"When you talk about federal firearms charges it typically has to do with firearms that may be purchased in another state and then are transported here to the State of Florida to be sold," said Kaplan.

Vorpagel's father did not give details about the federal charges against his son. He choked up saying the names of the three victims killed Sunday night. He says he knew all three. He says the shooters were not his son's friends.

"They had nothing to do with the party. They're not friends, and they're not associates of Sean's or Charlie's," added Vorpagel.

Vorpagel's father believes there was more than one shooter.

"They came up from the back from the waterway, the getaway car was out here," added Vorpagel.

Good. I hope this takes "Charlie" Vorpagel out of commission for a very long time. He'll have to live with the knowledge that his own actions are partially responsible for the deaths of his friends.

Strange case......very hard to follow. One still in the hospital & cant talk to LE yet, right?

Only 27 years old and totally messed up - Vorpagel is an illegal drug seller who should have been put behind bars a long time ago.

When I mess up I do not do it small! No no, I posted three posts of the wrong thread! Thank god glf PMed me -- who knows how long that boo boo could have gone on !

A;ways have lots of windows open, well bad me!

Can not think of a worse case to post on the wrong thread! This is so nustsola - sorry this is gonna be a bit out of order. But when I learn new stuff I must share right then cause it keeps going all over the place!

I alerted the mods of my error a few minutes ago but this is, finally concrete stuff.

Some of it makes some sense now - when it was breaking I was blown away by how huge a LE effort it was. I am not minimizing their deaths - but it was just like a terrorist attack. That just did not make sense to me .

This is big time drug operation.

6 guns in (will make sense when the posts are moved!) in his house.

BOught guns at gun shows. He is cooperating

.Vorpagel said he recently sold roughly two boxes of AK ammunition to a customer, and that he had two firearms he planned to sell to the same person, according to the affidavit. In the interview, Vorpagel said he was trying to modify one of the guns so that it would fire automatically.

Vorpagel told detectives he lived in the home alone, and had recently obtained roughly one ounce of cocaine, which he and his “drug dealing business partner” cut into smaller amounts to sell over the weekend, the affidavit said.

found a KEL-TEC PLR-16 semi-automatic pistol and Mossberg 12-gauge shotgun beside the front door, according to an affidavit. The shotgun had rubber ammunition loaded.

The FBI investigation also found, in one room, 1737 grams (just over 3 pounds) of marijuana in a container, packaged in bags for sale, 914 Xanax capsules in a bowl also separated into bags for sale, and an unloaded assault rifle. They also found 32 grams of marijuana inside a dresser drawer, according to the affidavit.

n a second room, the investigation found hash oil, nearly 17 grams of cocaine, 44 edible narcotics, a .25-caliber pistol and a .357-caliber pistol, while a third room contained a .308-caliber rifle and hundreds of rounds of ammunition.

determined to be indigent- must not be a good dealer!

This thing is like James Bond opening -- three guys on boat in the intercoastal behind the house, landing, opening fire, killing three and escaping in a car.

now the opening credits ..........its a cast of 8 (at least at this point)

Following along with you.
Very confusing story or reporting(not by you)

It didn't help much that I posted several on the wrong thread - cause it is hard enough to follow as it is!

So the "info" was posted out of order ugh!

Federal firearms charges - suspect in custody of F.B.I.

Does anyone else get the feeling that there is an ongoing investigation with him regarding other possible charges?

Very confusing - almost no facts given.

Federal firearms charges. In custody of F.B.I. Seems like pieces missing though - I agree !!

I think this is a very big gun drugs gang group that is gonna result in several more arrests or blood.

His house had so much stuff - we got two or three ****s coming in off in a waterway, and escaping out the front.

I think that's pretty "operationial " stuff

Sad thing is they shot at the wrong people.

At some level, no judgment, his house sounds like , however, just walking in , one would "think something" with two guns at the door, one in view in another room etc etc

But hey it could just have been perceived as he deals..his choice

NOr has anything been explained in terms of how the three of them met the dealer?

Somewhat interesting in that nothing has been nothing mentioned about plans to release tox results from the three??.

At this point I still remain confused about stuff and am having a hard time figuring out my questions!

It seems like one walked out of a play and missed a crucial part of the narrative - while some of the questions were answered by the final curtain there is still a hole in the narrative.

1 The dealer running the neighborhood.fine

but . THe 911 call from the BMW? Was that the shooter that is still in the hospital?

3 They said dealer was injured - maybe that was the stab wound not gun shot wound.

It seems like we got too many people all around after the shooting - the BMW, him in the street, and I95 car

The guy in critical was one of the shooters.

Dealer injured - why was there never reports of two people injured and got treatment that night?

Yes one of the shooters - dont know if another shooter shot him on purpose or accident.

three shooters ambushed them while they were sitting out back around the fire pitt enjoying each other.

Speculation only:

From all the reports and confusion tho this is my guess so far.

The three were in backyard. Dealer was inside. During some segment of minutes, two ambushed from the waterway into the backyard and murdered them (business partner my guess) knocked on the door.

For a peroid of time there were several reports that dealer opened the door after someone knocked. This feels as if it might have been his business partner at front door.(after all he opened the door) But we also know that shooter(S) also entered from the waterway back of the house.

We also know all three victims were shot in the backyard around the fire pit.

So, it seems word got out on the street that something was going to happen that night at that house cause there is a lot of stuff inside.

It seems like maybe his business partner was trying to clear out their merchandise , to prevent it from being stolen, by a rival, ---- something was brewing .

Dealer got stabbed and fled while (doorway entry/business partner) ran around to get their stuff out of house.

The other two came in to try and steal stuff -- I think this is when the shooter in critical condition got shot. Maybe they were fighting about who gets what. (or two different organizations trying to steal the merchandise)

There was a lot of stuff "inside" the I-95 car that was illegal and it makes sense that there was an awareness that there were, as we find out later; a lot of stuff that criminals would want to steal which was the primary motive of the whole thing.

It just seems that the backyard ambushers and the front door knocker had to be from different "interests". One sounds civil if you will (knock knock- dealer recognizes and opens door) while the other backyard gate crashers seem -- more ill-intentioned if you will

All speculation of course!

Would love to hear some of your theories.

I am wondering if the one in the hospital was one of the ones that entered from the backyard. jmo

......

Vorpagel's father believes there was more than one shooter.

"They came up from the back from the waterway, the getaway car was out here," added Vorpagel.

The man, who declined to give his name, said he didn’t think the person had any connection to the community of Paseos, a neighborhood at Toney Penna Drive and Pennock Lane just south of the crime scene.

The guy in the hospital is one of the bad guys - confirmed

which explains why they have not given out his name IMO

Charles Vorpagel, the man who escaped a triple murder on Super Bowl Sunday in Jupiter on 2017, has been sentenced to eight years in federal prison on drug and weapon charges. Vorpagel, who faced up to life in prison, was sentenced Friday on federal charges for possession of a firearm, possessing a controlled substance with intent to distribute and possessing a firearm “in furtherance of a drug-trafficking crime.” Once the 28-year-old is released from prison, he will be under supervision for five years and will have to undergo both mental-health and substance-abuse treatment.
