With no audio of the incident, we don't know who said what or how loud or soft their voice was.
Below is an attorney/family interview which provides examples of Jacobs' voice at 3:50 and 17:50. I'll just say the loud aspect of her voice is a lot higher volume than me, my family, and most people I associate with.
I cringe when watching this because I notice that she isn't getting comfort from her boyfriend's relatives. Sad situation for all.

Clearwater attorney Michele Rayner and the family of Markeis McGlockton, the 28-year-old man shot in a fight over a parking space, will hold a news conference.
You don't have to have sound. There are numerous things that are obvious in the video. As I've said, initially MD didn't say more than a couple of words over his shoulder as he walked away. The girlfriend is the one that escalated the situation despite the fact that she was in the wrong. Nothing on this planet is more obnoxious than when somebody who knows they are wrong tries to stand their ground. The confrontation continued and she obviously didn't feel threatened because she stepped out of the car. I've seen this woman interviewed and it is quite evident that she is the argumentative type. In my honest opinion it was her that was the cause of all this.

The police say the bullet went into the chest, "witnesses" claimed the bullet hit his stomach, now "witnesses" claim the bullet hit him in the side. I think we need to just ignore the "witnesses" and wait for the official autopsy reports.
Doesn't matter where it entered really. Could have entered his side and wound up in his chest.

I will not engage in physical fights, I doubt as a woman that I would have a chance. I will depend upon my CCW. I am not saying that you don't have the right to allow yourself to be beaten. That decision is not mine. I am just saying that I would not meekly submit to a beating, I will use my weapon. Because that is what it's for.

I a woman as well. I don't feel meek and weak <modsnipped- removed snark>

I realize that sound is not needed. For those curious, I provided a sample of her voice. Interesting, that's all. MD and BJ dialogue has nothing to do with the SYG determination anyway.
I'm intrigued by the entire incident, start to finish.
The spotlight on the entire incident may lead to fewer people parking their vehicle in handicap parking spaces. They may still be inconsiderate humans, but they might think twice before illegally parking in a handicap space without a permit.

I feel sorry for the children, and I hope their mother finds a responsible nonviolent person to be their father.

Their father is dead. There’s no replacing him.

Nelson, Crist call for Department of Justice investigation into death of Markeis McGlockton

In a letter to Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Assistant Attorney General John Gore, three senators and two members of Congress requested the department's Civil Rights Division open the investigation. McGlockton, 28, was shot July 19 at a convenient store near Clearwater in what authorities have so far deemed a "stand your ground" shooting.

Along with Nelson and Crist, Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., and Rep. Alcee Hastings, D-Fla., signed the letter. Hastings' district includes parts of Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach.

A 'heartwarming' show of support for Markeis McGlockton
Michael McGlockton, the father of 28 year old Markeis McGlockton, refers to the visitation for his son as a “heartwarming” show of support.

Family, friends, and other people, who never met Markeis, made an effort to go to the church. Regardless of their relationship to him, they intend to continue to fight for justice.
...
Markeis leaves behind a girlfriend and three children. His 5 year old son finally understands why he has not seen his father since the shooting

Michael tells us, “When we walked inside to view the body [at the visitation], he just stood there and I picked him up and he just hugged me, hugged me, hugged me and we walked to the car and he was just whimpering. He was just whimpering because he knew that his dad is not coming back.”

Fatal Shooting Sparks New Debate About Florida Stand Your Ground Law Changes

Stand Your Ground shouldn’t make Florida the Wild West,” says criminal defense attorney Anthony Rickman, who has tried and won cases involving Stand Your Ground in Florida. “Just because you got pushed doesn’t mean you can shoot someone. People still have the right to act rationally. I don’t believe the law was created to let you kill someone for a shove.”

Altercation over parking spot didn’t need to end in death: Readers sound off

Letter to the editor:

As a holder of a concealed-carry permit, I disagree with the defense in the recent shooting of Markeis McGlockton in Clearwater, Florida, over a handicapped parking spot. As part of the requirement to qualify for the permit, some fairly rigorous education by qualified individuals must take place. In the course I took, we were told that “stand your ground” must be “defense in kind.” If someone pushes you, you get to push back. You must be faced with “deadly force” to respond with “deadly force.” In addition, the shooter cannot have acted in any way to provoke the confrontation. Based on the video that is circulating, shooter Michael Drejka was clearly not in danger of losing his life when he chose to take a life and I think that Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri needs some education on the subject of “stand your ground”. The education given to most “concealed carry” individuals is intended to make them less likely to use deadly force.

But that is not true. The man was brutally slammed to the ground and people are beaten to death every day. This was self defense, and even though my CCW is not Florida, my training in no way required me to accept brutality. It was a proper call, and the writer would have known that if the writer ever went through the CCW process.

<modsnip: snip quoted post and response to it> Just because the man has had a speeding ticket, he deserves to be brutally attacked? D has no criminal record, unlike the man who attacked him and slammed him to the ground. MM has multiple felonies including drug dealing, domestic battery, assault and battery, counterfeiting drugs. His victim was lucky to have survived. I have an idea that might stop some of this violence. Schools should teach every year an anger management class. It only takes a few hours to complete and it could be done in home room. It won't stop behavior like drug dealing, but it will help with the problem of responding to words with violence. What do you think?

So you are blaming the victim of an assault?? Come on. If, like any normal person would have done, MMs wife would have simply moved the car to another spot when she was informed that she was in a handicapped space, this wouldn't have happened. But I have seen this before, and I believe SHE was the one that got belligerent. I don't think she mistakenly parked in that spot either, she parked there because she and her husband have no respect for anybody else in this world. MM had no right to assault MD either. So by the time MM was shot he'd already broken two laws, and although you might find him irritating, MD had done absolutely nothing wrong.
I didn't say I find him irritating but it wasn't his place to confront other drivers/parkers. He isn't LE or the owner of the business.
BJ wasn't under any obligation to move her car just because MD informed her she wasn't legally parked.
Obviously none of this would have happened if MD had called LE or went inside to inform the owner of the business.IMO

brutally slammed

Adjectives are very subjective. I. would describe the incident as "the man who thinks he's the parking police was helped to the ground. It probably was easy because he was "old and weak". His lips were flapping pretty good for an old weak man. JMO

Personally I am sympathetic to the VICTIM of a crime, not the attacker. It was self defense. And, no, you cannot respond to words with violence. It is uncivilized, and even the weak have the right to defend their lives.

For all we know MD might have flashed his weapon at BJ and that is why Markeis shoved him away and to the ground.
We do have at least one other person that claims that he (MD) did just that in a prior parking altercation. IMO

Except he was shoved and fell on his backside, not brutally slammed.
