ITA!

Unless she was a little spitfire.

ok - here's another fact -

Somer fought her attacker.

So maybe that means he didn't have a weapon ready . . .

We don't really know that she fought, do we? Isn't this something said by her father? I know the Sheriff said look for someone with cuts, scratches, etc., but that could have meant something entirely different from Somer fighting him..like he cut himself on the dumpster, left blood on it; maybe even scratches from something in the dumpster - we just don't know. Maybe they DO know which dumpster she was put in for all we know and blood from that dumpster which does not match Somer's.

As for a weapon, since I think it was a juvenile and a rage killing, my mind goes crazy with thoughts of a juvenile (in the park) with a baseball bat.

This is starting to remind me of Maddie Clifton --

when I lived in Jax, I could see Maddie's house from my apartments.

The boy who killed Maddie -- does anyone there remember -- used a baseball bat, right? They were actually playing, and something went wrong?

You know - it's kind of hard to imagine that little 7-year-old Somer could do that kind of damage to an adult --
Might mean that perp was not experienced. However-why did LE say that? What would he have had to go on? Wasn't this just pure speculation, too?

I can think of at least two people that fit the description of some of the first things the sheriff said to be on look-out for, before he got to the part about unexplained injuries.

  • #486
Probably just her fingers, maybe? (This is really horrible)

It does sound like two kids fighting, and not a grown adult.

So this is where we are so far?
1) Somer's body was discovered in landfill
2) She left school at the regular time and began walking home.
3) Somer routinely wandered around and no one knew where she was.

Leaving the area - CWG
missing work on the afternoon - CCP?

I always felt the presser the day after the funeral was more a political move, rather than anything based on actual evidence. To reassure the public and shore up confidence.

But perhaps it bears a second look. LE has been careful about revealing anything, and the Sheriff chooses his words with caution so as not to give away anything, even refusing to take many questions from reporters, if any at all.

But if we can pick apart what he HAS said, we might find clues. Or maybe not...

So - do you mean that we can't put a lot of weight on what he says?

In that video, he keeps saying "specifically" -- so, he seems to be talking to a few people, and he seems to know that they know who they are?

CCP - bald bf

didn't DT call him to come home from work early, but he had already left work?

Not that we can't put a lot of weight in what he says, but that the list of things he said to look for was generic - at least to anyone not involved in the crime. It might be totally relevant to someone who actually has an inkling that someone they know is the killer. It's just not a very useful list of characteristics to those of us "in the dark".

This is the quote from the article

The body was discovered in a landfill this afternoon, just over the state line in Georgia. The landfill, in Flokston, GA, is the end of the route for trucks collecting trash in Somer's hometown of Orange Park, FL. The body was found partially covered. Dectectives searched this area after following the route taken by the garbage trucks that pick up the trash in the neighborhood that Somer Thompson lived in

Partially covered? (with garbage?) Partially clothed? Makes a huge difference, doesn't it? So, I don't know if we know if she was clothed.

Honestly, with so many RSO's , how can they be cleared so quickly unless they were in court that day at that time? How can they check alibi's so quickly? Even if they were working, you would have to ask people that worked with them if they were really there, etc.

And were they all doing something that can be verified? I know sometimes I'm just sitting home reading a book by myself or what ever. That in itself is totally weird to me-clearing RSO's so quickly.

Of course, we know so little. LE says there is a child killer out there. We know that. But the only person this killer will kill is Somer? So maybe it is someone they have in jail for some other reason, such as WLK?

It does not make sense that CWG gets a pass-no problem that he didn't register but WLK sits in jail? I don't get that.

I still say, why isn't anyone talking about this case?

Been away and I'm waaaaaaaaaaaaay behind...

Just want to add WLK isn't the only RSO in OP that's been arrested & still sits in jail for failing to register since Somer's disappearance....(ie: see Oct 25 occurance report)

Just saying.

Tho, if what DT's attorney said is true - that someone is under observation - I highly doubt they are watching someone in jail. However, observations may include those considered a possible accomplice or alibi.

Regardless, like the rest of us, IDGI!

CPC is the bf. According to the MPR, DT phoned him at approx 4:20 and asked him to leave work early to help search. It has never been publicly verified where he actually was when she phoned him - at the company site, on the road, other location, etc. Did she call him on his cell? Coincidentally, on the MPR, the home phone # CPC gives is his cell phone.

Would this qualify as a fact?

After searching the house on Gano, they immediately went across the street and searched the restroom in the park?

Does anyone have ANY idea on what led them from the house on Gano straight to that park restroom? I don't have any idea. Would like to hear some of your thoughts as to what it could have been.

It was said they took SOMETHING from that bathroom and were not in there very long.

So he was specifically - like he said -- talking to someone.

Now, remember the LE who ran against the sheriff for CC sheriff? He has a son -- son in trouble and named by girls in Folio Magazine, and in other trouble, and miraculously getting out of trouble -- son was stopped for speeding on night of Monday, October 19. Lived nearby --

Hey Tara!

Wanted to comment on the "under observation" part. If it's someone in jail, and if they're making phone calls, and if LE and the D.A. have specific phone numbers of who they're calling, those calls are being recorded, transcribed, and gone over with a fine-toothed comb for any incriminating evidence.

So it could be someone in jail that they "have under observation." Jail phone calls can provide an amazing amount of evidence.

Sorry! All these initials . . . . They can trace pings from the cell phone and find out where he was, right?

okay - here's another fact --

Somer routinely wandered around and no one knew where she was.

So, how come on this particular day, at 3:10 everybody got alarmed? She was only out of sight about 20 minutes at that point. IF SP was at the house, he might have . . . didn't he have to send out AT 2 times to go look (while he did what?) . . I can see AT and the other kids saying "she does this all the time" . . .

Yes, that is a great fact!!! Thanks for reminding me about that. I think that is an important one.

Not that you'd be happy that your child is wandering around, once again, by why have a breakdown this time?
