, imo.
I don't think there is a cover up. I just think there was a "too quick to judgement response by the SA." It should have been investigated more thoroughly, imo. I can't understand why the SA gave up so easily. They had to know this was going to ignite a firestorm. The whole incident should have been given top priority, imo. That didn't happen, and here we are. :seeya:
