Some people during this pandemic are still having to go to work every day. I am tired of people who assume that everyone is home.

Just my personal opinion.
There are a ton of people who’s routine hasn’t changed for sure. I don’t mean to insinuate there aren’t. My complaints revolve around those who are going out for ridiculous reasons, not legitimate work.

Coronavirus Florida: DeSantis says schools to stay closed, business opening task force to meet

DeSantis also said a task force to review how to reopen the state's businesses will meet by telephone every day next week. He said the names of its members would be revealed on Monday, but it would include elected officials and small business representatives.

"We want to see people back to work for the long haul," he said.

By the end of the week, he said, it will produce a plan for "short-term" economic resurgence, then plan out a medium- and long-term business return strategy.

I totally agree! If you’re working away from home routinely, I’d think being in quarantine would be a welcome relief. Go pull weeds in the yard. Trim the bushes. Organize your garage. Clean out your closets. None of those things cost money and keep you busy, distracted and burning calories.

My friend just posted she’d cleaned the grout on the bathroom floor but it wouldn’t come clean anymore. She ordered grout painting pens and literally colored in the lines of her grout! This is the perfect time to do small inexpensive projects.
That list makes me want to go take a nap. I get your point, but we downsized 3 years ago specifically because we were tired of spending every “down” moment pulling & trimming & organizing. Idk why so many people feel the need to keep busy. All we want to do now is sit back & stare at our new simplicity. And enjoy a little volunteering when things get back to normal. Burning calories now looks like a walk and tv yoga. I’m good with that. I say enjoy the respite of sheltering!

I downsized too. 2 bed, 1 bath. I love it. I still have a 1/4 acre and love my yard. I’m slowly getting rid of all the grass. Just plants and garden beds. Before my kid had to move in, I had a lovely sewing craft room. Looking back now I’m glad she’s here. If she had joined up with another batch of roomies in that townhouse, they’d all be on the street.

They now have race and ethnicity numbers included in counties

All 67 counties have cases

United States Coronavirus: 736,790 Cases and 38,920 Deaths - Worldometer
Florida has about 21.4 million people (plus)
253,183 tests have been done
Interesting that it’s nearly equally split between the genders. Other than predominantly Hispanic areas, it’s mostly Whites. These are good statistics to have. It should help them narrow down any group that can be medically classified. Such as people with asthma, COPD, etc. I’m hoping they’re able to match up what treatments, and when to start them, for the best line of defense, and survival.

Totally get it. Our empty nest got filled with our daughter & her dorm stuff. Two of us are now juggling conference calls while our daughter does classes online on Zoom. In a small space. It’s really goofy. A bit like camping without the smores & fishing & hiking & fun. We tried going on family walks, but somehow not the same when you wave at other oncoming walkers- while veering to the far side of the road and rotating our heads lest a breeze waft some infected aerosols 30 feet across the street strait into our nostrils. It’s a weird world right now.
Daughter will graduate May 2021, but no clue how bad the job market will be by then. We may be “camping” way longer than planned. Maybe put small detached she-shed bedroom in backyard? Idk. Watching your posts, @PayrollNerd, about your daughter’s situation. Tough time to be a new grad for sure. The graduating class of 2020 won’t even have a ceremony. They should at least be able to celebrate before being quarantined & unemployed!:(

She actually did graduate in Dec and was able to walk the stage and hear us all scream in delight. LOL! Her lease was up about 8 weeks before graduation. So we figured she’d hang out here until Jan. But then her whole life imploded thru no fault of her own. She actually wanted to continue to take classes and graduate in May of this year. But for some reason the college wouldn’t let her, they insisted she graduate. Maybe stats? Not sure but she was mad! There was scholarship money leftover to fund her to take more specialized classes in Tampa to help her get into vet school. Now she studies for the GRE exam and hopes she can take it in late summer. It is sad and frustrating for sure.

FDOH reports more than 25,500 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Florida

New positive cases of the coronavirus were announced Sunday morning by the Florida Department of health. This as Florida surpasses new milestones in positive cases.

Florida cases have surpassed 25,500 and will likely exceed 26,000 Sunday night.
According to the Florida Department of Health, there are exactly 25,996 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 764 coronavirus-related deaths as of Sunday morning, an increase from the 25,492 Florida-related cases and 748 deaths reported Saturday night.

Health officials also said in Sunday morning’s update that there are currently 3,766 patients being hospitalized statewide due to the virus.

Orlando residents can also now track coronavirus cases by neighborhood using the city’s new online data tracker. Orlando’s online database also includes updated heat maps, showing which areas throughout the city have the highest number of confirmed cases.

Doesn’t show the numbers of affected/deaths.

Why aren’t these included in the Florida list? Georgia’s has them included.
JMO but they don't want to scare away the snowbirds. If they let on how bad it really is, how underfunded care homes are in general, no one will visit.

We downsized too. I am a bit worried now though. My kids are Fortunately all still working, I was afraid that they would lose their jobs, and have to come home. My son lost his job, as a chef, but got a job doing long haul trucking right away.
