BSS is not in the DMSN5.

Is in the trauma section, like PTSD.

Did he just say he's testified 1500 times?????

In other words BSS doesn't exist.

Therefore it's not legally binding. Psychiatrists, who have an entirely different training (a medical and scientific model) than a Psychologist, are legally bound to using the DSM for diagnosis.

Psychology is not a science but a pseudo-science many people believe, it is not a medical training and it is not a legally grounded practice IMO.

Can he testify about JT's trauma, haha.

He cannot because a Psychologist has no business or legal right to diagnose people using the DSM and their opinion doesn't stand in law.

Also, he has not spent time with SB diagnosing her I don't think.

I see a lot of objections are being sustained.

I was just trying to be funny and failed again........

Did the Defense just try to certify him as an expert and the judge SUSTAINED the State's objection?

So he's speaking about something that doesn't legally exist and applying it to a person he has never assessed... uhm say what? I don't see how this can be admitted in court.

I'm glad he keeps pointing out men can be victims too.

I hope the jury is thinking of JT, tricked into a suitcase, zipped in, and hit with a bat as he tried to get out....

The Defense's example of injuring his face on a trash can lid is... rubbish.

Now the witness is talking about abuse and coercive control, required for BSS.

Where was SB under coercion control? I argue the opposite. She controlled JT.

I'm so glad coercive control is being mentioned as that's what SB was doing to JT - controlled his entire life IMO. Poor man didn't even have his own phone, no money, no job. I think maybe he was trying to leave her and he did die.

Doing anything they're asked to do / demeaning themself... etc. Would that include getting into a tiny suitcase?

Defense is struggling to get their "witness" recognized.

What about the carpet? When he stomped her it was on the carpet that is concrete.

I want to know who the carpet installer was, I need some of that carpet.

He's making a solid case. For JT.

  • #1,159
I think the expert witness for the defence is doing a great job of exposing SB as an abuser.

  • #1,160
It would seem we had two damaged individuals. SB, needy, codependent, abusive. JT, maybe all that PLUS being subject to coercive control. It's how she got HER needy needs met -- make sure he couldn't leave her. Entrapment. Suitcase, perfect symbol.
