Thanks Eyes for your answers. When there is a lack of evidence for your suspect based on what has been released, then we can look to words and actions by LE to see if we are on the right track. Your suspect is an RSO. He would have been directly investigated by LE to see if there were any involvement. He would have had DNA on file.
His home and vehicles would have been searched. His home had no crime scene tape, so was therefore discounted as being involved in the crime. His vehicle if used (1) why would he have disposed of the body near his current or former home? (2) would it not have revealed evidence of the crime? It takes just 6 weeks for this type of DNA comparisons. If his motive were sexual molestation, then he did not have time to spend in this before the body was disposed of as LE was on the neighborhood scene in growing numbers from 5pm onward. Very chancy to have done something after that time. So then you presume he just killed her for no reason. Just because? Since as you say it happened quickly, and body hidden immediately. OK the vehicle is out apparantly so then he walked? Borrowed someone else's that LE didn't know about? Still does not explain driving no further than the area where LE is already alerted. Or where someone is presumably searching. I can not think this person would be involved at all or would have been announced to have been arrested or arraigned already. I do not consider him a suspect. Just not up for citizen of the year award as all around nice guy either.
You're right, based on what little info we have, my #1 suspect is WK a RSO who lived in the area - here's why:
1. WK is a RSO with a history of violence and child rape
2. WK lived in a home in the area with a woman who passed away
3. WK was asked to leave the home by the woman's daughter
4. WK has a relative in a nearby nursing home
5. WK left the home he lived in and went to live with family - he forgot to tell LE of his new living arrangements - he was arrested for parole violation. Has been in jail ever since.
We know that predators react to stress - called a trigger
he lost a person who housed him, she helped him look somewhat normal??? If you review his criminal history, WK certainly has the disposition for sadistic and violent behavior. That might have been exacerbated when asked to move out of his friend's home. We don't know how many victims he has had since his last arrest - maybe many - maybe none!
Since he no longer lived in the area - it would make sense to me that he would dump the body in an unsuspecting place - a place he no longer was at. I have no doubt he knew all about the garbage compactors and where it was dumped.
Much of the incriminating DNA and evidence may have been destroyed by Somer being dumped in the garbage
He knew the neighborhood - he lived there for quite some time. I don't know about his car - he may have known a place to hide/park it and never put Somer in the car. I bet he knew about the house on Gano and that there were sex offenders who had worked there - he would be the kind to try and set them up for the murder of Somer. mho
As I said - if it's not WK, I think it's another sex offender, lots of those slugs haven't been caught and are therefore, not registered or have their DNA on file. all just my opinions and subject to change when more info is given out.
