What you said was 'very, very, drunk to block out what you are actually doing' which sounds like the definition of what a black out is IMO. I do think that being so drunk that you don't remember what happened should not be looked at as severe as someone who plots and then carries out a murder. Heat of passion vs cold, premeditated.

I thought JS blamed her condition on Abilify. I understood that prolonged use of this drug can cause someone to shake like JS did so I don't know if that was the cause of her shaking or it was alchohol withdrawl. I'm sure this trail will have plenty of medical opinions.

Yes....but you can be very, very, drunk and not be in a blackout! Plus she was an addict, she wasn't just drunk, she was in full-blown physical addiction to alcohol. You don't get the DT's unless you can't physically cope without it. In that scenario, it's highly possible she wasn't in a blackout, but who knows?

BTW....You are not 'non-functional' in a blackout! You have emotion, thought, intent, and the ability to carry out intended actions based on those cognitive aspects.....which is why it does not meet the criteria for an insanity defense. Blackout simply means you cannot recall what you have done. But as others have said....she seemed to have a recollection of where her children were.......so obviously not in blackout.

Good lord she was boozing on wine coolers? That's sad, she is mental #JulieSchenecker

#JulieSchenecker was concerned with her reckless driving court date while she's being held for killing her kids

Do you know if JS said this before or after she told police where the bodies of her kids were? Though I don't know how critical this is because I have to remember the lady was an interrogator for the armed forces.

I think after because it says she was being held at the time.

So she put Calyx in her bed so she'd be comfortable...oh boy #JulieSchenecker

Laying the groundwork for her insanity plea? Her mixing it up with admitting where kids bodies are and then asking when her kids will be by to see her(while in custody).

Thanks for the link! I read while listening to testimony.

I hope the jury gets to see some of these e-mails. Clearly JS was mentally ill with bi-polar disorder. As with many other sufferers, she also abused alcohol (self-medication).

According to her husband, she took zero responsibility for her behavior. It was her husband's fault, her children's fault. She did nothing wrong. She was the victim.

That's what the defense will play her as being.

My audio cut out. When was she read her rights? TIA

I think the question about what LE was wearing is that she could easily identify who they were because of their uniforms and why she wasn't talking. Just a guess but she did know enough not to speak about the crime. jmo

I don't think so at this point---they really aren't/didn't question her --

Sorry CUCKOOHEAD! Don't mean to harp-on! Just wanted to address the other excellent points in your post.

When I said 'very, very drunk', I meant in order not to 'feel' (if that's possible) the full extent of what you are doing.

Regarding the Abilify. Those symptoms may or may not be the cause of her wobbly walk.....but what a perfect excuse for the DT's from an alcoholic.

And yes...this trial and defense (especially), will be filled with medical opinions! :sigh:

She even used the terms "Saturday Massacre" about her own kids! #JulieSchenecker

Wowzers! She was alert enough to know when she wrote gibberish, but was very clear about the wait for the gun and the "massacre" she was planning! BOMBSHELL!

More notes from #JulieSchenecker : "Calyx, she gets it first. Don't know whether I'll first turn on the light to blind... I'm nervous."
