FL - Brandi Peters, 27, & her 3 kids found murdered, Tallahassee, 20 Nov 2010 *Guilty*

Yes you have those! I guess I qualify, cause I am always googling. Pick me Pick me! LOL

LOL! No, he said on the stand that there is a version of Google called Google Scholar so basically since there are no peer-reviewed journals to corroborate anything he said, most of this information can be found on Google Scholar and that's "good enough."

I'm completely checked out of the post-Santos testimony today. I don't even know what defense is trying to prove. I know generally they're trying to show there was other DNA and foot prints that prove this was a cartel hit. Santos has basically handed defense reasonable doubt on a platter and now they're going wild with it! SMH.

If jury believes Santos or thinks he presents reasonable doubt, then the whole justice system is in trouble. Because basically all defendants can get some cuckoo bird in prison to testify that they committed the crime and give reasonable doubt. What a scary thought!

Having said that, defense is smart to hammer this "DNA evidence" because they know juries are inclined to want a "smoking gun" in deliberations. So defense is making hay out of this DNA to create an impression that there's a smoking gun here. It's good strategy. I just hope this jury is smart enough to see their way through the bs.

It is a scary thought!? What's his motivation?

Re: the threatening letter the day before the murders

Do you think Brandi told Segura about the Santos letter( the day she got it)
She showed it to her neighbor after all.
If she told him, Segura could of seen a perfect opportunity to murder them all(cartel style) the very next day.

Any other theories about the letter?

I liked how on cross the Prosecutor asked her if she told anyone that the children -drown- . She said she or no other law enforcement at the scene did not know how they died. I think she also said they would never tell on lookers, neighbors -where- they found the children.
So how did Segura know all this in his ( hours later) interview?!

I feel there is some tie between Segura and Santos. Something like Santos owes Segura a favor or something like that. What does Santos have to lose he is already in prison. I still can't picture Brandi stealing money and having nothing to show for it.

I hope the Prosecution has a good rebuttal. Plus can tie this all up in a bow at the end in Closing.

Good question! He claims the woman that braided his son’s hair knew they were found in the tub, and he assumed they were drowned! I guess defense will argue Brandi’s sister told ppl and that’s how this lady, Piney (?) found out. But there’s no way Brandi’s sister had all these facts so quickly and that these details got to Piney! No way LE informed Brandi’s sister at the scene that the twins were found in the tub or drowned!

It is a scary thought!? What's his motivation?

I think Santos is a narcissistic delusional con artist and his only motivation is attention and notoriety. He’s a petty thief but wants to appear like a big time trafficker. It was pure coincidence that he knew Brandi and had contact with her prior to the murders. After the murders he saw an opportunity to gain some national attention. Look, it worked, we all know this fool’s name!

Brilliant. I wish you were on the Prosecution team!
That makes sense.
When Santos mentioned the strip club and pretty prison shrinks....
I thought of Segura & his Ilk !
I wonder how much the Prosecution explored their connection.
It does ring like a plan:
you send the letter...
I’ll do the hit next day.

Great sadness for her family being subjected to all this casual speak of hits & killing.
I pray the jurors see through it all.

Commenting without watching today's trial....was anything else mentioned about it today?

I might be embarrassed by this post if I find out the letter was discussed in length today but these were my initial thoughts when just hearing of it.

The only testimony I heard was from the neighbor and she seemed to indicate Brandi was not so much scared by the contents of the letter but the writings on the envelope. Is it possible Segura wrote that on the envelope?

Segura was either waiting for that letter or was rummaging through Brandi's mailbox. My spidey sense shot up during his police interview when he mentioned the mailman was across the street.

Did you all catch the part where Santos says the “secretary” sends letters and such? Lmao.

*insert The Wire gif where Stringer says “is you taking notes on a criminal effing conspiracy?”

I wonder if she takes board meeting minutes for the Vice Lord board meetings too??? You can’t make this crap up!

The letter:
Santos said he sent it ...when defense showed it to him.
I think def asked Santos if that was his writing on the outside of the envelope ( * no one ever addresses what’s on the inside)

Good catch about the mailman!
I truly believe...There is always some truth in a serial liar’s lie.
HS brought up parking in church parking lot-because he did not want Brandi’s Mom to see him (he had to explain cell phone location evidence) .
He’s got a snarky, smarty-a answer for all facts presented. This is a way of life for him.
The way he treated the judge - the man has absolutely no anger filter.

yes he has had years to study and read about his own case conveniently filling in the gaps, creating alibis, he has been in and out of jail his whole life. i think everyone's path probably did cross at one time and this story was fabricated. what else do they have to do?

his body language on cross was scary...hiccups can be a sign of emotional stress...she really shook him up

I think SG met his match in BP, he could not control her like the others, she also has a temper (see attached). I wonder if this incident was relating to HS infidelities, it involves a beauty shop perhaps a hair braider? I think I am hearing Pint as her nickname...i can't recall the names of his other girlfriends mentioned by the prosecutor so can't cross check the name in the affidavit to being one of his girls

i perused social media and was happy to see B's memorial page with family opinions of his guilt as i have not seen them interviewed

looks like there will be an upload of the jail call transcript, they have made a noting in the court records but have not uploaded it but i personally don't need any more evidence to reach my verdict
