"Lonzie’s funeral is in the works. There is speculation his mother, Lonna Lauramore Barton, will be requesting a hearing to be released from jail so she can attend the services." This makes me just sick.....and I have a bad feeling either she or her Mother will make it so nobody of the public will be able to attend it either....that is going to piss off all of Jacksonville if that happens and many others that have come to love Lonzie.

they better be very careful with her...career druggie and just smart enough to be dangerous....just the child abuse alone should preclude her from going anywhere near that service...to be honest the entire families on both sides have to be doing some serious soul searching...people had to realize the environment these children are being raised in...her mother knew all about it. And then to hear her trying to get the food stamps for her mother.....they are drug dealers getting help from the government? I imagine it goes like that daily all over the country.

Months? :/

Can a funeral go ahead without official ID?

I just can't believe they'd allow LB to attend the funeral, considering she's plead guilty to child neglect which ultimately resulted in LONZIES demise.

It's the public that's loved, searched and is seeking justice for our blue eyed boy. Tears.

I have to admit that part of me wants Lonna to be forced to face, in person, what her behavior has brought. Let her stand among members of the community who cared more for Lonzie than she ever did. Without any "molly" to take the edge off. And hopefully in shackles.

i am certain that there will be many in attendance at that funeral that knew things that should have been reported to authorities but they did not ...maybe because they wanted their drugs...afraid of the consequences etc. The last injuries were not the first and Lonzie was visible to many people. Besides noticing in the interview that Lonna never used his name...not once they also talked about where he slept...the child did not have a bed...he had a "palette" that seemed to be some blankets arranged to sleep on the floor? Child protective services should have been there early on. Also in an interview she was asked if she was pregnant and she said she was a few months ago but "lost" it...imagine another child...and there will be more if she gets out.

Oh she will be in shackles for sure with a couple of JSO officers around her if she gets to go....personally I don't her anywhere near that baby and his services.

A Mcclenny funeral director is donating his services.

"As long as I've been in business, I've never charged for a child. Ever,” Todd Ferreira said. “This is no different."

The director of Ferreira Funeral Services said Lonzie will be buried in Macclenny, but that the funeral is likely weeks away.

And more:

As the wait continues for confirmation on whether the remains found are Lonzie's, the man who led police to those remains can once again have visitors in jail, a judge ruled.

Judge Mark Borello ruled Monday, the same day police found the remains on the Southside, that Ruben Ebron can now have jail visits and calls with his parents and his children. Ebron's contact remains restricted with Lonna Barton, Lonzie's mother, who was Ebron's girlfriend when the 21-month-old disappeared last July.

Me too. And let each person tell her to her face how disgusted they are.

I doubt she will get to go. There is no way (please forgive me) there could be an open casket as he was already not identifiable. Inmates do get to go and 'view' a lost mother, father, or child, but there would be no 'viewing' of any kind with poor little Lonzie. There would be no reason to even transport her from jail. She could not go to a public funeral for Lonzie because the people there would want to tear her apart.

She can request a hearing all she wants but I seriously doubt she would get a judge to allow her to go.

Thank you!!! We are at out patient chemo now. It has been delayed because his line was not returning blood so he is being tpa-d and they will try again.

He still has a good attitude but he's not digging the mouth sores and his hair started going last night :(.

My 20 year old was diagnosed with Cancer. The Pathology was so bad that he was not declared a survivor for 10 years. (Pathology was going Testicular, lung and brain, same as Lance Armstrong). He met his wife, got married after treatments and went on to have 2 little girls 6 and 2. I asked if I was allowed to take the sperm bank charges off my Visa after #2. I never asked how they were conceived, didn't matter, I prefer to dream of miracles. Have faith and courage! L

He gets to resume visits with his children? Really? I am baffled by that decision.

But bless that funeral director for giving this horrible event some dignity.

He admits to manslaughter, and throwing a baby out like trash... and now he gets
visitation? was this part of his deal? Boy-oh-boy, one of the things I've learned here
at WS, is that criminals have so many rights, that don't seem right.

I have been out for a bit, but wanted to let everyone know that news4jax will be showing service live tomorrow night.

"The Local Station will have live coverage of the vigil on News4Jax.com.

Hardage-Giddens Town and Country Funeral Home has offered to donate the cost of funeral and burial. General Manager Roger Delaney said the remains deserve a peaceful resting place."

If I'm not mistaken this is the funeral home that donated services for Cherish Perrywinkle as well as a grandmother and her grandchildren who perished in a fire.

OT but I wanted to share. My Dad wasn't so great and my mom left him. She had two small children (I was the oldest). She had one bedroom with two twin beds. My sibling and I slept in the beds while my mom slept between us on an air mattress on the floor. She had two jobs (one full time and a part time evening job) and never asked for help. My grandmother watched us, so she did have family help while she worked. We didn't have much of anything for many, many years, but we were safe and loved. I am heartbroken to read of children who aren't loved and cherished. It just goes against all that is good.
