Regardless of Cathy being overwhelmed or having made mistakes in her past ... I still think he should have been found guilty of this and locked away.
My opinion and I'm still standing by it.
Just a scary and dangerous young man and I fear there may be more victims in the future ?

I watched the trial in it's entirety and agreed with the verdict. Both Cathy Griffith's children had been removed from her care repeatedly by Florida's DCF. Cathy had a very well documented history of violent and erratic behaviors. Collin begged repeatedly to be placed in foster care but was repeatedly told he had to remain with Cathy Griffith until he turned 18. She'd been arrested previously for threatening Collin's father with weapons. There's no particular evidence to suggest Cathy DIDN'T wield the knife first the day she was killed. I was BTW shocked by how biased the reporting of this case was. Watch actual trial footage, in particular the testimony of the DCF worker.

Sheriff Judd provided 10 Tampa Bay with the following statement in response to the not guilty verdict:
"Our detectives firmly believe that Collin Griffith murdered his mother. The jury determined that they could not convict him beyond and to the exclusion of all reasonable doubt. During our investigation, detectives found witnesses that believe he also murdered his father in Oklahoma. That investigation is ongoing."

Taylor Cadle, 22, alleged in a lawsuit that Polk County Sheriff's Office personnel, including Sheriff Grady Judd and investigator Melissa Turnage, accused her of lying to investigators, forcing her to write apology notes to her adoptive father who had been raping her for years. According to suit, Taylor was the victim.
