There are a ton of people who’s routine hasn’t changed for sure. I don’t mean to insinuate there aren’t. My complaints revolve around those who are going out for ridiculous reasons, not legitimate work.
That list makes me want to go take a nap. I get your point, but we downsized 3 years ago specifically because we were tired of spending every “down” moment pulling & trimming & organizing. Idk why so many people feel the need to keep busy. All we want to do now is sit back & stare at our new simplicity. And enjoy a little volunteering when things get back to normal. Burning calories now looks like a walk and tv yoga. I’m good with that. I say enjoy the respite of sheltering!
I downsized too. 2 bed, 1 bath. I love it. I still have a 1/4 acre and love my yard. I’m slowly getting rid of all the grass. Just plants and garden beds. Before my kid had to move in, I had a lovely sewing craft room. Looking back now I’m glad she’s here. If she had joined up with another batch of roomies in that townhouse, they’d all be on the street.
Interesting that it’s nearly equally split between the genders. Other than predominantly Hispanic areas, it’s mostly Whites. These are good statistics to have. It should help them narrow down any group that can be medically classified. Such as people with asthma, COPD, etc. I’m hoping they’re able to match up what treatments, and when to start them, for the best line of defense, and survival.
Totally get it. Our empty nest got filled with our daughter & her dorm stuff. Two of us are now juggling conference calls while our daughter does classes online on Zoom. In a small space. It’s really goofy. A bit like camping without the smores & fishing & hiking & fun. We tried going on family walks, but somehow not the same when you wave at other oncoming walkers- while veering to the far side of the road and rotating our heads lest a breeze waft some infected aerosols 30 feet across the street strait into our nostrils. It’s a weird world right now.
She actually did graduate in Dec and was able to walk the stage and hear us all scream in delight. LOL! Her lease was up about 8 weeks before graduation. So we figured she’d hang out here until Jan. But then her whole life imploded thru no fault of her own. She actually wanted to continue to take classes and graduate in May of this year. But for some reason the college wouldn’t let her, they insisted she graduate. Maybe stats? Not sure but she was mad! There was scholarship money leftover to fund her to take more specialized classes in Tampa to help her get into vet school. Now she studies for the GRE exam and hopes she can take it in late summer. Daughter will graduate May 2021, but no clue how bad the job market will be by then. We may be “camping” way longer than planned. Maybe put small detached she-shed bedroom in backyard? Idk. Watching your posts, @PayrollNerd, about your daughter’s situation. Tough time to be a new grad for sure. The graduating class of 2020 won’t even have a ceremony. They should at least be able to celebrate before being quarantined & unemployed!
