What's odd is that Dale was able to get into the Marines with a felony.

The rules must have changed somewhere along the line. My DS wants to be a Marine so bad that their strict entry rules keeps him on a straight path and motivates him to keep his grades up. A friends son was competing with college grads and on a six month waiting list to get in.

Wonder if he was in the military at that time? Can they keep his name under wraps?

An article upthread stated he entered the Marines in 1993.

Well, dang. When I said DS would run straight to a lawyer yesterday after LE's announcement, I didn't envision Mark. I like Mark a lot, though. He'll do a good job of keeping LE and the DA on their toes, as it should be.

Sadly, LE has lost any chance of ever getting another crack at DS. I still don't think that little announcement yesterday to be a very bright move on the part of LE. And I still can't think of any good reason to so totally and publicly alienate your prime suspect. IMO, LE made their job a whole lot more difficult by doing that.

They must have some pretty strong evidence that we don't know yet. I'm sure if they thought it would work against them, they wouldn't be naming him as a suspect, that's a pretty strong label, by most LE standards. Sometimes in some cases they want to put as much pressure on a suspect as possible. I certainly hope they know what they're doing!

I know when my husband was drafted into the "Marines" back in 1965, they had to have a clean record.

It sure looks like things have changed, perhaps because not as many men and women are joining the Military. Now the recruiters hang out at high schools, when that never happened back in my day.

Ya know, all things considered, unless there is some other master plan at work, I have to 1000% agree with this. I just don't get this and think it's pretty strange. I would have thought covertly DS would have been Suspect Numero Uno from Day One, why the big announcement now? WHat does this accomplish? To have the Mother and Sister beg him to co-operate like that? And the fact that LE didnt know the whereabouts of the twins at the conference just made them look too clueless IMHO.

I get the sense that time is running out big time in finding Michelle, and the only real hope IMHO is that IF DS jr or DS sr are holding her against her will somehwere, which I HOPE is the case, and in fact likely.

p.s. - sorry to all I offended with that careless remark about equating DS being 40 and dressing up like a star wars character as delusional. I only meant to suggest that he has a huge fantasy life, but I could and should have phrased it better, that coupled with a short temper and being prone to violent outbursts (up to and including restraining orders and domestic battery charges) is not a good combination. I only wish I had time to cosplay !! I'd go as "The Blue Knight".

I think LE made it pretty clear that after the first day or two, DS and his family have completely stopped co-operating. DS Jr allowed a search of his condo (which indicates to me that nothing happened there) but likely DS Sr did not allow a search of his home which resulted in the search warrant and raid. I can't see the point of tip toeing around this family at this point. They are not going to co-operate no matter what. Naming DS Jr a suspect does a couple of things. Because he has not been arrested, he had to go out and get a lawyer on his own dime. Not sure if MN is charging him a fee but without an arrest, DS could not get a taxpayer paid public defender. Hopefully now that he has legal counsel, MN can convince him to co-operate with LE in some way. I think we've already heard that a statement is forthcoming. Well that's more than LE have been getting so far. If they can start communication between DS and themselves through his lawyer, then that's better than nothing. If MN is a lawyer with a conscience, perhaps that might be the best thing to bring an end to this.

Is Mark N still representing TES? Wasn't TES searching for Michelle? Is that a conflict of interest?

It is very possible he lied, or he applied for a waiver, etc., etc.

Are you feeling better this morning?

Morning Miss Patty. :seeya: I had a poor nights sleep and still feel puny. Took some more O/C cold medicine. I am in for the ride today. Praying that today is the day that Michelle comes home to her family, preferably alive. Thise babies need their Mom. Go LE.
