Got to turn in. This is so addictive.

Cam - look around the nieghborhood for any other sources of soot - firepits and such.

Look for treehouses like the former sitter mentioned.

I already mentioned the horton address down the street from somer's.

TIA

Oh-just one more thing. Fireplaces are not going to be very prevalent. We have a few, of course, but there's very little need or demand for them.
Now mommya, a firepit or a stand-alone chiminea, that's a possibility. (We have one, and it's useful as a smudge pot to keep the skeeters away)!

Yep, I'm thinking that's more like it. It's very possible the perp hung out in the vacant house from time to time. Maybe he even went there after the fact...could have even put stuff there to make it look like the workers were involved. But I don't see someone killing her there. It would require moving her around too much...moo.
I dont see all those police spending all those days at that house for nothing.

  • #325
Doesn't all this sound like whoever is responsible took huge risks and therefore might not have a documented history of this type of behavior?

Maybe a kid?

  • #326
It will be interesting to see, but I don't think she was ever at the house. I just went back to video from before she was found, and I don't think they guy was in the immediate area at the time of the searches.
Perhaps he tried to burn the bookbag?

I think he saw an upset little girl and manipulated her to get her into his car.

If she did go up to the house, and left the house unscathed, she would have chosen to exit heading toward the rear of the house and not go back up to the sidewalk? Just asking.

  • #328
And I keep thinking that the one thing Somer needed that day was a friend. She allegedly got in a squabble at school, her mom wouldn't be home from work, yet, and the other kids were ticked off at her, and...so at that point anyone would do, but...Deina evidently knew that the 13-year old son would be at the park, because that's where she picked him up. So maybe Somer was headed there.
Wonder if the older boy had a cell phone...Somer may have wanted to use it to call her mom, even.

Was he sent to the park to hunt for her?

  • #329
I wondered that at the time if the police had asked her to say that.

I think so too make the perp upset hoping he will make a mistake. IMO

Where I live we have multiple garbage companies that pick up people's garbage. Some have mechanical arms and some are guys that pick up the cans. So does anyone know what type of garbage trucks are used there? I know this question has been asked but I don't think answered. We have guys and sometimes we have less garbage and sometimes waaaay more. We've been customers forever so they do take the extra. I mean sometimes we have a couple of cans instead of the one we are supposed to have. I mentioned this before, but where I live, you are not supposed to put household garbage into construction dumpsters. So I wonder if there was regular garbage cans at the burned house for the construction workers garbage such as banana peels, etc from lunch? That would not be allowed in the construction dumpster and a construction guy knows that. If there was carpeting in that dumpster, they sure haven't gotten very far on the house, so it is possible that there is plenty of wood in there that is burned and hasn't been replaced. I don't know what relevance the men's bathroom has, but I can't see anything happening to her except at that burned house where whatever happened would have been done quietly as opposed to out in the open like that park would be. However, if they have searched the dump and found evidence of the garbage, it is possible that have found info that indicates that she wasn't dumped at the construction site, but elsewhere because of bills, etc in the garbage. What made them go to the burned house in the first place? It doesn't appear that Vinson told them anything. If Vinson was working there, were they working there the next day? Didn't they notice anything? At one point, I'm sure that anyone could have gotten into that house, but with new windows, it's locked up. It just doesn't seem random and stranger to me at all. I have to refer back to the burned house because the perp didn't think she would be found. So you wouldn't think that he would think that the burned house would come under suspicion. Why? Working on it the next day? Maybe it was a teen friend of the neighbor's who wasn't that good at planning anddidn't realize what would happen.

It is just normal garbage cans the workers pickup and dump in the truck people have posted. We really don't know if the house was worked on that day. Evidently they have not been working on it steady or they should have been done with it if they started in July.

Oh another thing. Back may posts ago it said that DT was married first to a guy in Bexar co Teaxs. Maybe she was friends with the perp Clay from years ago. I just can't wrap my head around that perp 's identity being used when LE was first there. IT makes absolutely no sense at all, esp when LE should be checking people out. Maybe he was visiting one of the neighbor's.

I think it’s a possibility that a 7 year old would say that if she walked to the
house thinking no one was there and then saw someone she wasn’t comfortable with.
I have a 6 year old granddaughter and I could imagine her saying “nice work
on the house” if she was scared.

Maybe the kids were instructed not to talk to them EXCEPT to tell them they were doing a good job on the house. (not to bother them)

Also, I was told that if the electricity is on, you have garbage service (and are paying for it).

Commercial dumpsters are not part of the Orange Park Trash pick up. Totally different trash/pickup. When full, a new one comes, old one taken away. NOT where Somer was found, IMO. She was found in the Orange Park trash/garbage pick up in Georgia, but first searched @ Rosemary Hill, Florida.

"Trash from the neighborhood where Somer’s family lived is taken to Rosemary Hill, then transferred to the Georgia landfill. Rosemary Hill was searched Tuesday.

The body was found about 3:30 p.m., almost exactly 48 hours after Somer disappeared after breaking away from her twin brother and an older sister on the way home Monday from Grove Park Elementary School."

Rosemary Hill is a LANDFILL, spefic refuse.

Leaving the house on Gano, the restroom across the street, and her home out of the equation I’m looking for alternatives……

She may have hidden from her brother and sister by visiting the Gano house, the Park across the street, behind the tanks or somewhere secluded and let them get past her which allowed time for something bad to happen.

She walked thru the wooded area and was snatched
Like the Garrido kidnap, a vehicle pulled up beside her and just took her
She was grabbed or lured into a house or apt on her way home
She decided to visit her special friend and never left alive
A known person offered her a ride from which she never returned

Thanks, yes, but I'm not talking about the giant construction dumpster.

I'm talking about standard 20-30 gallon, 40-pound limit trash cans.

Now, I don't know what the point would be to use them since there was the dumpster ... but if there were trash cans handy and the perp did set them out in front of the Gano House, then they may have been picked up (either because driver was on auto-pilot or because the house had electricity and therefore had residential garbage service.)

To further clarify, the emptying of the giant construction dumpster would have been under contract with a private firm. (I'm not sure that it would fall under the definition of commercial dumpsters or it would have been taken Wednesday morning, isn't that right? Residential on Tuesdays and Commercial on Wednesdays?)

It's late and I'm tired of the trash talk ... ;)

I'm sure it's just because I've read all the pages in all the threads and don't feel like I'm learning much new about the trash.

The furthest I will go on trash speculation is that I hope that anyone that was insistent on loading their own trash that morning has been thoroughly questioned and swabbed.

  • #340
Maybe that bathroom had some evidence left there. I think she was lured in the house, probably raped and killed rather quickly...hidden, he may have walked over to clean up then went back and disposed of her. Someone in that neighborhood that didn't look out of place IMO

Who would not look out of place carrying a trashbag or whatever it was?..Even late at nite it is a huge risk, even if it was close by..I just do not see it..sorry!
