I heard Crystal's mom (bio mom's mom) say she hadn't wet the bed in two years...now...do we believe her? I don't know. I don't really know what urine on the blanket has to do with Haleigh going missing tho or why we have spent an hour on the subject. (shrugging shoulders)

I know it gets old talking about it, but if this were a perp who came in and got her out of her bed, wouldn't having accidents all of a sudden be a sign that the child may have known someone was watching her, unknowing how dangerous it could be? I would think that if she had any idea, being 5 years old she may not tell anyone, however be afraid to get up to go to the bathroom at night.
My brother started wetting the bed for the first time in his life when he was 8, come to find out, the new nightlight mom had in the bathroom put this scary shadow on the wall, and he was afraid to go in there. It took him 2 weeks to tell her the truth..

There are quite a few criminal charges too. Possession of over 20 grams of marijuana is one. Is that a lot ?

For a dealer, no. For personal use, yes.
Don't ask.

I'm not at all familiar with Florida, but my cousin lived there for a time and his house was near a river. He was often in a boat going up and down the river. Could the perp have done that also? Are there a lot of people in Florida who use boats as transportation? Can you hear the boats from the trailer park? I just keep wondering about the bloodhounds going to the river. I know LE said it was windy...but the dad said she didn't like the water so I'm thinking it had been a long time since she'd been to the river.

If this was discussed, please be patient with me! I've been away from the house a lot in the past two days and getting out of the loop.

I am so bothered by all of this tonight..I guess because it seems the answers are right there.
If I were a member of that community, I would be pissed if LE didn't come out and say that there is a dangerous SO, or perp on the loose.
They have no suspects, yet will not reveal the poly results.
Something just isn't right.
My only hopes are that they know something and are waiting for either a confession or the true events to what happened before they make an arrest at all, to keep the perp from lawyer-ing up..
I think they do have a very good idea of their suspect. I also think they are waiting to find Haleigh before they announce a POI or a suspect. They are also awaiting the preliminary tests on the items they found not only today, but during the course of the investigation.

Are you serious ? I went to the link but am having trouble finding it...I put in first and last name for the Official Records and Criminal Records. This is unbelievable, how did this not come out before or have I just missed this ?

There is a lot of double work going on because the general thread has been moving so fast. The above info was found yesterday, it along with all other pertinent information in this case is posted in a sticky.
I feel bad because members search and find good info...only problem is, it's already been found.

I know we don't usually agree, but that's the feeling I get too.

I would like to Yahoo Map the house where Ronald and the GF lived in. Does anyone know the address or street?

Not saying it was her...but IF it was...she has Turners which can affect the kidneys. Or she could have a pea sized bladder. Or there are a million other reasons a child wets the bed that have nothing to do with sexual abuse! I honestly don't believe it is a "classic" sign of anything, imo, until everything else is medically ruled out.

Grandmother stated Haleigh hasn't wet the bed for 2 years. I think that's why there's renewed concerns with this issue.

Yeah! Caught up again.

Ok - first. The little boy is with bio-mom back where she lives. Her and her fiance have "Jr." - her mom was on and said she has spoken to her and she sounds alot better. Seems bio-mom had an "episode" today. She's not drinking, eating, basically worrying herself to death. So I guess it was decided for her to take the boy home with fiance and try to "distance" herself for a day or so.

Next, through all this I have developed a new thought. This is just me thinking out loud - so. What if it was dad? What if he got work a little early and came home - went in the front and out the back? Then he got back in his truck and drove around and came back like he was just getting home? Maybe when he got there first gf wasn't there and it pizzed him off so bad - Haleigh could have woken up and he "took it out" on her. Then out the back, in the car and back home like he was just getting home. GF has no idea this happened as she wasn't there.

Anyone? Whatcha think?

Dad's work records will either contribute to this or squelch it completely. Dad made a point of saying how he "is just trying to earn a decent living, stole my kid while I was a work".

A few threads back (I can't stay on all day right now, and I can't read through ALL this but have been checking in frequently) a wise sleuther pointed out that it appears that MC may have FAS (fetal alcohol syndrome). I agree wholeheartedly! As a special needs preschool teacher I can see it. I can see it in her facial structure and as the op pointed out the lazy eye. Also the underdeveloped jaw and smooth philtrum (without that normal indentation we have between our nose and upper lip), low IQ and learning disabilities are all a part of the spectrum of fetal alcohol syndrome.
Look at her mom. I'm not passing judgment for whatever happened in MC's childhood, but clearly MC lacks the skills to talk to the media and LE inense. any way that makes s

I agree sha-sha maybe not so sure on FAS but for sure developmentaly delayed. Though FAS would make sense.

My son is developmentaly delayed and i was a special needs advocate for the education department and we also foster emergency care for DDs.

The signs are all there in IMO.

She should not be put under the pressure of these interviews, she doesnt have the skills to comprehend the questions or to answer quickly or fluently for the media.

People are judging her as being secretive/deceptive and even lying about the events But i just dont see this in her.

Shes scared and shes confused and she having probs communicating clearly. The longer this goes on the worse she will be in her communication. She needs help with this.

Although I watched the coverage of the Brooke Bennett case, I never seen the inside stuff like with Caylee, which was my first websleuths case..The difference is huge when you can see things that they don't report on TV.
With that being said, I never understood why in the Caylee case so many complained about how quick the perp was arrested. This case has given me that understanding. And I agree, I think they are waiting on prelims to come back..

Those were from 2002 which is before the kids were even born. We could not find anywhere that he spent any time incarcerated over the drug charges. Then a judge ended up giving him custody of his children. So it makes me think he was in a home that got busted, in someone else's car, or some other explanation which didn't seem bad enough to a judge to either put him in prison nor preclude him from raising his kids later on. For all we know...they could have been bio mom's drugs. Who knows?!

TV on? The blue light shining through the window would tell an intruder where someone was located in the house. Peeking in the windows, an intruder would know exactly where everyone was located.

Back door propped open to facilitate picking the lock. Precisely. Great point.

Why do they lock their doors, yet sleep in a tent? I don't think that is a fair question. They lock their house doors for the same reason we all lock our doors -so the kids can't get out of the house and so no one can get into the house.

The Father is adamant that he locked that door before he left to go to work and that it was difficult to lock, one needed to push hard on the door or the bolt would not slide closed. To me it sounds like he did this everyday before leaving work because it was too hard for GF to close.

I believe we are looking for a predator who has been in the house before and may have a set of keys. Former tenant? Friend of former tenant? Roomate of former tenant who is not listed on the lease? Landlord? Landlord's employees, if any? Neighbor of former tenant?

It is entirely possible that Haleigh (God Bring Her Home Alive. Amen) heard someone, saw the kitchen light on and went to see who she thought was Daddy, home from work. There is no reason to believe the child was actually taken from her bed in the room with the GF and Jr. We don't know.

I think what woke GF was the change in temperature of the house with the door wide open, although she does not realize it. The house got too cold or too hot, she started shedding bedcovers, or fumbling for more and it woke her enough to realize she needed to pee. Then, everything started falling in on her.

I have no reason whatsoever to suspect the father or the GF. I believe them both.

The bio-mom and her mother need to stop taking swipes at the father and GF. It serves no purpose.

The child did not leave the house by herself and wander away.

I was 17 once. I babysat kids and watched them like a hawk. They were in my care and never left my sight. 17 is not too young to be very responsible for the care of a 4 and 5 year old. This GF may be a very mature and responsible young lady, eager to take on the role of wife and mother. I am not all cheery that a 17 year old is shacked up with a grown man of 24, but since it is legal, I guess that is just my old fashioned opinion. Who knows she may have started out babysitting and it lead to other things.

As it stands now, I think this is an abduction.

True they are step-siblings but my understanding is that they (grandparents) haven't been together THAT long. Not excusing it but somehow it seems worse if Crystal and Chad had grown up in the same house since toddler-hood vs. parents hooked up after Crystal and Chad were grown, you know?

Who cares? This is not relevant to the case at all IMO. They're not related by blood. No bigger deal than the 24-year-old father living with a 17-year-old girl. Maybe it's just the way things work in that part of the world??? IDK. So far, none of these folks could be described as the sharpest tools in the shed. Not necessarily fit to be parents either. This generation or the one before IMO.

Ronald is obviously a hot-head with a bad temper. And the GF appears to be terribly afraid of him. I can totally see him hurting Haleigh before he went to work and telling the GF to clean up his mess - and her doing it. I wonder if LE asked the AC guy if he saw Haleigh when he was there?

I can also see a SO studying the family and their movments until he saw his chance to strike. It's not unheard of, certainly.

That sounds to me like this is not going to end well. Which is what I thought 48 hours into this. I do hope I'm wrong.

The same grandma that only sees her twice a month if that much? The same one that has ripped her father a new one because she is angry and bitter over the custody dispute? How well does she really know this child?

  • #319
I think that if LE had any suspicions about bio mom, then they would have made sure that the other child in her care was removed immediately and not sent another one with her. Or can they do that without pressing charges?
Sorry, I don't know that much about FL child protection law.

You know, MC washing the blanket reminds me of CA washing the pants....
