Found Deceased FL - Madeline Soto, 13, Missing Child Alert, 13500 blk Town Loop Blvd, Orlando, 26 Feb 2024 *arrest* #14

If you pick up your 13-year-old daughter from school every day, and one day you see that she left her cell phone at home, would you bring the phone with you to give to her, if you were going to return home after picking her up?

Probably..

^^This^^ after learning 12-yr olds are busy texting their friends seated directly across from them on the school bus!

I don't know what I would do? I might think we will be home in 15 minutes, or maybe I'd bring it in case we stopped somewhere, just seeing what the majority would do.

If it was me I'd figure it wasn't going to hurt a 13 year old to have to wait 15 more minutes for her phone since she had made it through an entire day without it.

With that said... see below for what JS said about when Maddie would forget her phone. As for me, I'm taking it with a grain of salt because she's not exactly the most truthful person. Maybe she always brought it with her in the past when it was left behind, or maybe she just told LE that as to why she did that on that particular day. 50/50 on that one IMO.

Pg 33 of 896: I asked JS where Madeline’s phone was at the time she had gone to pick up to Maddie to which she stated she had taken it with her when she went to pick her up from school. JS advised when Maddie forgot her phone, she would bring it to her when she would pick her up.

Looks like more movement in SS's CSAM case. Looks like they are trying to say his cellphone was seized unlawfully.

I'm not versed on what exactly that law says, but LE asked him to see it. Is that not enough? There might be other convos asking to see his phone than the one the day she went missing. Below is a transcript of that convo:

LE – Are you…? Uhm, on your phone, do you have Google maps?

SS – I do but I wasn’t mapsing it.

LE – When you’re giving her rides, does she sit in the front or in the back?

SS – She sits in the front. *said VERY softly* She likes to sit in the front.

LE – Do you mind if I look at your maps real quick?

SS – Yeah, <unintelligible, but MIGHT have been 'absolutely'>

Cued up:

and....

LE – Do you mind if I just take a picture of your history?

SS – Yeah, that’s fine.

He gave her permission to go into his google/cloud history. As soon as she saw images, she shut 'er down, I'm guessing to get a full warrant.

Nice try, won't fly.

One thing I don't understand... when he had Maddie strapped into the car seat and he returned to the complex... he went inside the apartment then, didn't he? For like maybe 15 minutes? So he left her in the car parked outside?? Fully visible to anyone who might walk by the car? It had become daylight by that time! They park their vehicles near their front door in a parking lot filled with other vehicles. He wasn't worried about anyone seeing her like that in the car?? Strikes me as really weird.

Also, some wondered why he had to go into JS bedroom that morning before he left with MS body. I think it's possible he went in there to get Maddie's birthday money. We know he had to buy vape supplies and they're not free!

I recall two things: SS went into JS bedroom and told JS he was going to walk the talk -- I think he was hoping that this would keep JS in bed and she would not get up and encounter the great escape. The other thing I recall is he may have entered to get shoes for MS. IIRC, MS ended up with white shoes of two different sizes(?). Or he entered to steal her money as OP suggested.... JMO

Maddie was found shoeless, only wearing socks (Can't find a link for only wearing socks so it'll have to be JMO since it's just in my memory and not linkable. I wish!). However, one shoe was thrown away with the backpack, the other was in JS's bedroom.

Pg 101 of 896: Forensics Manager Vanessa Nylander called me and notified me that they located some of Madeline's belongings in the trash, including a single white Croc. CSI Janiak recalled seeing Crocs in the downstairs bedroom. I reentered the residence and looked in the downstairs bedroom for white Crocs. I located 3 white Croc shoes near the window. One pair of women's size 8, and a single left shoe size 5-7, which matched the right size 5-7 located in the trash.

Found it.

Pg 195 of 896: The decedent was found in between the bamboo trees and covered with dead vegetation. She was observed in a prone position with her head face down and facing north. Both her legs were observed bent at the knees and facing south. She was observed wearing a green hoodie with the hood covering her head, blue jeans, and white socks.

Thanks! I suppose the crocks still could have been a reason to enter JS bedroom earlier in the morning where SS may have grabbed MS shoes, dropped one without realizing it, and how he ended up with a single crock that went into the dumpster. JMO

Yes, it's one of my theories of why he went into JS's bedroom while she was sleeping to get or deal with the elusive "something". It for darn sure wasn't to walk the dog like he said. I'll put all my money on that (which is another way of saying JMO. lol)

I'm skeptical that SS went into JS's room at all. I welcome correction if I'm wrong, but IIRC, that story has been told only by JS. I don't think SS has ever said anything about going into her room for a reason related to the dog.

JMO and as I said, I welcome correction if I'm wrong.

^^edit to correct 'talk' to dog.

Oops-- no idea where that came from!

While I can't find anything from SS talking about going into JS's bedroom to walk the dog... the one thing that comes to mind is why would he even bring that up? He didn't belong there so why would he say he was in there? This is maybe one of the only times I believe JS. I think he went in there, she woke up as she said... but for what? It wasn't to walk the dog. Dude took no responsibility about anything so why start now with a dead body slumped in the car?

JMO!

I think it was JS that said she woke up before her alarm because she heard SS in the room putting the lease on the dog-- I think she went into some spiel about the dog sleeping with her on her bed and how she would be forced to get up because the dog would wet her bed with her in it. I just remember that I had zero sympathy for JS sleeping in dog pee!

If SS decided to take the dog out that morning-- for the first time, I'd say it was because he was trying to keep JS asleep in her room while he made the great escape with her deceased child. JMO
