maybe he meant the lock on the outer door. We call em' screen doors around here but since they live in a manufactured home I'm guessing it was an aluminum and glass outer door. Not too hard to break into if it's like a mobile home door. But if the inner door had a deadbolt and it was indeed locked, I can't figure out how that could ave been broken into and not been heard.

For some reason the g/f story doesn't add up to me.I hope they find this little girl soon, and reunite her with her father. He seems like he does the best he can to take care of her.

I checked Georgia marriage records, and found nothing. I also used https://www.myfloridacounty.com/ and searched Ronald Cummings and found 2 probate documents in his name, and then 2 court papers in both Ronald and Crystals names.

It has been reported that bio mom lives in Georgia, but everything indicates she lives in Florida. One of the articles said that the city she lives in just below the Georgia border. Her myspace says Florida, her phone numbers both home and cell are Florida, and her visitation agreement says she cannot take the kids out of state.

Thanks! There doesn't seem to be a dissolution of marriage case, only a paternity/custody case, so unless there was a divorce in another county or state, I'm going to assume that Ronald Cummings and Crystal Sheffield were never married.

I would further assume that for the court to award custody to the father and visitation to the mother at the discretion of the father in regards to the safety of the children, there had to have been some serious issues presented to the court as to why the mother shouldn't have custody - not even shared custody.

As for the surnames..........the maternal grandmother's name being Marie Griffis and the boyfriend/father of Crystal's new baby being Chad Griffis, the only logical explanation is that Crystal's mother married a man who's surname is Griffis, and both of them had adult children. If this is the case, technically, Crystal Sheffield and Chad Griffis would be step-siblings.

Fox News supposedly has the police report, and this is a snip from and link to their story:

Haleigh, her 2-year-old brother and Croslin went to bed in the same room in the family's mobile home at about 10 p.m. Monday night, investigators said. Croslin told deputies the little girl got up between 3 and 3:30 a.m. to go to the bathroom.


About the same time, Cummings arrived home from work. When they went into the bedroom, he and Croslin say they discovered that Haleigh had vanished.

So what is the real story here?
Too, has anyone been able to confirm that the child was actually put to sleep in that house? Was there dishes from dinner that supported more than one child? What about the clothes she wore to school that day? Could she have wondered off during the daylight?

Does anyone know what time Haleigh disappeared exactly or close to it? Was it between 3 and 3:30, or somewhere between 10pm and 3:30am?

the cinderblock that was placed at the back door was an item that didn't belong. That seems to me the place to start.

LE said the sent may have drifted to the water, so it is uncertain that the perp took her in that direction. He also said two of the dogs went in that direction, so there were more than two dogs being used. I don't know where the other dogs went. Does anyone?

Who drives around with a cinderblock in their car? Therefore it seems to me that the door had a habit of closing due to the mobile home not being set square? So someone who knows this about the home? I think the cinderblock says the perp is probably someone who has been in that home before, either before they moved in, or who they personally know.

How do you go about finding out who lived there before them, and how long they have lived there?

On another note, did the bio-mom add an additional bunch of pics to her myspace after we started digging in it or did I SOMEHOW manage to miss the fifty pics of that car accident??? I would swear all those pics were not there earlier this afternoon. Why on earth would she do that.....NOW?

I saw the car accident photos on there yesterday. Her MySpace looked the same today, other than a mood change, adding a song, and her default pic is of Haleigh now instead of herself.

According to Cummings, Haleigh had gotten up to use the bathroom. When she had not returned, Croslin went to look for her and noticed the back door was open.

Something that does not add up to me. According to a quote in this article, the father stated:

"I locked doors before I left for work. My child cannot unlock the deadbolt, you have to force the door shut all the way ... and she doesn’t open door to strangers," Cummings said."

Seems to me that if you have to force the door to shut all the way then there would be no way to open the door without making some noise.

That was my guess, Here is why:

She got up at @3am-this could mean 3:10-3:15-3:20 Dad home between 3:25-3:27am(911 call), my only question about it, what was gf doing during that time? Looking for her?...Is that why she didn't call 911 asap? It has been reported today that she reunited with her family tonight after an absence.

I think some SOB was watching that home, and knew their schedule.GF got up to go to the bathroom and he made his move. He could have been in the house at some point. She comes out of the bathroom sees her missing, looks though the home, calls dad...no answer...walks outside as he is pulling up. Dad says why are you calling me at...gf tells him her story...dad says call 911. No Proof just train of thought....

I am glad that you pointed that out. I know people say they call their kids 'brats', Heck there was even a doll line. She professes her love to EVERYONE on that page and calls the children that she does not have custody of... Brats....imo she was more emotional during the earlier interviews, during the Greta interview she was medicated, her mom took over that interview.But, it still just bugs me.

I've resolved some surname issues...............the mother of Crystal Diane Sheffield is Marie Griffis, and her full name is Nancy Marie Griffis. In the 2005 paternity/custody court case between Crystal Sheffield and Ronald Cummings, the court had correspondence from Nancy Griffis.

Further consultation of Baker County court records show that Johnny Marcus Sheffield was married to Nancy Marie Sheffield. They had a dissolution of marriage case before the court, but the parties canceled the divorce on May 20, 1992.

Online directories show that Nancy Marie Griffis, age 43 is apparently married to Bruce A. Griffis, age 46. Listed as possible relatives for Nancy Griffis age 43, is Nancy M. Sheffield, age 43, and Sarah Lavon Sheffield.

We know from Marie Griffis MySpace page that she is 43, and has three children: Crystal, Sarah Lavon, and Marcus. Note that Marcus is the middle name of Johnny Marcus Sheffield. The MySpace page of Crystal Sheffield supports this with pictures of her sister, Sarah Lavon, and Marcus listed as a friend.

Somewhere is the state of Florida is a dissolution of marriage case between Johnny and Nancy Marie Sheffield, and a marriage record for Nancy Marie Sheffield to Bruce A. Griffis.

It does fit if they have a double wide trailer, i lived in one with my sis and her kids awhile back. There was a bathroom in the master bedroom. So i'm guessing their trailer may have a similiar layout. The back door was also near the master bedroom and kitchen. The living room was next to the kitchen (front door off the living room, about 10-13 ft from the back door). You walk in the front door, enter the living room, there's a hallway to the right which had 2 bedrooms off of it and another bathroom.

I'm focusing on the biomom right now because her video interview is giving me that "something's not right" feeling.
She lives 90 miles away. In that part of FL we like to say 90 miles, 90 minutes away. It's a straight shot so I'm hoping le gave her a LDT and cleared her. Not only the biomom but her immediate family as well.
Does she have a brother or sister?
