GUILTY FL - Wayne Treacy for savage beating of 15yo girl, Deerfield Beach, 17 March 2010

  • #381
I am really sorry to post this here, but I can not seem to be able to search, and I can not find any way to send a message to an admin. If an moderator or admin reads this, can they contact me to tell me what I am doing wrong?

As for Treacy - there is no excuse for his actions. many people lose loved ones by suicide, but that does not give you the right to nearly murder someone else.

what are you having trouble searching?

what are you having trouble searching?

I do not have an option (anywhere that I can find) to allow me to search. No "search" appears anywhere on my menu bar or anywhere else. I believe that my account is not fully functional, but I am able to post.

Family member says Deerfield Beach beating victim has emerged from coma
Facebook supporters of Josie Lou Ratley get good news

FORT LAUDERDALE
Josie Lou Ratley is awake, but she's still not talking and doesn't appear to know why she's in the hospital, a family member told supporters this week.

Neither Ratley's lawyer nor officials at Broward General Medical Center would confirm the report Tuesday, which was first posted on a "Pray for Josie Lou Ratley" page on Facebook the day before. The page has more than 1,600 followers.

"Josie was able to sit up in a chair today for about an hour," wrote Yvonne Sanders, who introduced herself as Ratley's aunt. "Still can't speak or swallow, and is having bad headaches. Very frustrated because she doesn't know what is happening to her. Progress is slow but steady. Keep up the prayers."

What a wonderful day - first Nadia, then all the action in the Haleigh case and now this news from Josie!!!! God is smiling down today.

O/T - but this is weird. I went out early this morning to weed the garden (gonna sow tomorrow) anyway - while I was working I had to walk back around the front and right there, in front of DD's window was a $20. bill on the ground!!!!! I walked all over and halfway down the street looking for more!!!!! hahahahahahahaha

Today is a VERY GOOD day!!!!

Prayers to Josie and her family. So glad to see you back with us Josie!

Seeing as how the idiot attacked her in front of a ton of witnesses and left a huge texting trail, I highly doubt they need Josie or K's testimony to put him away. More likely they will rely on him to testify against K. JMO

Great news on Josie, but the still can't swallow part really worries me for some reason - but then I'm a layman when it comes to recovery from head injuries, so I hope it'll turn out fine.

I am pretty positive she is not going to know what happened. I don't think she ever saw this guy coming, from the description of it.
So even if by miracle she came back a 100 %, I am pretty sure she isn't going to know what happened.
But I sincerely doubt these witnesses are all going to get "convenient amnesia," or that Josie's testimony is going to be necessary. For one, there was a teacher who stopped it and saved Josie, who should make a good witness, in addition to all the text messages that were send by this boy.

UPDATED: 12:27 pm EDT April 14, 2010

snip~FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- The doctor caring for Josie Ratley, the girl severely beaten as she waited for a bus at Deerfield Middle School, says the 15-year-old has been moving around her hospital room in a wheelchair.

Ratley was put in a medically induced coma for nearly a month following the attack.

Rick Freedman, the family's attorney, said Ratley can't speak and has limited functionality in her right arm, hand and fingers.

Doctor David Lasko said it's unclear how much neurological damage Ratley suffered but said that her steady progress to this point gives him hope about how far she could progress.~ end

and this: Lamberti said Treacy showed no remorse after the attack, sending another text message to his friends that said, "Well, I guess I'm going to prison. I almost killed somebody."~ end
