Found Deceased FL - Madeline Soto, 13, Missing Child Alert, 13500 blk Town Loop Blvd, Orlando, 26 Feb 2024 *arrest* #14

her issue was that the dog pee's when he gets excited, so when stephan came in the room, and was "leashing the dog" on the bed, she was worried the dog would pee on the bed and then she would have to do laundry.
I would LOVE to see your source about JS not wanting to do laundry cuz I can't find it. Not that I'm doubting you, rather that I'd like another document to add to my arsenal to periodically check for stuff. lol :p
I don't believe that dog ever went for a walk, so what was Stephan doing there in the bedroom? Causing a ruckus when she needed desperately to sleep? Was he shutting off her alarm? Was he looking for Maddi's shoes?
It was definitely something, IMO. And VITALLY important to him or he wouldn't have risked waking JS up with Maddie dead in his car parked outside.
About those Crocs, she likely didn't wear those Crocs to her birthday party, so its not as fishy to me that one was in jenn's room, ( as if something happened in jenns room,) she could have worn them the day's before and left them in Jenns room?
She wore cute strappy shoes to her party. There's a better pic out there but I can't find it on an acceptable source, darn it! And Crocs would NOT go with that pretty party dress IMO! lol As for her crocs.... I doubt she stayed in her party dress and shoes once she returned home from her party. She likely changed into comfy house clothes and shoes. Keep in mind all 3 of them were in JS's bedroom before she shooed them off to bed. Maybe she kicked them off to lay on JS's bed, or before she went upstairs. They could have been left in JS's room the day of her party, and remained there till that next morning when SS threw ONE of them away. That was so weird in my mind. Either both or none, dude! NOT one. Sheesh.

scattered amongst the other scattered things, but he only found one I guess. Then he dumps it all, along with her backpack in the complex dumpster and then tells the cops he sees her rifling through her backpack when he dropped her off !!!, He tells them he thought she may have been looking for earbuds even though he just told them she left her phone at home.
I haven't seen earbuds, although some source out there might say that. Here's what I've found:

Pg 51: JS said Stephan told her when he dropped her off, she was rummaging through her backpack assuming she was looking for her phone.

He forgot about the part where he returned home after already getting to the school until asked, and then he explains they had "time to kill" because maddi " 86'd" the Mcdonald's idea, so they returned home again to get the "clicker" but he never thought to pick up her phone.
He gets the gold medal for being the dumbest criminal.
He's certainly way up there! lol

I get the impression that some of JS's answers are attempts to make herself look not so bad without the (self)awareness to realize how very bad her answers make her look.

Is it possible that she herself didn't know she wasn't taking Maddie to school until SS told her HE was going to? At 7 am. And HE didn't make up the leash story, SHE did?

Is like she had this concept of good parenting in her head (something along the lines of I take her to school, I buy groceries) and all of her answers come from a place of protecting that, including believing and defending SS because as long as she keeps her eyes closed, she's a good mom. Chronic, pathological denial.

I think he went in to JS's room to get MS's phone, made up the dog story when JS woke up. I wonder why he didn't throw it away too.

I won't try to think like him.

I was gonna Like your post till I got to the "I won't try to think like him" part. Now all I can do is LOL so you got Haha instead. lol

Thanks @Gemmie, for finding that ( I knew you would)
Ive brought this up before but cautiously. because it says notifications were removed ( which means what exactly?)
I'm not familiar with notifications so Googled for it. This person's problem might give you some insight into turning them off (why someone would want to). Also, from what I've read it appears that notifications aren't the same thing as the actual alarm. You can turn off notifications, but the alarm will still go off.

I kept getting these push notifications from the clock telling me an alarm was set and they were annoying me.

Yesterday I got weekly screen time report. One of the apps that came up as "most used" was my clock. When I clicked on it, notification options came up (ex. "Allow Notifications," "Banner Style," etc.) just like you would see in the notification center for any app. I turned "Allow Notifications" off thinking that it would stop the annoying notifications. It turned my whole alarm off! Now none of my alarms work at all!

and that it was consistent with her daily activities, how can that be consistent to get up at 9:19 if she was driving maddi to school everyday? and had to be there by 8:30? Maybe its just the report writing?? not super clear.
She had said she was tired and needed a good night's sleep which is why she sent them upstairs for the night, which is why she wasn't going to do it that particular morning.

Good thing for SS that they had that agreement, huh?? I wonder how things would have unfolded had they not had that agreement and JS was going to take her as per usual? Maddie hadn't been "disposed of" yet, she was slumped dead in the car. Would SS have thrown her things away? Perhaps and then said she was missing when he woke up and "maybe she ran away". But, JS needed her sleep so they had an agreement that SS would drop her off that morning.

Pg 50: JS stated when she takes Madeline to school, they would leave no later than 0850 hours. JS stated the night before they agreed to have Stephan get Madeline ready for school and take her. JS said Stephan was going to take Madeline to McDonalds, but she changed her mind in the last minute

I am wondering… after reflecting on that ‘one’ croc scenario, and come up with three possibilities. Was it simply dropped by someone in a hurry to move things or tidy up? Or, was it on someone’s foot and fell when they were carried with them on? Or, was someone startled and quickly fled the room with them both on and one came loose in that ‘escape’? All speculation only…… and I’ve not been close to following this case all these many months. So I could be far afield.

Investigators and authorities should have asked SS and JS under oath about that perhaps? Unless they did and it was also missed by me. MOO

It's MO that it was left where Maddie took them off as it was near the bedroom window with a pair of JS's white crocs. But why would SS grab only 1?!?! That's the question of the day. Cuz he had to have known that he was putting only 1 shoe in the bag that contained her backpack! I mean.. c'mon.... He must have really been unable to think straight. That's the only reason I can come up with for him doing that.

But back to where the croc was found... lol

Pg 101 of 896: At approximately 1719 hours, Forensics Manager Vanessa Nylander called me and notified me that they located some of Maddie's belongings in the trash, including a single white Croc. CSI Janiak recalled seeing Crocs in the downstairs bedroom. I reentered the residence and looked in the downstairs bedroom for white Crocs. I located 3 white Croc shoes near the window. One pair of women's size 8, and a single left shoe size 5-7, which matched the right size 5-7 located in the trash.

How about this? SS intended to dress MS in her school clothes which may have been on the floor or in a hamper in JS's room. Maybe he made it in and out without waking JS, dressed MS and realized he was missing a croc, and when he went back to look for it, that's when JS woke up, he makes up the leash story and, unable to get it without JS noticing, leaves without it.

no doubt. And it's just the defense doing its duty. From what we've heard and seen, there was only one person driving her around and moving her from the car to the trunk, then fixing a flat. Videos of just one adult. Plus, his phone . . . how reasonable can the doubt possibly be?
The videos and the disposal of MS's body charges are as strong as it gets. That said, I'm wondering what the prosecution has to show that he murdered MS. I believe he murdered her, I'm also looking at the evidence known at this time and I see where the defense can poke holes in the murder part. I'm thinking the JS' name will come out, a lot.

True enough, they have a lot of surveillance ( complex garbage where they found her back pack) flat tire where they found her body. The actual murder?? I've heard nothing really other than the COD.

@Gemmie, regarding not wanting to do laundry I clipped it to start at 18:09 the laundry part is about 19:34
I don't want to over think it, but he asks her a question about how often stephan did this, and did she find it odd, what did she think in that moment ? and she said her main concern was the peeing, he asks, if this is unusual did you not find it odd? what were you thinking? she says I was more worried about the dog peeing, than what he was doing. ( she was worried enough that she "Shot off the bed", but she didn't ever ask why he did that?

keep listening because then he clarified "when this happened were you not laying down??" "did you check your phone, was there anyone else in the house??" she says she heard noises in the kitchen. In my opinion, he's trying to figure out who may have shut her alarm off, also establishes Maddi didn't go in there, Jenn says she woke up to her alarm but it sounds like that alarm was shut off? You listen, and see what you think, I could be way off.

After 19 minutes

Wait, what?????

Would M normally come in and say goodbye?

"I would have hoped she would have come by..."

Long pause...

"I can't remember if this was actually one of the first times Stephan took her to school so....

I...

I would have hoped she would have said goodnight." Quickly corrected to good morning.

Freudian slip? Honest mistake? Harmless slip of the tongue? Or a telling one?

I think JA was looking inside her head/memories to answer the question.

FWIW I don't think she saw M the night before either.

I think there is a lot in both of their interviews that sound like they rehearsed a story. Even him giving her a play by play of his day," I stopped for vape juice, I waited a long time..." who cares? If someone asked how my day was I wouldn't include that I stopped for milk on my way home. She also mentions that he told her he hurt his thumb, so she makes sure she looks so transparent to offer that info up before he even asks.

Woot woot!!! @ttjo to the rescue!!! Thank you for that! *tucks it away in my notes*

and this is the video where he mentions he thought she was looking for headphone's timestamp 2:17
So, you can prove he said headphones, and I can prove he said he "assumed she was looking for her phone" (I said that upthread a earlier today with proof of source). So.... what does THAT tell you?

His story changes!!! Hers too for that matter!

That he is a liar... shocker
That clip was hard to find too, in most of the clips he doesn't say he thought she was looking for headphones. The comment this time, was on the fly. This was the first day, maybe after this he figured out that she wouldn't be looking for headphones if she had nothing to plug into and he never said it again. They needed more practice time I guess.

Stephan Sterns Fights to Remove Death Penalty in Madeline Soto Case

Why? She got the "death penalty" and she was INNOCENT. He's GUILTY from the limited evidence we've seen, IMO, but he's crying foul? "Oh... spare me, your honor. I deserve to live". NO YOU DO NOT! That little girl of 8 yrs old deserved not to have unspeakable things done to her!!! Things her own mother wouldn't allow him to do to her!!

Pg 57! Stephan would want to have anal sex with JS, but she said she didn't want to.
