Peoples idiotic views about political correctness will cease to exist when this is taking place in the next town, county or state over from them. Anybody that thinks this can't happen right here on U.S. soil in the next year needs to stuff their head back in the sand. I think these are just trial runs for ISIS----the U.S. is the big enchilada.
And how do you mean to separate ISIS supporters from non-ISIS supporters (or from future ISIS-supporters) or do you mean that everyone who are a Muslim are a risk of being an terrorist and should be exterminated?

Dutch media: German soccer team still at stadium, wants to try and leave asap.

French airports will remain open, (international) trains will also continue, despite border closing.

Where are they? How do you find them? We're so unprepared we didn't even know this was coming. Compare that to how carefully they planned this and used crude weapons. They hide in plain site and then attack like this.

This. I remember thinking, when 9/11 went down- "What simple, evil brilliance".

I made the mistake of saying it aloud a time or two and got a rather hostile response.

However I did not mean "yay, terrorists", but rather that by using our own fuel-filled aircraft as a weapon, and comandeering said weapons with lowly boxcutters, the terrorists figuratively flew under our radar. Sometimes evil is also brilliant.

It's not like in the movies where the bad guys wear matching "bad guy outfits" (I mean, geez, that went out with the Nazis ).

"Evil don't look like anything"

You mean like this quote?

Exactly like that quote. That's what I expect from a leader. A measured response delivered with calm resolve and reassurance.

Although "Nice try suckers" would have worked as well for me.

That would mean almost all of the hostages ? Does anyone know if the hostages who were hiding and texting out pleas for help are continuing to text out or did that stop at some point? :(

They said a few minutes ago that about 12 hostages had been rescued from the concert hall. Let's hope that isn't all of them.........but it may be.

In the same report they said the band that had been performing was found safe and all accounted for.

Witness said they heard shots from the balcony in the first round. Blood was everywhere. People were screaming. There were 1000 people in the concert hall.

It was simple and evil and it's like they keep mutating. What was simple and evil yesterday is something different today. And so far we haven't been able to get ahead of them.

With the borders closed, what are they going to do with the current inbound flights and trains? I read flights were departing from DeGaulle, but flights due to depart (from the US anyway) were being held.

ETA: Orly is closed anyway due to labor strike as of 2300 hrs French time

Dutch media announced airports remain open and trains continue running. I'm only following the Dutch NOS and other media, so not sure if others have reported this, but generally NOS is very reliable.

Three words "Japanese Internment Camps".

And let us not forget the 6 million Jews who were killed in the Holocaust. Because some lunatic convinced an entire continent that all Jews posed a threat.

I think that punishing innocent people because they maybe might have similarities to "evil doers" is not where we ought to be heading as a society. But that's JMO.

I believe it is more about stopping people from leaving the country while the police/government find the individuals and associates who did this.

Dutch media: NCTV (National Coordinator for Security and Counter-terrorism) and heads of police want extra security at refugee centers out of fear of revenge attacks from right wing extremists.

I totally understand your thought. However if we, a civilized society, do that. We become animals like them. And a new breed of children against us because of that animalistic action.
I don't know what the answer is. However that is certainly not it.
MOO

One of my favorite novels, by one of my favorite authors, is "It Can't Happen Here" by Sinclair Lewis. I cannot help but to think about that book as I read comments on SM.
