Boyfriend in the psych ward? I wonder if that was his own idea or has he already consulted a lawyer? It is a great place to stay and be just out-of-reach to LE.

Bumping. Anything new? Where are you Kerry?

Bumping for Kerry. This article is almost a month old now, but I didn't see the info posted here yet :( My apologies if it was & I missed it somehow. Haven't been able to find anything more recent than this.

A search for a missing woman is being investigated as a homicide, a source told Action News Jax.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has been searching for Kerry Jones, 46, who hasn’t been seen since Feb 7. Jones’ car was found in the parking lot of her job on Feb. 9, on San Jose Boulevard.

Thank you for keeping this case going! It's been bugging me - Kerry looks familiar to me even though there is no way I know her. But I feel connected to her and think about her and check on her case daily. May she be found so her family may have some peace!

“Not a day goes by when she doesn’t ask me if they found her grandmother,” Jones said of his oldest child.

So sad...

Nice article.

I've never been knocked out, but I thought that the unconsciousness part didn't last all that long. She knocked him out and he woke up the next morning? Wow.

IMO there is A LOT of projection in the BF's telling of events.

And the police have refused to give an update or interview (per the linked article), which is interesting. My interpretation is they are working on this case and will solve it.

Any new word on what the bf is up to?

Hoping she is found so her loved ones can get some closure.

Saturday was February 6th and supposedly night she assaulted the bf with a mug... some of the dates quoted are confusing and makes it sound like a Friday night fight! So technically she worked Sunday until 2:37! Not Friday or Saturday!

Kerry’s was one of the first cases I followed on Websleuths.

From the article linked below:
“Lt. Craig Waldrup said at a news briefing Friday afternoon that they believe there is only one set of remains, though it's still unclear how long the remains have been there. He said foul play is suspected because of the way the body was positioned.

The discovery could be tied to a cold case investigation, but Waldrup would not say which one.“ (BBM)
Foul play suspected in discovery of human remains in wooded area

The fact that LE revealed to the public the possible connection less than 24 hours after the initial discovery leads me to believe they have probably recovered something that is very unique to the victim.

As was mentioned earlier, Kerry “is legally deaf and wears hearing aids.” Could it be that they found her hearing aids with the remains?

Details of Disappearance
Jones was last seen in Jacksonville, Florida on February 7, 2016. She had moved there from Pell City, Alabama the previous autumn to live with Jackie "Nick" Kelly Jr., a man she'd met online. They lived in an apartment in the 12300 block of Mandarin Road.

A photo of Kelly is posted with this case summary. He initially told police she had gotten upset about a Facebook post he'd made, left the apartment and never came back.

A few days later, he changed his story and said they got a drunken argument and she hit him with a coffee cup and knocked him unconscious. When he woke up the next day, she was gone. He reported her missing on February 9.

The same day Jones was reported missing, her tan 1996 Toyota Avalon, which has the Alabama license plate number 59DH431, a brown right front fender and a rusted hood, was found abandoned at the Bealls store where she worked in the 12200 block of San Jose Boulevard.

A photo of the car is posted with this case summary. Video surveillance of the parking lot shows someone driving it into the parking lot at 6:45 p.m. on February 7. When it was located, the driver's seat was pushed back, indicating that someone taller that Jones was the last person to drive it.

Jones maintained regular contact with her adult son in Alabama, but he hasn't heard from her since she disappeared. He said Jones was initially happy in Florida, but a few weeks before she disappeared, she told her son she was upset because Kelly drank heavily.

Kelly has hired a lawyer and refused to cooperate with the investigation into Jones's disappearance. Police searched the apartment they shared and seized Kelly's pickup truck. He did have a minor head injury after her disappearance, and police found a broken cup and blood at his home, which might correspond with his statement about being knocked unconscious by Jones.

Authorities are investigating Jones's case as a possible homicide. Her family doesn't believe she would have left of her own accord, as she's described as a family-oriented person who was devoted to her two sons and her grandchildren. Her case remains unsolved.
