Trust me I really did not want to go here but after seeing countless references to what I BBM above.... I will. One does not normally see two men kissing.....unless they are in an environment that that is likely to happen. I think perhaps he may have frequented gay bars or at least been to them on more than one occasion previously.

Huh? I've seen plenty of men (and women) kiss each other in public places such as the mall or at a store or even while they walk down the street. You don't need to go to a gay bar to see that. Just my opinion.

Were his motives terrorist related or homophobia - that is the core, at this point of the thread , I think

only mo

I think that is equivalent to putting on blinders, there could be so many reasons he chose a gay bar, including it being a soft target BUT I also stress he could have been dealing with issues of his own sexuality, think Andrew Cunanan.

raisins made from green grapes?

the belief they would be rewarded w virgins is sexist as well. as if a woman has no worth unless she is one, what happens after he himself "defiles" her? is she just to be cast aside? idk I find it repugnant.

Duggars?

I missed the part about him getting to the bar at 9:30 and can't find the link now. Does anyone have it?

Trying to find it. It was from a guy inside the bar, who said he did not realize it was him until he saw his pic the next day.

He described him, as appearing fine. These are my words , but he said he just looked like a dude that was "cruising". That was not the way the guy said it , but it struck that what he meant in his description of what he observed him doing.

It gave me chills - just sitting there marinating in hate

The guy IMO, was authentic....

On Fox, all deceased victims have been identified. Forty seven names have been released. The other two names will be released when next of kin can be notified.

I wasn't trying to argue at all. I do believe he claimed it was terrorist. I just don't feel it was an organized attack.

Okay, well then, I don't know what to tell you. The shooter, the shooter's father and a terrorist org have all stated this was terrorism. Not sure why people are looking for a reason or excuse to remove terrorism from its source, but terrorism by any other name is still terrorism

Yes, I believe that.

Wait... so in some cases it is, "well ISIS hasn't claimed responsibility yet so it can't be them." In this case it is, "ISIS can't believed because they will claim responsibility for anything that hurts Americans." Say what?

At church yesterday our sermon was about only wanting to see things your way, and not recognizing others may see things differently. I have been struggling with this matter in a personal issue in my life. But r can ring true here or anywhere, really.

I know, I am sick to death of hearing that the suspect has no ties to isis, I don't care who they have ties to or are affiliated with it's all for the same reason. It's islamic terrorist. jmo

Where did you read this? There are only 2 people left to be named. http://www.cityoforlando.net/blog/victims/

Oh glad to hear this, this was from the presser earlier this morning . It remains somewhat confusing - as of this morning 24 had family coming forward. After an international nonstop story.

For someone, not to notice that someone might be gone , until sometime after this mornings presser , which is a day a day and half afterwards is bewildering.

It is a young bar-- I woud imagine many were living at home

IMO

If that could be verified, then I would be on board w ISIS.

Thank you! I had seen a shared post on Facebook that was of a screenshot where someone spoke about their friend/cousin (can't recall) who took 12 bullets, but made it, and said that the news is not reporting that there were 2 others shooting in there who are now 'on the loose' or something of the sort. I decided to come here and check what had been posted since I last looked earlier this morning to see if there were any MSM references to this.

Scary.

I think the poster is concerned that only 24 victim's families have called about their loved one. During the press conference today, the Attorney General kept repeating the number to call to find out if your loved one is a victim. I took that to mean that 25 victims have had no queries about them and therefore can't notify next of kin. IMO

Wasn't he afraid bullets would come through that door?

I imagine he wasn't thinking very clearly, just responding in a panic.

That's why we need to keep them out of the US. And if they're already here, we need to deport them.

You cannot deport a US citizen

So if he told the 911 operator it was because of ISIS then his family wouldn't figure out he entered and shot up a gay bar? Even though it is the largest mass shooting in US history?

He was not suicidal - he did not kill himself. I think he thought he would get away. IMO his upbringing was secondary - why not give some terrorist credit instead of calling in and saying I dispise gay people.

I just found it astonishing, that just a half an hour ago on CNN that on the 911 calls , he referenced two different terrorist groups, that have nothing to do with each other , and have totally different belief systems.

When I heard this, I thought well how devout could he be?

It was on CNN in background - no way to link- it will probably surface tomm in print

Keep who out?

I apolgize for bringing this up. However, it is bewildering that so many fatalites have yet to be claimed.

I fear that a lot of these familes have rejected and thrown out their gay sons when they came out, and have nothing to do with them .

This is very very common in hispanic family systems. It was Latin night.

Latino men reported the highest number of negative family reactions to their sexual orientation in adolescence.

I have not been following the news on the television ..do you have a link to this ? tragic and first I have heard this

I've never seen same sex couples, in my community, display pda, but it's not as uncommon in other places. I cannot speak for the area that this was claimed to have been witnessed.

Just saw a report on KTLA news about the guy arrested in LA with the weapons in his trunk.

He is NOT a copycat. He is a gay young man, just had bad break up w/his boyfriend in Indiana. Apparently he called his ex at work and threatened to come down and shoot up everyone in this office. The cops were called and the man went on the run all the way to California.

In the middle of the night he was pounding on random doors and windows in a Santa Monica neighborhood. Cops came and found him to be erratic and searched his car. Arrested him for weapons etc.

I think he might have gone to the Pride Parade and shot people. But not because he hates gay people. Just because he was angry at his ex boyfriend and was out of control.
