New arrest in deadly Paris attacks linked to apartment raid

PARIS – French police have arrested two people outside Paris -- one of them for suspected links to the only man charged in connection with the Nov. 13 attacks in the capital, according to two officials close to the investigation.

The first arrest on Tuesday was of a 25-year-old man suspected of being an intermediary to Jawad Bendaoud, who already has been handed preliminary charges for providing housing to Abdelhamid Abaaoud, the suspected planner of the Paris attacks that killed 130 people.

Al Qaeda Chief Praises Paris Attacks, Declares War Has Just Begun

Al Qaeda chief Ayman al-Zawahiri released a 40-minute audio statement late on Tuesday in which he praised the coordinated string of attacks that struck the French capital in mid-November. It is Al Qaeda's first official response to the violence that killed 130 people.

In the statement, published on an Al Qaeda forum and distributed on social media, al-Zawahiri called on Muslims to "move the war to homes of Europe and America" because "they are the leaders of the Crusader campaign."

He also threatened France and the West more broadly. "What you see now is only the beginning of the war," he said in the statement, Vocativ discovered. He vowed "to attack again with the help of God."

Paris attacks bomber 'trained at French capital gun club' before blowing himself up

Samy Amimour, 28, was one of three gunmen who detonated explosive vests in the Bataclan Theatre, where 89 people died, on November 13.

He paid a €130 fee and received a tw-hour induction course – and no further questions were asked because he had no criminal record.

During his first day at the National Police Shooting Club (ANTP) he tried out a semi-automatic 9mm, .38 special and .22 long rifle.

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – A deadly “flesh-eating” disease known as Leishmaniasis has been rapidly spreading in Syria’s rural areas, caused by ISIS dumping bodies in the streets, the head of the Kurdish Red Crescent told Rudaw.

"As a result of abominable acts by ISIS that included the killing of innocent people and dumping their corpses in streets, this is the leading factor behind the rapid spread of Leishmanisis disease," said Dilqash Isa.

Has any one of our great leaders thought about why it is that so many of our youngsters want to go and leave their families. Some from quite an affluent background and not poverty stricken. What are our children lacking in THEIR world. Why is giving their lives up. Seem their only way in the future?
Does anyone have any insight on this?
Cuz I can't be the only one who is shaking their head at the amount of people mostly young ones Daesh have recruited?
We need THAT knowledge to put their system in disarray.

Now that is quite frightening tbh.
Given that there have been several instances with airport security of late.
Good example is the Russian commuter jet downed in Sinai.
Also the jets on the apron having arabic writing over their engines...
They said bigger and better. What's bigger than a 747 fully loaded?
Smdh.

British Parliament voting on airstrikes tonight.
Part of the impressive speech by Hilary Benn, Labour, & Shadow Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/middleeast/syria/12028313/syria-airstrikes-vote-live.html

Hilary Benn:

"As a party we have always been defined by our internationalism. We believe we have a responsibility one to another. We never have and we never should walk by on the other side of the road.

And we are here faced by fascists. Not just their calculating brutality but their belief that they are superior to every single one of us in this Chamber tonight and all of the people that we represent.

They hold us in contempt. They hold our values in contempt, they hold our belief in tolerance and decency in contempt, they hold our democracy - the rules by which we will make our decision tonight – in contempt.

And what we know about fascists is that they need to be defeated. And it is why as we have heard tonight socialists and trade unionists and others joined the international brigade in the 1930s to fight against Franco. It’s why this entire House stood up against Hitler and Mussolini.

It is why our party has always stood up against the denial of human rights and for justice. And my view is that we must now confront this evil. It is now time for us to do our bit in Syria and that is why I ask my colleagues to vote for this motion tonight."

What I think we really need are two great warlords such as Salah ad-Din and Richard I. Hardly perfect heroes but wise enough men:

Britain will join the coalition of nations conducting airstrikes against Islamic State militants in Syria after MPs in the House of Commons voted to authorise the UK’s participation.

MPs voted 397 to 223 in favour of sending RAF Tornados into the skies over Syria, after an all-day debate in parliament. An estimated 67 Labour MPs backed the government, in defiance of the party leader, Jeremy Corbyn.
