Right now: Miya Marcano’s cousin is speaking to us. The family is searching again this morning in Orlando. She’s remaining hopeful. “If he knew anything, he took that information with him,” she says of the person of interest in Miya’s case who deputies say took his life

She adds some details about how the family Found the bedroom. She said there was Jewelry on the ground(necklace she always wore), bed was unmade, room was in disarray and looked like there was some sort of a struggle. She said Miya’s family has always been clean and her room is meticulous.

Of course, today Orange County Sheriff’s office will continue investigating, it’s possible they will share more details on what they found as they learn more.

The family will be breaking into groups and searching the woods near the apartment complex where #MiyaMarcano lived & was last seen. "Miya is a fighter and we're gonna fight for her," her cousin Caili says.

Deputies spent all weekend trying to track down Caballero. Seminole County deputies eventually found him dead at around 10:30 a.m. on Monday morning outside some apartments on Sabal Lake Drive in Longwood.

Two residents told FOX 35 News Caballero used to work maintenance at the Seminole County complex.

"He’s worked on our refrigerator, our oven, stuff like that - I know who it is for sure," said resident Joshua Hooper.

Court records out of Polk County show he was arrested in 2013 for setting off a small explosion inside a dorm hallway at Warner University.

I wondered this also. When she arrived home, did she have to unlock the door? If so, she wouldn’t have suspected anything. If it were already unlocked, did it raise her suspicion?

There POI was a maintenance worker at Miya's apt complex. Apparently he had come on to her a few times and she shut up him down every time. Unfortunately the POI committed suicide, possibly Friday or Sat. Not a whole lot known other that at the moment I believe.

yes but did he lock it behind him when he left with Miya? Was it locked when she got home from work? As @PayrollNerd mentioned, if unlocked - I think she would have been suspicious.

Ok so I took the little guy on google map to walk around, away from the pool this is the side view to the apartments. So it's posible that if she was on the first, second floor, he threw the suitcase down then he went down. His car could be right there, by the window.

If it was when she missed her flight, POI would have some dark coverage of night to do whatever he did to remove her IMO.

It seems when she wasn’t on the flight. They were probably concerned beforehand as she wasn’t in communication- as it sounds like she frequently was - but then sounded the alarm. 5 pm to at least 10:30 pm is a big chunk of time. It sounds like maybe he was on shift as well so was there when police arrived to ask around - but that must have been before 10:30 or maybe just after? Maybe he was working an evening shift? It seems her apartment was not checked on Friday evening before she missed the flight or maybe it was?
What’s odd to me is that the POI wasn’t going to be announced until yesterday at the press conference but surely the police knew before Monday morning that her apartment was accessed by someone else on Friday afternoon? I’m surprised they didn’t put out an alert before then - it makes sense then that there family and friends were saying they weren’t happy with the way the case had been handled before the presser.
Lots of unknowns and what if’s here. This could be hard for her loved ones to come to term with because of all of this.
