How old is she? If I knew, I forgot. It’s been an intense 4 weeks.
It was posted on Court TV trial recap that she was born in Feb 1960 and is 64 years old

She’s wearing a suicide dress, but maybe all recent murder convicts have to. They made her strip the makeup, and the salon haircut has gone by the wayside. I’ve always wondered, is she missing top front teeth? The area above her lip has an unusual configuration.
Then, I have a dermatology question. Can a blemish like the one in her right cheek be removed, or is that kind of blemish not removeable? It would require stitches, yes, but she was used to having expensive dermatology and plastic surgery treatments, yes? I think it’s odd to keep it, if you have money and it's doable. She definitely has enough vanity where I’d think she’d want to.
She looks 70 in that photo.

This makes the diaphragm thing even more astonishing. She was 58 at the time of the murder?

His name was Ted Wiley and he just so happened to be her sister-in-law's partner of many years. The affair with Ted lasted almost 4 years, then she ghosted him and moved straight onto Rusty afterwards! IMO, BBM.
If my math is correct, given the above 4 yr affair with Ted, it was stated during trial MF started up with Rusty in 2014, so that would put supposedly 1st affair with Ted in 2010.

I think MF found out about Gary's affair with his assistant and that is what caused all of this behavior on her part. All the children testified that their childhood was normal, their parents' marriage was normal, etc. Up until some point when things broke and I just wonder what that point was? All I can guess is it was Gary's affair and she never forgave him and wanted to punish him and yes, even embarrass him in public. Two of the children stated their father loved Melody very much and did not put up with them talking her down around him.

It seems that Gary was a standup guy. Such a waste of a life.

That really breaks my heart. Fingers were pointed at him, and probably still will be, plus having to testify against his mother for the murder of his father, that would break the strongest of people. I can't imagine how Amanda is feeling right now.
I may not completely agree with the verdict, but I have to respect it. But, those five guilties aren't going to bring peace or closure to this family, at least not for a very long time. This was a hard trial.
IMO.
Crying, maybe just the relief of it all!!

I think this is the right verdict. Her calls with Rusty are what confirmed it for me. They were talking and saying a lot without saying much. Clearly they were on the same page and when Rusty told her he didn't want to hear anymore when she whispered to him "he's on the burn pile". He knew then what she had done. He tried to back pedal and say it was after he was found. He would not have made that comment if MWF was telling him they had found him murdered on the burn pile. Nothing either one of them said on that call supports him being discovered on the burn pile and being shocked or surprised. I don't know how MWF got him from the house to the burn pile, but she planned this and had to have planned some way to accomplish that. I feel very sorry for the family. I can't imagine how they are all suffering. To know your mom did that to your dad.

Also per the article below … 2010 Gary filed for divorce

“Investigators said the Farris marriage was rocky, and Court TV reviewed documents showing that Gary filed for divorce in February 2010. The petition was dismissed that August.”

When will people learn? Divorce is the answer, not murder.

Right?!? I can’t get my head around how people will choose murder as the option vs getting divorced and or learning to co-parent with an ex-spouse-so much damage and risk- especially in these wealthy suburban situations- I don’t get it- who actually thinks that they are that smart and not going to get caught and it’s worth destroying so many lives??? (Rhetorical question-… sigh) - just sad for the family

I think it was probably greed - to keep the lifestyle to which she was accustomed.

Divorce usually requires selling the beloved property and both people living in something much less nice. Plus, loss, to her, of her husband's income, retirement benefits. When he eventually retired, he'd be home all day.

Yes I understand the greed and selfish aspects of divorce and wanting to avoid that-

But murder?!? I just don’t understand how people think they are going to get away with it- and then go on to live a happy life… mind boggling- moo

Yes, fortunately most people have better judgement. I think these cases are literally one murderer, in a population of a million non-murderers.

I watched part of opening statements. Looked for old articles and they are not many out there. Going to be difficult to get the entire story. Not sure how deeply I will follow this one.

It was mentioned that Gary did not want a divorce. Something must have happened to change his mind. Maybe when she moved in with her boyfriend he grew concerned about the finances.
