One thing is for certain...pre meditated or not this guy is no rocket scientist. I just can't get over the fact that he slashed that tire. That drew attention right to the parking lot. He makes the phony texts after he slashes the tire...alluding that she 'ran away' but there's her car sitting in the parking lot on the same flat as the night before with her ID, her CC, and purse laying in the floorboard. I am thinking her brother was already at work and inside the building because he didn't find the car till 11pm. If he received the phony text, then went to work, he would have seen the car earlier. I think that's the reason for the brother text...he was already at work and perp needed an excuse for SG not showing.

So he sits there for 18 minutes...doing what. We know he sent the phony texts after he left the parking lot and I am sure he deleted any of texts to and from him. I have to wonder if he wasn't texting or talking to someone else...or perhaps waiting on someone else either to show up or call. If it was a crime of rage that was unplanned one would think that after he got back into his car he wouldn't just sit in the lot thinking 'oh what have I done'...most would panic and get out of there and get just as many miles between themselves and the murder scene as possible. But this guy sat there for 18 minutes...

I think I read upstream somewhere that her car wasn't parked in her normal area. So maybe he thought no one from work would see their cars parked in this area as the other employees came to work...or maybe he was in a car that no one from work would recognize as being his.

Maybe he just incapacitated her before he got out and went to her car...maybe he thought she was dead and when he got back to his car he realized she was still alive maybe he used these 18 minutes to finish the job...this is just speculation and musings on my part. I agree with Bently...that 18 minutes...that took nerves of steel and that doesn't sound like an impulsive person.

Either way his crime wasn't well thought out. He probably thought he was a genius coming up with the ideas he did but a two year old could've covered their tracks better.

These are all musings, speculations, and my opinions only...

i think the meeting was pre planned possibly but not the murder.

Here's what I'd like to know, how many minutes from the time the car stopped moving to the time he got out to get her phone (if that's what he was getting - seems weird, why would she walk over to his car without her phone?)
That's why it seems pre-planned to me. She arrives, walks over to his car, talks thru the drivers window, gets in the car they talk more, she is killed. All in 14 minutes? He gets out, gets her phone (?), slashes her tire, then sits for 18 minutes. Shouldn't the 18 minutes of thinking time have been immediately after he kills her?

if they have a history of having an affair/ on and off dating maybe they didn't want to be seen together.

And then there's post #11 that said:

"Her car was not parked in her normal area when going to work. It was a little away from the Bonefish."

So, no doubt not where employees would notice, why? Premeditation?

If you do a Google "tour"of parking lot.. you can see a vystar ATM in the parking lot.. it is just a couple rows over from bonefish! I "stood' outside of front door of bonefish and looked around. You can see the ATM from front door. You can also see the back(employee/kitchen) door for bonefish on there. Just to get a perspective! I don't know how to post photos or I'd post the viewpoint. Seems like that part of the parking lot would be for overflow

I have a Samsung Galaxy and if you long press on send when texting it allows you to choose a future time to send the text. I'm not saying that's what he did, that he was even smart enough to know that or that there would be a reason for him to do it, but it is an option.

 Nope, my app doesn't do that. Interesting that some phones have that. I'll remember that for other cases also! I wonder how that appears on phone records if someone does that? Do the records show that? Or only if they have the phone? There was an MSM article that said they were looking for information on her "old phone" also. Wonder how this ties in. Also wondering if MSM will be getting more of the Florida Sunshine law documents on all of this to find out. e.g. did they find her phone? If he did text after 6 to brother and dad after 6 (and friend tried to contact at 6)... where did the phone ping from? This idjut didn't realize that when he sent from her phone, it would ping? (yah! I have my "j" back which wasn't working before)

I still wonder how he got into her phone as don't most all have passwords to open? Did he get the phone and use what someone upthread said was a fingerprint opening? (We have no info in MSM as to what type of phone it was)

Here's what I'd like to know, how many minutes from the time the car stopped moving to the time he got out to get her phone (if that's what he was getting - seems weird, why would she walk over to his car without her phone?)

I guess we differ, as that is why I think the murder was not planned ahead (but doesn't mean they cannot prosecute for premeditated, as can happen in moments before... just that it wasn't planned hours before)

My thoughts were that she came to work 30 minutes early (noting that her mom in MSM said she usually went early) yet where she parked was showing it may have been a pre-planned meeting between the two. (her friend on MSM said that it wasn't where she normally parked). So I"m going with it perhaps was planned to meet... not yet in my mind that he planned to kill. ... or........

I do vacillate on this though, as when she got out, she got out of the car WITHOUT her purse and phone. (NOTE: THIS IS ASSUMPTION, we don't know as to keys/phone from MSM) If I'm going to meet someone before work and chat and talk.. I take my purse and lock my car. She didn't do either??. She got out of her car, and then walked up to the drivers side without her purse, and did not lock her car. ETA!: We do NOT know that she got out of her car, and took her keys with her but left her phone in the car. I take back that she did not lock her car. But did she? And did she take the keys out with her and locked car so that he then unlocked car? :dunno: as the MSM articles don't refer to him getting keys.. but perhaps he got keys AND her phone when he went to her car?

He was most likely waiting until everyone arrived for their shift so he could"not be seen leaving murder scene"

I was thinking as you were as I didn't know much about the restaurant business at all, but pamelado2 mentioned below, that with restaurants, folks come in 1,2 or 3 at a time building up for the rush hour of dinner.

That doesn't seem likely to me - the hours that night were 4:00-10:30. Most shifts would be staggered I would think. 2 come in at 3pm, 2 more at 4pm, 2 more at 5pm, etc. If he wasn't worried about someone seeing her car in the parking lot and her not being inside and telling her brother then I have a feeling either no one else was coming in or they were parked in an odd section of the lot.

Then there's the question of who gets to work 15 minutes early? So, why not leave at 5:45? Parked there 30 minutes from when she pulled up to when he left is very risky if you ask me.

I'm also curious as to why he told her brother "I'm leaving with my boyfriend". It makes me wonder if Sanannah's 4pm texting with the male co-worker was a new boyfriend and her brother knew about him but not her parents. And the killer was jealous.

MOO as always

I have never seen that it was a male that she sent those texts to at 4 pm. I actually assumed a girlfriend, but you have given me pause to consider it was a male, or actually him. I'm basing on MSM reports that merely said "friends", but gave no gender. e.g. and example is "Investigators searched the homes of two of the woman’s friends, with their permission, but did not find her. Gold has also not been active on social media since she disappeared." http://mb.ntd.tv/2017/08/05/parents-release-last-texts-woman-sent-before-strange-disappearance/

And then there's post #11 that said:

"Her car was not parked in her normal area when going to work. It was a little away from the Bonefish."

So, no doubt not where employees would notice, why? Premeditation?

Premeditation for murdering in her car, or a planned meeting that when the were meeting, he snapped with passion? (not sure of Florida laws differentiation). But yeah, I'm leaning towards it was a planned meeting that she parked next to him. But with her leaving her purse in the car, it shows she was being cautious :moo: as to meeting him. What did he do to get her into the car, without her purse or phone on her person?

One thing is for certain...pre meditated or not this guy is no rocket scientist. I just can't get over the fact that he slashed that tire. That drew attention right to the parking lot. Agree, doesn't make sense that he slashed tires, left the purse with empty content with the exception of the phone, and then texted that she has run off with her "boyfriend". That is what makes me think it was a passion murder (not sure what Florida laws are, we don't have Gitana or other lawyers on this thread yet... but others here are from Florida and may be able to chime in)

i think the meeting was pre planned possibly but not the murder.

My leanings also, with what we know. But him having a knife to slash her tire on hand... makes me wonder what her COD was

if they have a history of having an affair/ on and off dating maybe they didn't want to be seen together.

Agree, definitely on my list of possibilities.

But then why oh why did he sit for so long in the lot afterwards to perhaps be seen by others.

That, I just cannot even come up with good speculation.

:waiting: on media to get ahold of the search return warrant for the car etc and publishing them.

I drove by there today and noticed a small area of memorial flowers still set up (zoom in, they're behind the planter on the right side). Wednesday night is a popular happy hour time there, and with it being a week since the incident, I wonder how business tonight will be. I am tempted to go; it's so heartbreaking.

Unless Bonefish is open at night, this parking lot is generally pretty quiet. This is the ATM and parking area, with the restaurant in the background.

  • #268
Yeah Sleuthy, I wish I could go as I would just go to honor her in solemn silence (and give a great tip to the server, without ever bringing it up). So respectful that the memorial is left there.

Again, my heat breaks for both of their co-workers and families.

:praying:

Does anyone know where he was parked? Beside the ATM or in front of it in the rows that are perpendicular?
Will they release the surveillance video?
I wonder where the camera was.

It looks to be about 8-10 parking rows from Bonefish, pretty far for a casual glance. Although I don't know where employees would be instructed to park. Her brother noticed her car when he left work - maybe because it was by itself in the lot?

I will see if I can do it. i just did this in another thread.

RSBM : I carry a knife in my car at all times. I am not a gun owner, if something were to happen (attacked) id stick em if I could.

Yes, I don't have a screen cap, but iirc it is on this pic that I saw on MSM video. :cow:. their cars were about 4 & 6 spaces in? iirc, they were separated from one space, and he backed in nearest to this angle shown, she pulled in. :moo: I may be 100% wrong, yet that is my recollection of the space shown on MSM video. I wish I had done screen caps as I watched videos as this is the second time that I'm wishing I had screen capped. I went through about 10 videos to find either, and came up short..... so :moo:

Slain woman's family remembers her as kind, forgiving and full of dreams

Savannah Gold's mother, Sherri Gold, remembers her daughter with a smile and tears in equal measure.

"Kind, empathetic, sympathetic, funny, bubbly personality; she’s an athlete, so she was, you know, really in great shape, and she loved to dance," Sherri said.

"I remember her telling me a story, just a few weeks ago," Sherri said, pausing as she choked up, "...they went to this crowded bar and her and her friend were dancing and people just formed a circle around them because she was dynamite. I mean she was somebody you’d want to hang around with, she just had so much personality."
She always showed up to work, in fact, she always showed up early. Savannah was a hard worker, she had two jobs and always picked up extra shifts at Bonefish Grill.

Sherri said she last saw her daughter on Wednesday at 5:15 p.m. when she left for work. She was dressed in her uniform and said, "Bye. I love you," as she passed her mom outside. Sherri said Savannah always told her she loved her.
Savannah and her coworker weren't seeing one another at the time, but they had become friends again.

"I told her I thought it was a mistake for her to talk to him and I asked her to stay away from him. She said, 'It’s okay mom, It’s okay.' Because she’s always so forgiving, she’s like 'We’re only friends, nothing else is going to happen, believe me.'"

Savannah's older brother Chris also worked at Bonefish Grill. Sherri said Chris and Savannah were close and helped each other out. Sherri said that Savannah was a 'daddy's girl' and always wanted to make her dad proud.

And she did make her parents proud.
She went to Douglas Anderson as an art student, she attended Wolfson and also Mandarin High, where she played lacrosse passionately.

I'm thinking he might've spent the 18 minutes panicking over what he's done, perhaps he thought he'd just subdued her and when he realised he had killed her, he freaked out.
Or maybe he was researching where he could dump the body?
I don't necessarily think the killing was premeditated, it seems more of a rage killing - so it would make sense if he then spent some time trying to figure out what to do with a corpse.

IMO!
