Well, it does sound like something someone would say in a cheap horror movie. Maybe this has happened before, with no results
IMO
It just seems like such a horrible thing to say... I hope all the locals don't feel the way the clerk does.

Our alarm system is our grumpy (but precious) old doggy.Knowing how many sexual offenders are in every town, I wonder if any family that has money is doing the best for their children if they don't have an active alarm system, steel reinforced doors, shatterproof glass windows, and an indoor alarm system at night. These things would cut down on some of the home abductions, but most people wouldn't want to spend their money on it all even knowing how dangerous it can be if a lunatic should target their child.
Beautiful words, LeLe! I don't care where you live, if you are a kind and loving soul, that's good enough for me.
I spoke to a poster by e-mail who was part of the search yesterday. They had stopped at a store to get directions to the command site to search, the clerk at the store told them, "her time would be better spent picking up TRASH ON THE HIGHWAY.... " how do you like that!
Every child is worth saving!
Okay I'm back from Walmart :seeya:
OT but I didn't wear my slippers  I had on sneakers
Anyway, I was picking up items that I need to spring clean next week and here is what occurred to me.
I don't think Daddy did anything to her or had a hand in her disappearance.
I don't think Misty did anything to her or had a direct hand in her disappearance.
I think that there is a chance that the man (yes I think it was one perp and male) that took her is a sex offender but I'm not so sure he is registered.
I think the LE has probably been grilling all of the RSO's and has been in their homes, and will continue to do so (the usual suspects treatment)
I am wondering this.
Who has had access to the child within the last month or so? Who knows the layout of the home? Who might have a key to enter and move quietly and quickly, in and out, and abduct the child?
I don't think she is in the homes immediately neighboring her Daddy's house.
Who is the landlord? Who is in charge of running that rental property if it is not managed by the landlord? Who else has a key?
If someone else had a key, then they could come in any door they wish and leave however they wanted.
Just a thought.
Just posted thru Twitter:
@GSReporters two families come together for first time in few days for candlelight vigil.
In an attempt to bring the uttterly useless debate under control:
What theories do we have so far?
1. Father took her somewhere alive to keep her away from mother and family.
2. Father snapped and killed her for what ever reason before he left and had gf clean up the mess.
3. Father snapped and killed her for what ever reason and gf knows nothing about it.
4. One of the 44 registered sex offenders in the 2 surrounding counties took her for their own purposes.
5. Mother took her either out of a twisted sense of love or to get out of her child support obligation...or even for spite.
6. Complete stragner abduction...albeit an inept, very lucky stranger.
7. Haleigh wandered off on her own sometime during the night and is either deceased in the water or woods or is alie somewhere wandering lost.
8. Stranger abduction due to drug debts or gambling debts from the side of the grandparents or parents.
9. Abduction by member's of gf's family for unknown reasons.
10. Abduction by mother's family either with or without mother's knowledge.
Are there any I missed, barring alien abduction and black holes?
The smoking bothered me too. Anyone who smokes in the house when children are present should be charged with abuse.
I'm curious. What exactly happens between now and her next birthday that makes her that much more mature and responsible?

She lets us know if someone even steps foot on our driveway.
Regarding layout.. BOLDED BY ME ABOVE
If you have not been in a modular or single wide home.. I can tell you one thing.. THERE IS USUALLY A BEDROOM BY THE BACKDOOR. Sometmes if you can get the model of the home (usually labeled somewhere outside on the home.. you can look up the floor plans with double wide home dealers)
As we found in the Caylee saga.. there were other homes in the area of the Anthony's that had the same floor plan.
You could drive around in my cul-de-sac find a house that looks like mine as far as window and door placements and find the 5 that have the same floor plan as mine. 3 houses down from mine there is one for sale, anyone can do a walk. Not rocket science to figure out the placements of bedrooms. This house was for rent in October. Maybe an SO took a tour acting like or was interested in renting. Town of 5300.. most people know each other or about each other.
SO could be watching my house for a week and determine that the bedroom that has the light on at 8 pm and out by 8:30 is probably my child's room and the one with the bedroom light on after 10:30 is probably the adult bedroom.
ITA, we still need to keep our freedoms, I'm not a smoker and I don't like it but in the scheme of things do we really want to go that far in taking away rights? Ok, prolly said more then I should have.
How did he know which room Haleigh was in? It's unusual that she would be in the master bedroom.
My father was a smoker and smoked in the house as long as I can remember he was a wonderful and the most loving father and husband you could ever imagine. So all that about smoking is just BS, A child is missing if her family smokes is beside the point she needs to be found.
Where to affect change? We all need to be the example for our children. We can't tell them to not drink & drive & then let everyone at the family bbq getfaced. It's not do as I say, it really is do as I do.
When did we get afraid to get tough with our kids? I was NOT my daughter's friend when she was a teen, I was her mother. To her, I was the biggest B on the earth. That was okay. I often looked at her, told her in clear words what the rules were & that as her mother I refused to bury her as a result of a foolish action, her's or someone else's. Now, she is grown, with 3 children of her own. We are in fact best friends, now we can be. I can finally be her friend, confidont & her mother. I love all 3 roles.
We are so busy working, doing scouts, ball, ballet etc that we don't talk at the dinner table. We don't volunteer together, if we volunteer at all. There are only so many hrs in a day, so many in a wk. We all need to do something, like volunteer to help others, to show our children it takes all of us to care.
The only positive that might come from such a down economy, is it is much harder to afford all the activities for the kids. It just might us take a walk in the park or sit on the porch swing and talk. That can be a blessing. :blowkiss:

I know some, maybe many, are struggling with how
to find a balance in discussing this case. I understand.
I am in and out of the Florida scrubs frequently on work.
If you do not understand this area, these folks, lifestyle, etc...
you will misinterpret most of the information regarding their
behaviors, etc.
Lots of etc... dealing with this. LOL!!!
