I still think that she was taken out of that neighborhood and dumped elsewhere....I have just got to believe with all of LE and volunteers working around the clock on Monday evening, she would have been found if she were in one of the locals trash.....

Press conference (this am) confirmed all the normal garbage recepticals in
neighborhood were searched before they got picked up except for one at vacant house & ones they did not get to prior to pick up..Those went to landfill to be searched.

This must mean they pretty much know exactly what came from where?

I am hoping that she will find a place in this world to help kids. I was thinking about having a "Watch Group" in all cities and towns...people who are home and can watch kids going home from school. I see Deina's neighbor is starting one in their neighborhood. I would be happy to help in ours as well! It is so hard to find a job and keep one nowadays...people can't just quit their jobs that easily if they have one that won't allow them to go home and get their kids from school.

My plan is to bring this up at our next city council meeting. Perhaps those of you that read my post could go to your next city council meeting and bring this matter before your elected officials and ask for some guidance and cooperation. See if your Neighborhood Watch programs can connect you to your neighbors that want to help.

I think this is a great idea. Poor Deina is beating herself up for not finding a better way to get her children home, but it looks like all the neighborhood kids went home in the same group and the neighbors all looked after each other. Looks like she did the best she could. It is so hard for working moms today.
It would be great if parents could rotate walking the kids home or supervising their outside play. A friend of mine had the idea once of neighborhood getting together every Friday evening, blocking off a street and sitting around, getting to know each other while the kids played around them. Good way to make sure the kids are being supervised and a good way to get to know your neighbors.

We had Neighborhood Watch programs in my neighborhood when I was young. Anyone with a certain sticker on their door was safe to go to if you got followed, or something, when walking home.
We still have them but they don't do as much.
I think neighbors could create such a group and maybe rotate who would watch the kids after school if mom and dad are working, or at the least, make sure they get home, inside and lock the doors behind them. If all the kids knew the phone numbers and locations of non-working neighbors to contact if in trouble, that would be great. But, I just don't think it's safe to have latchkey kids with all we know. We need some good, low cost after-school programs, I think. That's something else I'd be willing to pay tax dollars for.

she is a force in the making. I see her doing amazing things in the future in terms of missing children. I truly do.

I agree 150%. I'm sorry that she's had to suffer this loss but I have every confidence from the strength in her eyes that Somer will always be with her, pushing her forward, to make a difference in the lives of those she AND her daughter can reach....together.

well it still looks like that big one hasn't been dumped....I do not think it would be dumped by the reg trash route tho....and thinking the ones they didn't get to check would be those outside of the mile or two radius.....

Wonder if perp moved body from one place to another because of the high news coverage got scared and placed in regular trash for the trash pick up.

This is a person with no empathy and NO compassion - I can't imagine this sicko thinks he did anything wrong. Scared? I'm sure he thinks Somer is somehow responsible. He's nothing but a bottom feeder lowlife slug.

I know y'all hate me but thanks for the many posts since last night that to me are really relative to the crime, information that is excellent and isn't an emotional diatribe. It really helps me personally to try to figure this and that out. I'm sure it's the same for a few others. Honest, I'm very thankful to you excellent sleuthes for information that can be actually checked into and challenged.

Kimster - I'm sure he thinks Somer seduced him or if she had tears in her eyes, she was asking for protection or egging him into a bout of sex. These pedophiles are nothing but destroyers of life -beautiful young, lives. :furious:

How sad, but I can understand why LE wouldn't want her to have those memories.

KIMster! I suspect this has been posted, 'cause I haven't read through the threads completely. But I went to one of the local stations' websites: http://www.firstcoastnews.com/news/local/news-article.aspx?storyid=147076&catid=3. They posted about the creation of MAP, by the mothers in the community. There's a video report on that link. I like what the moms are thinking; purple's going to be their "safe" color. If a child has trouble, they'll know that they can safely go to someone displaying something purple. (Purple was Somer's favorite color.) I think what they're planning is a grand idea. And one that could be embraced by all communities. I did notice in one of the blogs a link to M.A.P. -- but it's another M.A.P. -- aimed at internet predators. The MAP in Orange Park is supposed to be "Moms Against Predators." The posted link on the First News blog is to Mothers Against Predators. I'm going to be standing in line for the new organization, as a mom and a grandmom. I'd encourage everyone else to do the same.
