For those who agree with the verdict...help me understand.

Because there was no more sticky left to the tape!
It was in the elements for 6 months.

It also clearly states the tape was attached at one point and that is what held the jaw bone to the skull.

It also clealry states that opinion. The previous information was fact.

You're completely right. If the tape was placed there to keep the mandible in place, how was the mandible still in place if the tape wasn't sticking to it anymore?

Because it had settled.

Why would it adhere itself to the hair and nothing else?

oh, I don't know - maybe the tape was was placed over her mouth and nose and covered the hair also which was neck length at the time and then another piece of tape was placed over that and as the skin decomposed and dissolved it stuck to the hair WHICH DID NOT DECOMPOSE and dissolve and a mat formed and rested there. Orrrrrrrr, maybe it is just magic tape as Baez said and found its way there after it unstuck itself from the outside of the garbage bag and then stuck itself around the head holding the mandible in place, which is never seen after decomp unless it is being held.

It wasn't placed there TO keep the mandible in place.
It was placed there for other reasons obviously.
The mandible being in place was just a result of the tape being there.

Either way, that still doesn't answer how was the mandible still being held in place if it wasn't adhering to it? They picked up the skull and the mandible held it's place. How is that possible with nothing there to keep it together?

Except the tape holding the mat in place where it SETTLED around the mandible.

When they made the digital model of Caylee's face Kimberlyd125, my understanding was the child's face was digitally built from the skull and given the measurements of the tape, it was clear there was no other place the duct tape had been placed on Caylee's face, to have ended up where it was when the facial tissue decomposed.

Wasn't this tape 6 inches long at it's longest point? I don't believe that's long enough to not only cover the nose/mouth, but also be stuck to the hair.

I could be wrong on the length though.

I dont care how this innocent child died. Her mother lied and obstructed the investigation. I dont care why she did it. She did it. She should be held accountable. Period! All the stupid talking heads that think there was not enough evidence to even convict this deadbeat mother of negligence are just that... talking heads. They follow the letter of the law with no human emotion or due responsibility. Total dumbing down of society. So basically the government is now responsible if your kid is gone missing. A jury of peers say so.
CA case has changed our society. We now need a law that makes parents responsible if their kid is missing and not reported, because a jury of peers say that they need more evidence of negligence. Insanity. next it will be a law if you dont feed your kid for 31 days it is a felony. This is why people are outraged. The states are flat broke and we have this money sucking system that fails even the most obvious of crimes.
Im so sick of these lawyers and people that corrupt our society because they view their importance based on their interpetation of the laws. I think JB is a disgrace. He knows in his heart he is. he let a child killer go free. That is why he throws out that he doesnt believe in the DP. He saved a life today. He is so full of it. He will only be called to represent the dirtiest guilty likes. His career is toast because he is tainted. Karma will find him. This trial was shown all over the world and the best liars won. Wow.

Just wanted to add that life in jail for Casey was probably a lot nicer than living at home with her parents. Could also add to her reasoning for sitting.

I do not agree with your reasoning to support the NG verdict, but I do understand it...however, I am really at a loss here at the above statement.

seriously, you honestly believe that sitting in jail was better than living at home with her parents? For the 31 days before Cindy caught up with her, she wasn't living at home at her parents...and she would have continued to try and give Cindy the slip if the whole abandoning the car thing hadn't happened.

there was also a 9 inch piece of tape next to the skull - some feet away. The other two pieces were still around the bottom of the mandible stuck to the hair mat which settled around the jaw (mandible). One piece on each side as Ashton said in his closing argument and a third on top.

No, not at all what it boils down to. I'm sorry that is what you gathered from what I posted, but that wasn't what I was saying at all.

So the evidence is the pool, the pictures of the pool, that Caylee liked the pool....

Ok.

Because it was entangled.

And given the temperatures in Florida, the child's body would have been completely skeletonized within two weeks of being placed there and the facial tissue would have decomposed, making the duct tape that had been placed over the face wet. The demonstration showed how the duct tape which was stuck to the child's hair, slid down and remained holding the mandible in place. It did not stick directly onto the skull because the stickiness of the tape would have been eliminated by the decomp fluid.

The period underwater further destroyed part of the layers of tape and any DNA that would have been available.

It says covering, NOT adhered, which it clearly states in the next sentence. Covering, would equate to laying over. Not adhering, sticking to, or any other synonym you'd like to use.

there was testimony from certain of both sides witnesses that the duct tape had deteriorated from being exposed for so long to the elements and would not expect to find much if any "stickiness" (my words) left on the tape. however, there was expert testimony that the tape was placed on the face prior to decomposition and they derived that opinion from the condition and placement of the mandible when found. (i know we've already gone round and round on the whole mandible issue, and i'm not trying to beat a dead horse here...but it is worth mentioning again here)

And don't forget no smell of decomp in the trunk because one of the jurors said that - there was no proof, despite many many witnesses, expert or not, who testified otherwise....:banghead:

And lets not forget that even KC reported a god awful smell in the car to her friend AMY - and the texts were shown.
