There was some sort of court order filed on the day of the night the little girl was abducted. I also read that the bio mother was ordered to pay child support...That also makes my hinky meter go up regarding the SO with the last name "Johns"....you may be on to something Leila!!

I spoke to a poster by e-mail who was part of the search yesterday. They had stopped at a store to get directions to the command site to search, the clerk at the store told them, "her time would be better spent picking up TRASH ON THE HIGHWAY.... " how do you like that!

Well, I am REAL glad they didn't say that to Tim. If they had said it to I probably would have slapped the pisz out of them. For sure they would have heard a mouth full with more F bombs then they thought this little gal from NC could drop.

I thought of that as well. I always sleep with a tv on in the room. It could definitely drown out an intruder.

I found her marriage license long after the discussion of the area SOs, and with your post, made the connection!

Oh wow Leila. Has anyone chased that possible connection down yet? I know Johns is a somewhat common surname but still I think it should be followed down the rabbit hole.

I've seen this posted 2 times now. What solutions do we have so far?
1. Father took her somewhere alive to keep her away from mother and family.
Work was a solid alibi and he seems awfully sincere
2. Father snapped and killed her for what ever reason before he left and had gf clean up the mess.
Again, if this is true he should get an Oscar

5. Mother took her either out of a twisted sense of love or to get out of her child support obligation...or even for spite.
*Possible, but I doubt she did it personally*
6. Complete stragner abduction...albeit an inept, very lucky stranger.
*Also possible, but given the protected location of the home, not as likely as a perp that knows the area*
7. Haleigh wandered off on her own sometime during the night and is either deceased in the water or woods or is alie somewhere wandering lost.
I don't see it. She would have been found by now. If she got lost, I feel she would have cried or made a noise.
8. Stranger abduction due to drug debts or gambling debts from the side of the grandparents or parents.
I personally feel the drug dealing theory is overstated. The dad and Misty probably just smoke a joint every now and then.
9. Abduction by member's of gf's family for unknown reasons.
*If the brother is a perv, this is plausible, otherwise, nothing to see here*
10. Abduction by mother's family either with or without mother's knowledge.

That is very valid lillyfrog. I appreciate your input, and it also goes right along with the fact that I think this man has had access to that home before.

I think he knew where Haleigh was, and he wanted her and her only.

It would also go hand in hand that Misty may have unintentionally facilitated his access to her because he accessed the home while Daddy was at work and she was there.

Hehe, you have just described my life.

Lol, and mine. My son has a Wii plus every other system, a tv in his room, movies like block buster. BUT he also has been volunteering in one form or the other since he was 10 even though he is mentally handicapped. He is even a searcher with TES with me and does an GREAT job.

After all that we now know about second-hand smoke and it's effects I think the statement fits just fine MissOtk.

I think people equate the word abuse with physical violence.

In my state they have talked about issuing citations to people who smoke in cars with children present. How long before they start checking out what goes on in the home?

I also think that should hold true for anyone who drinks too, whether it be in the home or coming home with a couple drinks under one's belt. It is another form of a substance that can cause cloudiness of judgement and lead to addiction. We really should start monitoring all homes.

That is what I feel is the most likely scenario. I think LE need to look really close at the a/c guy and the brother and friend of Misty. these are the known males at the house that day.

I would be more inclined to think that the bio dad lost it. He has DV charges in the past..Plus, if the girlfriend lost it I think the dad would have been extremely mad at her to the point of violence...

The girlfriend is so young, and possibly so in love with the bio dad that she would cover up for him. JMO

How did he know the layout of the house as it pertained to bedding? Because he's been in the house before.

How did he enter a door, any door, without causing any damage to the said door? Either he has a key, or he can pick a deadbolt with such skill that an unskilled eye cannot see damage.
